Yonkers: Analysis for Monday 7/13/26
:quality(75))
2026 MEET STATS: 161 - 484 / $889.91 (-$78.09)
BEST BETS: 29 - 50 / $94.12 (-$5.88)
BEST BET: EVER HOPING A (3rd)
SPOT PLAY: AMERITRIC (6th)
Race 1: 3-6YO $30,000 Claiming Pace
(8) JK STEVES SPIRIT is a risky play from this post as he's in danger of not reaching contention but his first local start for a new barn was a decent down-the-road try and he does have that much-needed early speed; Kakaley drives at 12/1 ML. (3) OVERTHINKING was second best when dropped to this level and the Engblom trainee now gets Bartlett in the bike; he's the one to beat. (2) EVER M has won four straight for four different barns now he steps up a notch after being claimed again; should be a player again.

Race 2: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) GDS THUNDER GB finally put it together last out with an easy front-end score and he's in a good spot to repeat stepping up a level. (8) MUSIC HALL drops back to the level of his last win and that was out of the seven hole so clearly he's a fit with these, but won't win coming from last. Needs to get away well. (1) SAMHARA N hasn't done much since the Laterza claim but he drops from $30K claimers and draws best.
Race 3: $30,000 Claiming Pace
(2) EVER HOPING A was far back from the eight hole in a fast mile in his first start off the Dilloian Jr. claim. Moves inside, switches to Bartlett, looks to win as the chalk. (3) HEAVEN ON HIGH N has been second best in four of his last five races. (5) PRETTY LOU was a winner last week at Philly in his second start for the Burke barn and now drops in for a tag as he gives Yonkers a try.
Race 4: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) YOUNG BLUEY A returns to Yonkers after a good second last out at Philly where the winner paced in 1:48 3/5; Bako trainee was holding his own in the Invite prior to that. (5) EVILEYE FLEEGLE is now two for two in the Burke barn and may have another level or two in him. (2) BLUE LOU hasn't won in a while but he's been sharp and should be in line for a good trip.
Race 5: $40,000 Claiming Pace - $10K Gtd. Pick 5
(1) BETTOR BY SEASIDE recently won two consecutive races at this level then stepped up in class, drew the eight hole and had a nice view of the field throughout. Drops back down and moves back inside tonight. (5) LYRICAL GENIUS A was reclaimed by the Dilloian Jr. barn and gets Bartlett back in the bike. These connections teamed up for two consecutive wins back in May. (4) MANFERNO had noticeably tailed off in his last couple but maybe he just didn't function for that barn; veteran moves to the Laterza outfit via claim and could be better.
Race 6: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(7) AMERITRIC has looked like a new horse in his last two when Bartlett took over the driving. He steps up in class again and draws poorly but here's a chance to get a price on the sharpest horse in the race. (2) THE GREEK FREAK just missed two back from a similar spot and is very logical. (5) SPEAKER OF PEACE never got involved last start but was a close third two back at this level.
Race 7: 3-6YO Open Pace
(3) VERDUN had no chance from the eight hole last start but his prior effort he was second best to the raging Sweet Beach Life. Lachance trainee is ALWAYS a player when drawn well. (1) STERLING CHOICE earns another trip up to the top level and draws the rail while returning to Bartlett. (5) HOWLENTHEHILLS freshened up with a recent Pocono qualifier and he's not too far removed from that solid run through the Borgata series.
Race 8: Invitational Pace
The two most dangerous horses in here drew for the two outside posts and (5) MOSSDALE BEN N gets the tactical edge, especially with his ability to fire off the gate. (6) SWEET BEACH LIFE has been a monster here all year and doesn't necessarily need the front to win but if #5 pushes hard could he be left in no-mans land? (2) CATAPLA RESCUE A has also been razor sharp but Bartlett opted off for #4.

Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) CHASE H HANOVER is back at Yonkers for the first time since the Borgata and he returns now in the Bongiorno barn. Veteran pacer is a legit threat to take these wire to wire. (3) HEMSWORTH N is loaded with class and is very dangerous dropping back down in class. (5) THENU CAME ALONG A gets Bartlett in the bike for the Blackler barn. When they team up they must always be considered.
Race 10: $15,000 Claiming Pace
(1) OZONE BLUE CHIP is at the tail end of a solid career that's seen him bank almost $850K over 287 starts. Does he have anything left? From the rail picking up Bartlett facing a soft field I'll give him a try. (3) ROCKET FREIGHT was a winner three back from a similar spot and he's the only one in here who shows a victory in the last couple of months. (4) CRUNCH HANOVER rallied mildly upon arrival for a new barn and may have more to offer.
