MEET STATS: 227 - 640 / $1,269.60 (-$10.40)

Spot Play: EHRMANTRAUT (6th)
Race 1: $25,000 Claiming Pace
(2) BLUEBIRD RECON has raced well in most of his recent efforts and for multiple barns; the major post relief makes him an obvious contender. (3) MY MIND IS MADEUP has generally been good since moving to the Jenn Bongiorno barn but he's still seeking that elusive win; veteran should go well from this spot. (6) BIG SIR drops from $30's to $25's in his second local start; shows some early speed?

Race 2: $30,000 Claiming Pace
(3) MAROMA BEACH has bounced around different classes recently and while he did seem a bit overmatched in his last couple when in claimers this is clearly a softer spot and the DiDomenico trainee appears capable here with smooth sailing. (2) MAJOR CROCKER A has looked like a different horse in his last couple, even showing speed last week. (5) TIME OUT I'M TIRED never got involved last out but did pick off a few for the final check; his prior two starts were solid.
Race 3: $40,000 Claiming Pace
(5) IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N got away with soft numbers on the front end in his debut for Devita and won easily; veteran figures to have to work a bit harder tonight but he seems capable. (6) EFFRONTE A has jogged in two straight for this ridiculously hot barn and the Dowse trainee is up in class again looking for the hat trick. (2) GUMPTION was in a different zip code last week and probably needs a drop in class but if he can save and make one move he'll be a part of this.
Race 4: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) WALKINSHAW N dropped to NW7500 last out and walked to three quarters before sprinting home in :27; he's back up in class but in a position to control the action once again. (2) GLOBALDOMINATION N had an outside post coming out of the same race as the top one and never got involved; he'll be much closer to the pace tonight. (4) ALEPPO HANOVER has just one win over the last two seasons and he's up in class to face better but he does have some gate speed which can help him work out a nice trip.
Race 5: $50,000 Claiming Pace
(3) SOHO LEVIATHAN A has responded nicely in two starts for his new barn (Devita) after a long run with Vallee and he almost always offers a nice price; he's one of many in here with a legit chance. (5) FOREVER FAV has worked his way nicely up the class ladder for Team Bongiorno and the versatile gelding has never been better. (1) YANKEE BOOTS arrived from Northfield last week and got the job done at 1/5 odds; he goes for Josh Green now off the claim and draws inside again; sure he can win this but it's hard to get excited about his potential closing odds in this competitive affair.
Race 6: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) EHRMANTRAUT drops back down to the level of his last win and I expect him to be aggressively handled. (1) NONE BETTOR A has been a massive disappointment this year but with that said it's hard to imagine him not being competitive here. (2) BRONX SEELSTER hung late making his second move last week and finished out of the money; prior to that he had been good making his way back up the class ladder.
Race 7: Open Handicap Pace
Amazing that this overnight race goes for $45,000 and it's not even that "strong" of a field…(5) DRAGON SAID was toiling in cheap Freehold races at the beginning of the year and now he's the pick in the pacing feature! I don't know what else to say, other than a repeat of that recent 1:49 4/5 mile will get it done here. (4) MACH N CHEESE was a winner here three back with Bartlett driving. (1) PYRO seems to have tailed off in his last couple and has missed a couple of weeks of action but he can get well in a hurry from this spot.
Race 8: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) BUDDY HILL has really found his stride and seems to be in career form for the Alexander barn; he's more than capable of winning again. (5) ON THE CARDS N went a huge mile in defeat two back and he deserves respect off that effort. (1) BILL HALEY N drew well again which should make him a contender.
Race 9: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) WINDSUN RICKY made a big recovery after an early break two back so it wasn't surprising to see him come back and win next out; he bumps back up a notch but draws well and will never be too far back from this spot. (3) SHNEONUCRZYDIAMD A is a horse I would rather not select (so I don't have to spell his name!) but the fact is he's a proven commodity at these upper-conditioned levels and he may be put on the front end by Dube. (1) FUNKNWAFFLES is having a decent comeback season at age seven and he moves all the way inside which makes him a prime contender (and likely favorite).
Race 10: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) KEEP ON ROCKING A is back from his home base and is 7 for 8 in the money here this year (with three wins). Todd McCarthy should be sending this guy down the road. (1) PERFECTLY CLOSE will be in line for a live stalking trip and can land a nice piece. (5) BLACK CHEVRON N is up in class again and has been looking pretty good recently; Zeron picks up the drive tonight but I think drawing outside of the top choice limits him to a smaller share tonight.

Race 11: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) SOME WARATAH A has tailed off in his last few but he finds a bit of a softer spot here and he's reunited with Tyler Buter, and they teamed up for a win a couple of months ago. (2) SAN DOMINO A lands in a live spot and could be the one to catch. (4) BETTOR MEMORIES does his best work a notch or two down but he's classy enough to carve out a share.
Race 12: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) MICKY GEE N finally found his best stride to power home and get back to the winner's circle; a similar trip may be looming tonight and he's certainly classy enough to double up. (3) CAVIART LUCA drops from the Open and the Burke-trained millionaire can still bring it. (7) NANDOLO N was a strong winner last out, drawing away from the field at odds-on. Recent import for Shane Tritton faces a tough task from this spot but he may be good enough, and should offer some value.
