MEET STATS: 251 - 759 / $1,281.20 (-$236.80) BEST BETS: 37 - 70 / $150.20 (+$10.20) Best Bet: BENJI'S BEST (11th) Spot Play: MOTIVE HANOVER (1st) Race 1: $75,000 Claiming Pace (6) MOTIVE HANOVER was not involved in the early pace scenario last week and closed mildly for a small share. Prior to that race the Jenn Bongiorno trainee reeled off two straight wins; with an alert getaway he can set up a trip behind the speedster (1) KEYSTONE PHOENIX. The latter will obviously be favored to try taking this field wire-to-wire. (2) EXPLOIT just missed two back then gamely prevailed last week with Braxton Boyd driving and he gets the return call tonight on the Laterza trainee. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: $50,000 Claiming Trot (1) WILD AND CRAZY GUY figures to be controlling the pace from the outset and the classy veteran is the most logical in here, but he has had trouble finishing off his miles. Include the Dowse trainee, but don't go nuts. (4) ZIG ZAG has much to prove at this level, but he's in a spot where Holland could take a shot off the gate and work out a live close-up trip. (3) BIG BAD SWAN was a winner from a similar spot two back and did close belatedly from too far back in his last try; DiDomenico trainee won't have as much ground to cover tonight. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW30495 in last 5 starts Pace (2) TRACEUR HANOVER has looked awesome in his recent two-race winning streak and the Burke trainee pretty much gets a free ride here; top billing. (4) MOVIN' ON UP was outfinished facing better last week upon arrival from Delaware; dip in class and reasonable post make him a player. (5) IM SIR BLAKE A was one of a number of judges scratches last Monday (Late for Lasix) but he's back in and has had a solid season so far with close to $150K banked. Race 4: $75,000 Claiming Pace (2) AMERICAN BOY N was gaining late and just missed last week; classy veteran hasn't put in a bad effort since being claimed by Cory Stratton for $40K and he's definitely capable here with a live setup. (1) BARBADOS did the best he could from the eight hole off the Bako reclaim as he rallied for a fifth-place check. Move all the way inside makes him the one to beat. (7) WICHITA LINEMAN never got involved last start from the outside as the winner was winging on the front end; Dowse trainee lands another poor post in his return to claimers but maybe Bartlett can sneak him in there at a price. Race 5: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) FORTIFY shipped in from Canada and went a long trip but was still gaining well at the end; he now moves into the Burke barn and lands an improved post. Gelding looks like the one in here. (3) EHRMANTRAUT returns to Yonkers after blowing away lesser in two straight at Philly; he looks to have regained his confidence as he faces better. (7) ONE EIGHT HUNDRED gives the half-mile track a try and the Takter trainee has loads of talent but has never quite put it all together. Does new driver Zeron take a shot off the gate? Race 6: $50,000 Claiming Pace (1) B LIKE CRUISER went a tough trip last week and ended up not getting beaten that badly in a race that went in 1:50 1/5. He gets Bartlett back in the bike while moving all the way inside and that makes the Dowse trainee imposing. (4) BECKHAMS Z TAM hasn't been all that bad recently and he gets Kakaley in the bike tonight as regular driver Dube sticks with the Garcia-Herrera trained (2) MACH DORO A, who gets much-needed post relief after being stuck in the eight hole last out. Race 7: $75,000 Claiming Pace (1) SMOKIN BY N takes an ambitious step up in class after blowing away $40K claimers with a strong back half in his debut for Garcia-Herrera. He may be sharp enough to double up. (5) ROLLING WITH SAM took advantage of last week's rail start and went wire-to-wire; if Kakaley gets him out in good order again he'll have a legit chance to repeat. (2) DON DOMINGO N has picked up third-place money in his three starts since the DiDomenico claim and he's in a good spot to hit the ticket again. Race 8: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace This race may set up for a closer with some unreliable speed signed on to the inside. Could that be (7) CARLISIMO? He faces much softer tonight and would probably be the favorite had he drawn better. (4) DIAMONDBEACH also gets major class relief but he's been off almost a month with a sick scratch from July 5; use caution. (2) IM A GIGOLO N was a winner at a comparable class last month but hasn't done much since then. A bit of improvement can land him a share. Race 9: Open Pace (4) RED RIGHT HAND returned locally for his last start but could not get by the well-rated and stubborn pacesetter. Takter trainee lands a reasonable post in this open draw and is a proven commodity here. (3) AMERICAN COURAGE is also a four-year-old (like the top choice) and he was a well-meant 1:49 4/5 winner when last at Yonkers. (5) NO LOU ZING is unfortunate to draw outside the top two but does have a tactical edge on his outside rivals. Smooth sailing can land him a share. I'm sure he'll have to go faster tonight to hold off some tough foes but I think he's capable. (3) CHASE H HANOVER gets Kakaley back in the bike and moves back inside. (4) PYRO almost always gives a good accounting of himself and has also been more consistent lately. Race 11: $50,000 Claiming Pace (4) BENJI'S BEST has been a monster since rejoining the Alexander barn including that 1:50 1/5 effort last out. He's the one to beat at a short price in the finale. (1) EL JACKO N had been knocking on the door for some time and finally broke through last week with a pocket-sitting win. Import draws the rail again. (2) BALLARAT BOOMERANG came up just short in his debut for Dowse off the $40K claim. [DRF HARNESS: Follow me on Twitter! @drfharnessmatt]
