Yonkers: Analysis for Monday 4/5

MEET STATS: 114 - 309 / $598.70 (-$19.30)
BEST BETS: 15 - 31 / $49.60 (-$12.40)
Best Bet: KEPT UNDER WRAPS A (5th)
Spot Play: MOONSHINE KISSES (8th)
Race 1: $20,000 Claiming Pace
(1) DRINKA BEER bounced back from a poor showing three back with a solid effort to be second best for his new barn then never got involved last week. He moves all the way inside and should be in line for a perfect trip. (5) MCARDLES LIGHTNING is reunited with Brennan (with Bartlett surprisingly opting to #7) and he should be forwardly placed here. (2) LANAS DESIRE was an interesting claim last week by Garcia-Herrera and while he's facing some good ones in here he deserves consideration on the barn change alone.

Race 2: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) EHRMANTRAUT was able to comfortably secure the front last week and cruised home to an easy victory. Daguet trainee faces some classier foes tonight but he seems sharp enough to get it done. (4) CAVIART LUCA is still a solid top-level pacer for Burke after all these years and he goes for two straight. (1) THE REAL ONE looked a bit like his old self with last week's uncovered score. It helped that the leader was counterfeit but he still showed determination holding off the rival on his back.

Race 3: $15,000 Claiming Pace
(5) P H KENNY hasn't even been all that great recently but he keeps getting claimed. He goes back to the Devita barn tonight and bumps up in class but was Stratton's choice and should offer a decent price. (1) BLAYDE HANOVER goes to Laterza off the claim and draws best looking for four straight; 6/5 morning-line choice won't offer much value. (2) PEMBROKE JOEY rallied for a small check last start and now gets important post relief.
Race 4: MGM Borgata Pacing Series
(4) THIS IS THE PLAN has yet to win through three legs of the series but he's racking up points with those second-place finishes and drawing inside (5) LET IT RIDE N clearly gives Gingras the tactical edge. The latter never got involved from post eight last start for whatever reason and then he took last week off. Needless to say the talent is there and it will be interesting to see how Dunn drives him tonight. (3) WESTERN FAME has clearly been off his game but his early speed is still a powerful weapon.
Race 5: $25,000-$30,000 Claiming Handicap Pace
(4) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A took the money and blasted down the road off the DiDomenico/Brennan claim; game plan should be the same tonight. (3) ROCK ON LINE was claimed by Devita for $12,500 three back and has a win and a recent fourth from a bad spot since; sharp sort gets post relief and could be competitive. (8) TWIN B SPEEDO has been on a huge run for the Alexander barn and he got taken last out by Burke. He's off three weeks and is stuck in post eight with speed to his inside; tough spot.
Race 6: MGM Borgata Pacing Series
(4) ROCKAPELO was never really regarded as a top-notch pacer but the Burke trainee sure is peaking at the right time; post advantage on (7) WESTERN JOE could make the difference. The latter absolutely exploded home to win going away last week and he's got a huge chance to repeat despite starting from the worst post. (1) SHERIFF N basically toured the oval in the first three legs of this series but he draws all the way inside and Dube will be looking to secure a live trip.
Race 7: MGM Borgata Pacing Series
(3) SEMI TOUGH has quietly blossomed very nicely for the Burke stable to the point where he can be considered a legit player in this series. Gelding should offer the best price of the contenders. (4) LEONIDAS A is back after taking a well-deserved week off; is it possible we still haven't seen his best yet? (2) LYONS STEEL just missed second to Western Joe last week after sitting a pocket trip and he draws well again here. Corey Callahan comes in to drive with Siegelman obviously choosing Leonidas A.
Race 8: Preferred Handicap Pace
(1) MOONSHINE KISSES has been in solid form of late, doing it from on and off the pace; he lands the best post here and it's conceivable that Mark Macdonald tries taking control from start to finish. (6) KEEP ON ROCKING A was conservatively handled by Todd McCarthy last week as he quickly took back to trail the field and obviously had no chance as the favorite; he gets a bit better post here and is hopefully put in play. (5) TWIN B TUFFENUFF also had little chance last out but overall he's been going very well.

Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) IDEAL STAR N tends to be a bit erratic but he's flashed serious ability at times and he was really moving well in the late stages last week. With some sort of live trip he could be right there at a price. (1) TITO ROCKS returns off a nice win at Pocono and the four-year-old was a winner in NW8 here a couple of months ago. (2) TOOKADIVEOFFDIPPER dropped out of the Borgata after one round and took care of NW10000 on the engine; Lachance trainee is up in class a notch but draws well and should be close to the pace throughout.
Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) NO ORDINARY MAN managed to garner small shares in his last few races at the NW15000 level and perhaps the drop in class can get him over the top here at a nice price, in a race where nobody seems to stand out. (4) SOHO WALLSTREET A may have regained some confidence with last week's front-end score at Freehold. (1) FLYING FINN N faces better going for three straight overall; hails from a sharp barn.
