Yonkers: Analysis for Monday 2/22

MEET STATS: 43 - 139 / $204.50 (-$73.50)
BEST BETS: 8 - 14 / $26.80 (-$1.20)
Best Bet: SOHO LENNON A (4th)
Spot Play: GRATIAN HANOVER (2nd)
Race 1: $20,000 Claiming Pace
(3) CHACHING HANOVER gets some needed post improvement and while he isn't really proven at this level he has a tactical advantage on some of his main rivals here and he was Dube's choice of three. (1) PEMBROKE JOEY hiked to this level last week and was overtaken but did hold for third; he may be left alone on the front end again. (8) GUNPOWDER N closed with plenty last week and remains razor-sharp but must contend with post eight.

Race 2: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) GRATIAN HANOVER didn't fire last week at The Meadowlands but that was his first start back from a layoff and he likely needed the race; Jenn Bongiorno trainee was a winner here when last at this level and the veteran gets brave from live inside spots. (4) ROCK DIAMONDS N may have won last week if he got clear sooner; Cushing veteran is a major player here. (2) BLACK CHEVRON N was too far back to threaten last race on a night where not much was closing.

Race 3: $25,000/$30,000 Claiming Pace
(4) FOX VALLEY INFERNO is up in class again going for another new barn but he's so sharp it's scary; Bartlett’s choice. (6) TWIN B SPEEDO got back on the winning track last week and he stays at the winning level; obvious player again. (5) GIVENUPDREAMING has been racing well of late but has just been at a tactical disadvantage in many of those races; 10-year-old moves to the Brandon Todd barn off the claim and he should land a good piece of this.
Race 4: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) SOHO LENNON A drops back to the NW10000 level after being completely uninvolved from post eight facing better last start; note the same pattern from two and three back. Classy vet should make it to the front at some point and can take these the distance. (2) ANTHEM N gets much-needed post relief and is usually right there when drawn well; Stratton sticks. (4) BILL HALEY N drops in class again for Lance Hudson and I have to believe eventually we're going to see more from this guy when he finds his proper level.
Race 5: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) BLOOD LINE has been racing decently across the river and has had plenty of local success in the past; he'll be overbet here but does seem like the most likely winner. (1) MYKINDACHIP isn't especially sharp right now but he drops in class and draws inside again. This could be a crapshoot for third, but maybe (7) TIGER BARON can sneak onto the ticket; Ken Koch trainee hasn't put in a bad effort in ages.
Race 6: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) MIGHTY SANTANA N returns locally off a nice win at Pocono and he raced very well here in a couple of starts last month; Deters trainee appears to land in a very live spot tonight. (1) LYONS KING gets much-needed post relief and Stratton sticks with him. (4) RAUKAPUKA RULER N aired it out on the front end last week versus better and gave way; Dunn picks up the drive and they'll likely be coming from off the pace.
Race 7: Open Handicap Pace
(7) LEONIDAS A makes his seasonal debut off a winning qualifier and it would appear he's ready to go. Potomac winner is assigned post seven but doesn't meet a particularly tough Open group tonight. Is he ready to fire his best? (3) CARLISIMO is arguably in career form for Lance Hudson and he lands a decent starting spot. (5) I'M SOME GRADUATE was up against it in his last two but has a legit chance here if Brennan can get him in play early.
Race 8: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) TELLITSABB returns from Ohio riding a two-race winning streak and note he won five of six here last year. (3) MAC'S JACKPOT employed interesting tactics last week as he blasted down the road before fizzling out; He's better than he's been showing. (4) CAPOZZO may be best a level down but he's been very consistent of late and he can hit the ticket with a smooth trip.

Race 9: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) TOOKADIVEOFFDIPPER was unable to get involved in his last two from outside posts while facing better. Three back at this NW20000 level Lachance took the field wire-to-wire. (5) KEEP ON ROCKING A arrived last week from Rosecroft and was a good second to a very well-meant winner. (8) PYRO was stacked wide leaving last out, then rallied well but had too far to come. Recent Garcia-Herrera purchase is razor-sharp but unfortunately is stuck all the way outside.
Race 10: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) ARTIE'S IDEAL was one of seemingly dozens of nice horses who never got involved last Monday; post relief should make him a major player tonight. (1) WALKINSHAW N flew home from nowhere in last at a huge price; now he moves inside and will take plenty of money. (3) MIKE'S Z TAM was a bit overmatched in last week's Open; this is a better spot.
