MEET STATS: 277 - 814 / $1,394.00 (-$234.00) BEST BETS: 42 - 76 / $169.20 (+$17.20) Best Bet: B LIKE CRUISER (5th) Spot Play: BEE TWO BEE (8th) Race 1: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (6) RAUKAPUKA RULER N almost made it wire-to-wire last start and that's the most front-end stamina the veteran has shown in quite some time. He faces softer and Stratton may try it again. (4) WATERWAY gets Bartlett in the bike off a decent try. (5) WALKINSHAW N came on too late last week and had to settle for second; Hudson trainee would be no surprise here. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: $50,000 Claiming Trot (1) EMOTIONS RICHES dropped back down to this level last week and the trotter just missed. He lands inside again and is clearly the one to beat, though he won't offer much of a price. (5) GREY is rather inconsistent but she does have good early speed and this looks like a decent spot to show it off. (2) ALL CHAMPY moves inside tonight and figures to be stalking the speed from much closer-up. Race 3: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) THE REAL ONE has rounded back to top form and the 12-year-old just oozes class; with a smooth trip the Lachance trainee seems more than capable of surprising. (1) ULTIMAROCA came up a little short last week but gets another chance from a similar spot. (8) NONE BETTOR A wired similar last out and he does have the early speed to get away well from the eight hole. Race 4: $50,000 Claiming Trot (4) NIGHT FLYER K has proven that she can be competitive at this $50K claiming level and she seems capable of improving a bit off her last try, where she flattened after making a second move. Good price looming in this open event. (5) PLUMB trotted home decently last week in her best effort since being claimed by these connections. (1) BIG BAD SWAN lands the rail and Bartlett drives again. Race 5: $50,000 Claiming Pace - $10K GTD. Pick-5 Pool (2) B LIKE CRUISER was reclaimed by Dowse and stays at the same level going for four straight; logical chalk. (6) ELWELL was uninvolved last week but finished well for a small piece; perhaps Kakaley can get the veteran out of the gate tonight to set up a live trip. (5) NOWHERE CREEK A is up in class off the DiDomenico claim and he's coming off a lifetime best 1:52 4/5 score. Race 6: $75,000 Claiming Pace (3) KEYSTONE PHOENIX has faltered in his last four races but it's not like he raced badly in any of those efforts. Dowse trainee should get an easy lead from this spot and that could make the difference. (4) CHANGE STRIDE N rallied strongly for second in his last two races from similar spots and he should land a nice share again. (6) ROLLING WITH SAM has missed a few weeks but had been racing very well for the Alexander barn; Kakaley is back driving. Race 7: $50,000 Claiming Pace (4) BALLARAT BOOMERANG is another Gareth Dowse trainee that Bartlett drives who is razor-sharp. This veteran goes for his third straight overall and should have a tactical edge on rival (5) BENJI'S BEST. The latter was tearing it up until the good times ended last week when he didn't fire in a $75K claimer. Alexander trainee is back down to $50's and figures to respond. (1) BLUEBIRD RECON faces tougher off the Garcia-Herrera claim but he does draw best and figures to make his presence felt here. Race 8: Open Handicap Pace (1) BEE TWO BEE has been facing better recently and the Burke trainee has big-time speed. He's inexplicably assigned the rail here and is a strong candidate to take this field wire-to-wire. (4) RED RIGHT HAND was an also-ran in the #Senditin at Scioto but was a winner two back with Stratton in the bike. (3) I'LL DRINK TO THAT steps up to the top level but lands a decent post and could grab a share. (3) SKY CASTLES was also a winner last week and he's clearly the main threat to the top one in what looks like will be a chalky outcome. (7) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN can leave alertly for position and pick up a piece at a big price. Race 10: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) PADUKA was claimed four back for $50K so he figured to be able to handle that field of NW10000's last week; he bumps up a notch on the conditioned ladder and seems capable of taking another. (3) THE REGULATOR almost 'dropped and popped' last start but came up a neck short, though it was an improved effort; Bartlett drives again. (5) BIG SIR can step up with a big effort from time to time. [DRF HARNESS: Follow me on Twitter! @drfharnessmatt]
