2026 MEET STATS: 30 - 100 / $149.26 (-$50.74) BEST BETS: 6 - 10 / $17.42 (-$2.58) BEST BET: HEMSWORTH N (8th) SPOT PLAY: SIX DEGREES (5th) Race 1: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (3) KINGSVILLE's last race can be ignored as he pulled up with broken equipment but he's been competitive in all recent efforts, mostly facing a class or two higher. (5) BOILING OAR banked almost $100K last year despite only three wins, but he's in the money often. Switches from claimers to this class and has some speed. (1) WINDSUN RICKY found a winning spot last out, draws the rail again but faces better; keeps Bartlett and does have class. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: $30,000 Claiming Pace (2) SOUTHWIND PETYR is a proven winner with this type and the move back inside puts this veteran right in the mix. (8) WALKINSHAW N has the eight hole and needs an alert getaway but the price will be there and Bartlett sticks with the 14YO. (5) ALTA CLASSIC A tired after a speedy trip first out for the Laterza barn; Holland can make the front again tonight. Race 3: NW31501 in last 5 starts Pace (5) VICIOUS debuts for new connections off last week's $75K claim and there doesn't appear to be a ton of early speed to his inside so maybe new driver Kelly can grab the front and try to wire these, or more likely end up in a pocket to #1. However you slice it he'll offer the much bigger price. (1) DIEGO N went right down the road from post eight to score in his second off the bench; odds-on here to repeat. (2) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH is up in class again looking for three straight. Last week was a solid two-move effort. Race 4: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (1) WHITE LOTUS crushed two back in his local return then we all saw what happened last week when odds-on again. He's forced to move up another notch but is in another controlling spot and deserves a chance to rebound. (4) MR. HUGGINS ships in for Stalbaum and picks up a catch driver in Joe Bongiorno. I think the 4YO fits with these. (2) INTIMIDATION goes for two straight but loses Holland to #5; Gingras picks up the drive. Race 5: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) SIX DEGREES has raced well against some good ones recently and has come close but has been unable to get over the hump. Adamczyk trainee picks up Bartlett from a decent post and is overdue. (5) TENZING BROMAC N and (4) AMMO are both stepping up off solid wins; in the case of #5 he's looking to remain perfect through three seasonal starts. Race 6: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (1) AMERICAN DEALER N failed to get the job done last week as the big chalk and that puts him at 3 for 37 over the last year-plus. He gets a new driver with Joe B. listed and the Toscano veteran is arguably facing the softest competition he's seen in ages. (5) OPTICAL ILLUSION N hasn't raced at night since December but is a legit player if ready. (2) OVERTHINKING gets Bartlett in the bike for Engblom and has raced well recently but has failed to win; needs to step it up. Race 7: Invitational Pace (6) PINNY TIGER A finished second in his North American debut but all he's done since then is win seven of eight with a scant head defeat mixed in. Engblom import is the real deal and can top this group despite the six hole. I don't want to fall too much in love with him however as there is legit talent in here, starting to the horse on his inside (5) ALWAYS A THRILL, who has cruised in two straight to start his campaign. Kakaley drives tonight and we'll see how aggressive he is off the switch. (1) MOSSDALE BEN N is a certified closer who won't be too far back in this exclusive Invitational with only six total entrants. Race 8: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) HEMSWORTH N finished close last week and that was after a gap in time between his last two starts; right back in the box and with a good post makes this veteran a legit contender. (5) HIMSELF N is back up in class again this time off a loss but he's got speed and here's another Lance Hudson trainee on the card that Bartlett sticks with. (4) DUNKIN' is back for his 6YO campaign and is he ready to win at first asking? I don't think so but I think he can race well for a piece. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: 3-6YO $30,000 Claiming Pace This class is usually pretty competitive and one who's always in the mix is (5) WHY TOMORROW RAY. Despite not having a win since last October the Laterza trainee finished well in his last couple in claimers and Holland's been known to get aggressive if the front end is in sight. (1) SCRIBBLERS came up just shy in his debut for the Cassar barn off the claim; he steps up a bit in price but lands the innermost post. (8) TOPVILLE SOMEBEACH gets Kelly in the bike as he debuts for new connections and he has left the gate from outside posts in the past; obviously it's all about the start. Race 10: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (1) SINBAD N drops and lands the rail in his third return start from Ohio and he gets one more chance from me. (5) THE GREEK FREAK gets much-needed class relief and this may be an opportunity for regular driver Kakaley to get more aggressive. (6) ROCKIN JUKEBOX was a strong winner last weekend at The Meadowlands and we'll see if that newfound form holds up in his Yonkers return.
