MEET STATS: 197 - 544 / $1,116.60 (+$28.60) BEST BETS: 26 - 55 / $82.80 (-$27.20) Best Bet: LYONS WILLIAM (8th) Spot Play: LEVINE (6th) Race 1: $20,000-$25,000 Claiming Handicap Pace (8) BLUEBIRD RECON goes for a new barn off the claim after just getting nailed in a game try; landing the eight hole is tough but Holland is good at getting these types away from the gate in good order and this field is littered with question marks. (2) TOWNLINE FLIGHT tends to gap some but Clegg did win with him two back after sitting a distant pocket. (6) CAPTAIN NASH picked up small pieces recently in NW15000 and now he drops in for a tag; Koch trainee looks like he may fit well here. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: $25,000 Claiming Pace (4) MISSISSIPPI RABBIT wired a field of $30K claimers here three back with Bongiorno driving and he returns in a similar spot. (1) ROCK ON LINE seems to have tailed off but the Devita trainee gets needed post relief and should be closer to the pace. (7) CHANGE STRIDE N didn't fire facing better last start but was a solid pocket-sitting winner versus this type two back. Like the first race he may be live at a big morning-line for the same connections. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) BRONX SEELSTER drops in class again for Shane Tritton and he should have a clear path to the front if Bartlett employs speed tactics; he's running out of excuses. (2) LUCIANO N is feeling good again and should land a nice piece facing better. (4) SILAS SEELSTER should be a player here with his good closing kick. Race 4: $50,000-$75,000 Claiming Handicap Pace (1) LACHIE MAGUIRE N was a strong winner when last at Yonkers and he followed that up with a couple of rugged tries at Saratoga; this barn has been good here this season with limited starters. (2) PICARD A has banked over $32K in three starts after being claimed for $20K by Milici and he figures to come away here with a nice chunk of this large purse. (3) REVELRY goes for another new barn off the claim (Gillis) and he gets Stratton in the bike; player. Race 5: $30,000 Claiming Pace (1) RECORD YEAR has been solid in all recent starts and the races he didn't hit the board he was post-compromised; gelding moves all the way inside and figures to be in line for a live trip. (3) TWIN B SPEEDO threw in a rare clunker last out but I wouldn't be surprised if the Burke trainee bounced back with a much better effort. (2) ROCK THE NITE is another sharp contender in here from a good inside post, along with (4) MARTY MONKHOUSER A and (5) TALK SHOW. Hard to see the outside three getting involved. Race 6: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) LEVINE graduated from the NW conditioned races into this base NW15000 class and had some bad luck with his trip. Zeron figures to be heading out to the front from this spot and he can lead these a long way. (1) IMSTAYNALIVE is up in class for the fourth straight start going for four wins in a row for Lachance; hard to love at a short price but also hard to dismiss him. (2) WARDAN EXPRESS A would be more of a win candidate a level or two down but he can fill out the ticket from this good post. Race 7: Open Pace Last week (1) RAUKAPUKA RULER N was assigned the eight hole coming off his wire-to-wire Open win but they cancelled. Now he faces mostly the same group of pacers but it's an open draw and he lands the rail. What a country! (2) SOME WARATAH A powered home in two straight up at Saratoga from off the pace and he returns to Yonkers going for five straight overall. Are we looking at a "1/2 chalk exacta box" in the weekly pacing co-feature? It's almost like this race was flipped upside-down… Looks like a crapshoot for the rest. Race 8: $40,000 Claiming Pace (2) LYONS WILLIAM has been rock-solid since the Jeff Gillis claim, and that loss in his last start can be chalked up to the tough trip. He looks like the one to beat here. (4) ROCK LIGHTS returns locally for Team Bongiorno coming off a win at The Big M in a mid-range conditioned pace; he closed with plenty in his last two Yonkers tries. (1) UPTOWN FUNK has been a steady earner in his five races since hitting town. Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) EHRMANTRAUT was a bit overmatched in his last start at Philly but he raced just fine in practically every Yonkers start this year and he does face a bit softer tonight. (2) CAN B PERFECT has been a bit soft in the win column recently but he's picked up a bunch of seconds and thirds; from this spot he should be right there again. (4) FLYING FINN N never got close last out in a race dominated by inside speed but the modest class and post relief should help his cause. Race 10: NW20250 in last 5 starts Pace (7) ROCKIN SPEED charged home last week at The Meadowlands, making his first start since moving to the Jenn Bongiorno barn. He faces some good ones in here from an outside post but will offer a much better price than the other main contenders. (1) NANDOLO N took all the dough in his second U.S. start and did not disappoint with a scintillating 1:48 4/5 score at The Big M; Shane Tritton trainee tries the half-mile tonight and will take all the money. (3) MICKY GEE N should still be considered a player whenever he draws well, which is the case tonight. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 11: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) ESCAPETOTHEBEACH has raced well in every Yonkers start since shipping in for Virgil Morgan, Jr. and he gets to face a bit easier tonight; top billing. (1) GENIUS MAN gets tested for class but it's hard to fault his form. (5) PEACE OUT POSSE was a no-match second best last out to Pyro, who would probably be a big favorite facing these; Bongiorno entrant must be respected. Race 12: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) LETS HAVE ANOTHER finished 8th and 9th in his last two but I suppose he had excuses; Pete Tritton trainee should be heading to the front and can take these wire-to-window. (2) SKIP TO MY LOU is a legit talent for owner/trainer/driver Joe Chindano, Jr. (1) CASUAL COOL does have two local wins here this season, though facing softer. Renaud trainee returns locally looking for three straight.
