MEET STATS: 251 - 759 / $1,281.20 (-$236.80) BEST BETS: 37 - 70 / $150.20 (+$10.20) Best Bet: FAMILY RECIPE (6th) Spot Play: ROCK LIGHTS (7th) Race 1: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) VELOCITY KOMODO had been toiling recently from outside posts facing better but he successfully dropped and popped last start. Stratton trainee bumps back up a notch but may have regained some confidence. (3) MULLINAX closed soundly to just miss last week and Bartlett picks up the drive with Zeron on the sidelines. (2) LONG WEEKEND A was third best to the top one last out and he lands another good post. Bongiorno trainee also raced well here a few starts back in the Pop-Up series. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: $50,000 Claiming Trot (2) JUSTLIKEHIM took five weeks off and qualified willingly; Dowse trainee can look to take this field wire to wire. (3) GREY runs hot and cold but her last two have been solid. (7) MUSCLE JACK was claimed four starts back at the $50K level and the Alexander trainee has reeled off three straight, his last two at the $75K level. He's missed a bit of time and is now back in for $50K. Why? [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: $75,000 Claiming Pace (1) BENJI'S BEST has been on quite a roll, taking four straight as he ascends the claiming ladder. Now in for $75K the versatile veteran is in a good spot to win another; Brennan gets the catch-drive for the injured Kakaley. (7) KEYSTONE PHOENIX figures to be firing out and assuming he makes the lead, does the top one retake? Either way he's a player. (2) DELIGHTFUL TERROR seems to have found a home at this level despite not winning in some time and he keeps Stratton over his brother's horse. Race 4: $50,000 Claiming Pace (4) BECKHAMS Z TAM is still shut out of the win column this season at 0 for 17 but he's raced pretty well since being claimed by these connections and he figures to be the best price of the main contenders. (3) OZONE BLUE CHIP picks up Bartlett tonight and he's proven at this level. (2) MARINER SEELSTER seems to be getting better with age and the 13-year-old bumps up to an unproven level going for four straight. Race 5: $75,000 Claiming Trot - $10K GTD Pick-5 Pool (3) STONEBRIDGE GAMBLE and (7) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN are two locals that are the most proven at this level and they face some rivals here with plenty to prove. I'll lean towards #7 on top, as he can get off the gate in good order and figures to be the better price. (4) KANDY SWEET was not involved in her first try off the DiDomenico claim; she also has some early speed. Race 6: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) FAMILY RECIPE was very sharp at both ends of his winning mile upon arrival from Ohio. He bumps up to face a bit tougher but could be good enough to repeat. (1) MIKE'S Z TAM has plenty of early speed and the Lachance trainee draws the rail again; he can work out a live stalking trip and land a good share. (5) DEAN B HANOVER was dead-game in defeat in his last start, but that was almost six weeks ago. Gillis trainee returns off a winning qualifier. Race 7: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (7) ROCK LIGHTS has quietly raced very well in his last two while facing better and now he drops a notch and meets a questionable field. Stratton trainee has a nice brush in him and may be ignored in the wagering. (1) MANKAT has been tailing off in the late stages lately but his last win was when Bartlett was in the bike. (3) CRUNCH HANOVER hasn't shown a whole lot recently but he was a beaten favorite last start and the price figures to go up tonight. Race 8: Open Pace (3) ANOTHRMASTRPIECE N never got involved last week when stuck in the eight hole but he gets post relief here while meeting a smaller field and I imagine Bartlett will he handling the Shane Tritton trainee aggressively. (5) FUNATTHEBEACH N took advantage of an easy spot in his latest so Stratton worked his way to the lead and that was that. He figures to be off the pace again here but we have seen enough of this gelding to know that he can sweep by with ease. (1) PRICELESS BEACH has not gone a bad effort since arriving from Canada a few months ago. He does get a new pilot tonight in Marohn and smooth sailing can land him a piece. Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Race 9: NW35651 in last 5 starts Pace (2) AMERICAN DEALER N returns locally with a bit of class relief, and that last start at The Meadowlands signals that he's sharp and good to go here; don't forget he won a leg of the Borgata earlier this season. Long-time reader of this column and ace handicapper "The Big Guy" chimed in to state the Toscano trainee will end the guaranteed Pick-5 with a bang! (1) TRACEUR HANOVER has put in some monster efforts recently and Brennan may be looking to take this field as far as he can. (3) SPLASH BROTHER has developed into a rock-solid aged pacer for Schnittker and he's in with a legit chance here. Race 10: $50,000 Claiming Pace (3) ELWELL has missed a bit of time with a sick scratch when entered at Saratoga but assuming he's good to go the veteran is more than capable here, and likely has a tactical edge on rival (4) B LIKE CRUISER. The latter wired them last week after racing well with less-than-ideal trips in his prior two off the Dowse claim. (1) MACH DORO A just missed last week and is an obvious contender.
