MEET STATS: 114 - 309 / $598.70 (-$19.30)

Best Bet: TWIN B SPEEDO (2nd)
Spot Play: ROLLWITHPAPAJOE (8th)
Race 1: $20,000 Claiming Pace
(8) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A was used in the early stages last week and did come up a bit flat late; he drops back to the level of the claim three back and Brennan will undoubtedly have him rolling early. He can beat these if not used too hard overcoming the eight hole. (4) P H KENNY went well off the Devita reclaim and just missed last start; he bumps up a notch but seems sharp enough to be competitive here. (7) LANAS DESIRE raced gamely first out for Garcia-Herrera but faces an uncertain trip tonight; consider underneath at a healthy price.

Race 2: $30,000-$40,000 Claiming Handicap Pace
(3) TWIN B SPEEDO had a bit of a peculiar trip last week, but that was a needed start after missing a bit of time. Recent Burke claim should be back firing on all cylinders tonight.(2) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN lands his first good post in some time and his early speed will set him up nicely here. (1) EGOMANIA drops back in for a tag, draws better and Tetrick picks up the catch-drive.

Race 3: $20,000-$25,000 Claiming Handicap Pace
(2) OHOKA JOHNNY N makes his second start off the Williams Hernandez claim and last week's effort was a bit tough to gauge but being back in on consecutive weeks won't hurt. (1) CONTROL TOWER had a great three-race run with Blumenfeld and was just claimed for $7,500 more than they paid; sharp sort can obviously take another but he doesn't seem worth a short price in this well-matched affair. (5) ROCK ON LINE took all the money last week and delivered; can he trip out to repeat? Maybe.
Race 4: MGM Borgata Pacing Series 5th leg
(1) BACKSTREET SHADOW was run over late by the huge rally of Western Joe then took last week off. From this spot Tetrick may not have to work that hard to control these. (3) SAN DOMINO A hasn't done much wrong through his three series trials, with a win, a second and a third. He should grab another big share tonight. (6) WESTERN JOE is beyond sharp and last week's win was just ridiculous; unfortunately he draws the worst post again.
Race 5: MGM Borgata Pacing Series 5th leg
It almost seems unfair that (6) CHIEF MATE draws another horrid post but the 4-year-old continues to race well from bad spots and I would love to see Zeron try and get him in play earlier. (4) SEMI TOUGH gets away from the big guns in the series and the Burke trainee has quietly been very good. (3) MACH N CHEESE has also been going well for lower-profile connections; I believe he has an outside chance of making the final.
Race 6: MGM Borgata Pacing Series 5th leg
(1) LEONIDAS A was able to the secure the front again rather easily last week and was on cruise control from there to take his fourth straight 2021 start (and fifth overall). He faces some tough ones here but has the clear post edge and I can't see him getting beat. (6) THIS IS THE PLAN was in a good spot last week and Gingras took full advantage sending this guy down the road in 1:51 1/5. He seems to have the most pure speed in here and could hit the top without too much trouble. (5) HESA KINGSLAYER N has been impossible to fault as he's also perfect in the Borgata. Deters trainee could be at a bit of a tactical disadvantage as he seems more trip-dependent.
Race 7: Open Handicap Pace
(4) THE REAL ONE finds his way back to the Open level and he's sharp enough to make it three straight in this watered-down event. (2) PYRO could not sustain a two-move effort last week but his brush and brush win two back was impressive. (6) TWIN B TUFFENUFF fired to the front and was never in doubt last week; Burke trainee is live enough to repeat.

Race 8: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) ROLLWITHPAPAJOE remains razor-sharp despite just having no realistic chance from the eight hole last start; post relief here gives the Jenn Bongiorno trainee a big chance here. (3) AMERICAN MERCURY just missed in the first leg of the Borgata then seemed to regress from there, but I'm sure the string of poor posts had something to do with that. He should fit very nicely here. (1) HEISMAN PLAYER hasn't been able to fill the win column since hiking to this NW20000 level but it's not like he's been bad in any of those starts; from this inside post he should come away with a nice share.
Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) GRATIAN HANOVER was a bit conservatively handled last start and ended up making little noise coming uncovered; veteran fits with this type and can get it done here with a smooth trip. (1) MIGHTY SANTANA N bumps back up in class off a nice win and the barnmate to Hesa Kingslayer N will likely be favored to win another. (6) MARK WITHA K had no chance last week but overall he's been feeling really good and he'll be a big price here; consider underneath.
Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 starts
(3) BETTOR THAN SPRING returned locally in a soft spot and was a pretty confident winner despite the final margin only being a neck; he's got the back class to be successful facing better. (1) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N takes a needed drop in class tonight and he gets major post relief; Veteran import can get well in a hurry. (4) QUATRAIN BLUE CHIP also gets some class and post relief and the combo of Dube and Garcia-Herrera has been live now for an extended period of time.
