SPOT PLAY - MAJESTIC BRAYDEN (7th)

Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace

(5) CHANGING COLORS scored an easy win over NW2's here at Yonkers on June 22. Driver Austin Siegelman picked off a Nick Devita horse to drive this filly again for trainer Gil Garcia-Herrera, and when this same situation occurred on Thursday night (July 23), Siegelman chose correctly and won with the Garcia-Herrera horse over the heavily-favored Devita horse. Maybe lightning will strike again here. (2) READY SET ROCK is the newcomer to the Devita barn here, shipping in from the Meadowlands where she was competitive in the New Jersey Sire Stakes. She showed good early speed across the river, so I assume that'll be Joe Bongiorno's plan here. (3) ACROBATTA broke in her first try for Harris in the New York Sire Stakes but qualified cleanly at Harrah's Philadelphia and meets up with much easier foes tonight.

Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot

(2) WATKINS didn't get involved in that race on June 29 from an outside post but draws much better tonight, and I expect driver Scott Zeron will have him on the pocket or in the lead like when this veteran was racing well back in February. (3) MADMAN HALL had every chance to win on 7-6 after setting an easy pace but got chased down by Yuge. He's a contender tonight as he remains in against NW5000L5's, but I have to look for a little better price given he probably should've sealed the deal last time. (4) TOUGH GET GOING made a miscue in his initial attempt for DiDomenico but has a winning history at Yonkers, and maybe Brennan knows him a little bit better this time.

Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace

(2) MISTER REBBILY A gets another crack at NW2's tonight thanks to his low career earnings. I imagine he'll be 1-5 or 1-9, but I won't try and beat him. (1) FAR BETTER hasn't shown much in his first two starts for Devita but does draw inside tonight, and I'll look for him to live up to his name. (4) WYATT J drops down from the NYSS program to give the NW2 class at Yonkers a try as he rejoins the Linda Toscano barn. He's still a maiden and this is his first-time on a half-mile track.

Race 4 - F&M NW8/100000LT Pace

(1) KENDRA N looks like another short-priced favorite on this card that's almost impossible to go against. She gets to drop out of the Open (where she was favored) into this race as she has earned less than $100,000 lifetime and drew the pole to boot. (2) ALII NUI has done well against good company over at Pocono lately and might be able to just follow Kendra N from the pocket. (8) SASKATOON was very, very good in the consolation event of that series on Monday but has to start from post position eight here. She did show plenty of early foot in that mile, so maybe Buter sends and hopes a hole opens up.

Race 5 - NW4/50000LT Pace

(5) VILLIAM finished third to two high-quality opponents two Mondays ago and meets up with a much more wide-open group here. Trainer Eric Abbatiello was able to get him on the lead at the Meadowlands once in June and I'll hope Marohn Jr. can here also. (8) BATTLE STRONG raced at Yonkers a couple times without success in December but worked his way up to the Preferred-3 level at Grand River in Ontario. Buter gets a chance to drive him tonight with Bartlett not here, and he might be keen to make a good impression with an Andrew Harris trainee. (6) HESALLABOUTDABASS took advantage of a drop into NW3000L5 company at Pocono to win most recently. He was fourth at Yonkers on the 22nd of June against NW4's.

Race 6 - NW8/100000LT Pace

(6) GLOBALDOMINATION N overcame post eight to to win on June 29, which was impressive since that had tripped him up before and he blasted away from the gate to make the front. He draws slightly better here, so I'm interested to see how Stratton races him. Regardless, I will use. (2) SPORTS TEEN returns to Yonkers after one try down at Harrah's Philadelphia. He was a good second behind Globaldomination N in that common race on 6-29, and I will look for him to be in the mix here as well. (1) THE MOONSHADOW N jumps up from a win in NW4 to NW8 tonight. He has beaten NW6's over at Pocono, but I don't think you can take a short-ish price on a horse taking this big a class hike.

Race 7 - NW10000L5/Winners in the Base Class NW5000L5 in Last Start/20000CLM Trot

(5) MAJESTIC BRAYDEN led and then gave way in that appearance on the 13th of July, but it was his first pari-mutuel try since back in March. He's second time Lasix tonight, and I will hope Mark MacDonald sails out of there again and has the lead or the pocket. (1) ADAGIO DE LA TOUR will probably be the favorite given the success he's had in this class and that he has the pole position. He has Brent Holland to call the shots in the bike this time. (3) INTEROVER was third against NW8 company two back at Yonkers, so this is probably an easier spot. This horse doesn't like to win much but is capable of hitting the board.

Race 8 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot

(3) AWESOMENESS kicked home sharply when dropped to this level on July 6. I expect a change in tactics tonight and for him to be much closer to the action. (2) ART HISTORY also stepped up with a better performance when he landed in the NW5000L5 class. Dennis Laterza's horses have been racing well in spots like this, and I think he can again here. (4) LORD OF MISRULE is an option to use underneath again, but I can't recommend a win bet on a horse who is just one for his last 40.
