2025 MEET STATS: 7 - 20 / $105.60 (+$65.60)…go figure! BEST BETS: 2 -2 / $6.10 (+$2.10) BEST BET: SPORT SECRET (2nd) SPOT PLAY: LAYTON HANOVER (8th) Race 1: 3-6YO $30,000 Claiming Pace (6) FLIP MY CHIP has been razor-sharp despite getting collared last week and now he stays at the same level debuting for Devita off the claim; top call despite being at a bit of a post disadvantage. (7) MUSIC HALL battled in the $40K claimers last out for Bongiorno but tired; drops back to a class where he should be more competitive and should offer good value from out there. (4) J B GRAM goes from Engblom to Adamczyk via claim and he's another who has been sharp but this barn has just been 'okay' since returning from the break. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) SPORT SECRET finished fourth last out at The Meadowlands against a good field and he was a sharp winner there the two prior starts; he returns to Yonkers facing a very beatable group of NW20000 types and has the feel of an odds-on lock. (5) FAMILY RECIPE does his best work at lower levels but he was a good second in his first start in five weeks and he can be forwardly placed here. (2) HAZEVILLE is off time but the good draw should enable him to stay close and he can land a piece. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (3) TWIN B DELUXE was hung to dry in his seasonal debut and understandably faded; I'll give him another chance from a similar spot. (1) EVER HOPING A gets both class and post relief for Cushing; major player from the rail. (8) TWIN B HEART THROB returns locally and was 10 for 17 in the money at Yonkers last year and equally proficient in 2023 as well; Eight hole makes things tough, however. Race 4: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) HUNTING ZONE rolled down the road in his debut for the Cullipher barn making it two straight; he steps up to face tougher but will be an honest price with the likes of #1 getting the attention. (1) HEZA CHARTTOPPER A was a strong winner in his U.S. debut for Blackler/Bartlett but did come up a bit short in recent Big M tries; obvious one to beat here but offers no value. (4) CADILLAC BAYAMA went evenly in his 2024 debut for Lachance and seems capable of offering more now. Race 5: $30,000 Claiming Pace (2) HEISMAN PLAYER rolled by late once clear to upset in his 2024 debut and paid $34 as my top pick; might as well stick with him here though we'll probably get about $7 this time around. (3) MEMPHISTENNESSEE N didn't fire from third over in the same race the top choice won but he figures to be looking at a better trip tonight and he's beaten these in the past at a price. (1) IM A POWERPLAY A can be excused for last week's last-place finish as he went a long trip but now he moves all the way inside. Race 6: $50,000 Claiming Pace (4) MIND HUNTER offered nothing as the chalk last week when trying to move in a fast back half in his first start back from the holidays but his two December outings were solid wins so maybe he can turn things around here for the Adamczyk barn. (5) ORLANDO BLUE A brushed and crushed as one of Dilloian's sharp starters. Obviously he can repeat but he'll likely be overbet. (3) LYRICAL GENIUS A finished third after saving ground coming out of the same race as the top two; he does have a post advantage here. Race 7: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) ROCK DIAMONDS N pretty much picked up where he left off last year and the 12YO uber-classy veteran can take these down the road. (2) FUNATTHEBEACH N should be tighter off last week's effort and he draws better. (5) BACKSTREET SHADOW is tough to figure here; clearly he's lost a step or two but he should still be more than capable here on class alone. Race 8: Invitational Pace (1) LAYTON HANOVER is back from Delaware and back into the Travis Alexander barn. He's got eight wins at Yonkers over the past two seasons and a cozy rail assignment here; let's see what he can do with it. (6) AARDIES FLASH N is perfect in four starts since arriving from Down-Under and it looks like he's gotten stronger each time. He's off over five weeks, however, and also listed to go at The Meadowlands over the weekend, so it's unclear where he'll race. (3) FINVARRA A earns a trip back to the top level after last week's going-away victory. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: $40,000 Claiming Pace (7) LOUS THE ATTITUDE sometimes has trouble finishing and technically does step up in price but he faces a pretty shaky field here and the Engblom trainee has the speed to make the front. (4) ITALIAN LAD N returns from The Meadowlands has been competitive with this type in the past. (8) BECHERS BROOK A is stuck in post eight again but he was able to improve position early in that start and will need to do so again. May be a tough task with #7 likely to leave inside of him. Race 10: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace Here's hoping (5) LEONIDAS A gets put into play tonight. Last week, his first start in over a month, he failed to get involved from post seven. This does feel like a better spot. (3) SHADOW CAT finished a steady third in his first start for the Engblom barn after a long run with Tom Fanning. Bartlett drives again and may be favored despite the slight bump in class. (2) TRANSPARENCY was a strong winner in his seasonal debut and looks to repeat; Brennan drives tonight with Stratton on Gillis trainee (6) ULTIMAROCA, who also has a legit chance here.
