Yonkers: Analysis for Monday 12/6

Matt Rose|Dec 03, 2021
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 410 - 1221 / $2,193.70 (-$248.30)

BEST BETS: 56 - 113 / $174.40 (-$51.60)

Best Bet: TATTOO ARTIST (10th)

Spot Play: AMERICAN WIGGLE (5th)

Race 1: $30,000 Claiming Pace

(3) DESIRE'S CAPTAIN has been racing just evenly of late but the Jenn Bongiorno trainee did finish well last week; gelding takes a needed drop in class to the $30K level and draws well. (1) THISJETSABOOKIN came up empty last week when up in class but he drops back to the level of his wire-to-wire win two back; obvious threat to take these wire-to-wire. (4) FOX VALLEY INFERNO was claimed out of his latest for $40K but he's entered for $30K in his first start for his new connections. Obviously that's a huge red flag but this barn has done great recently with reformed pacer Magritte.

Race 2: $40,000 Claiming Pace

(6) ELWELL has been solid since moving to the Dowse barn and has even added early speed to his arsenal. He can take this with an alert getaway and smooth trip. (4) YANKEE ROLLER A drops in for a $40K tag tonight for Nifty Norman and he may prove to be a good fit with this type. Price should be right. (2) REGAL SON was aggressively put on the front end last week and got the best of the top choice Elwell; he goes for a new barn tonight looking to maintain his good form.

Race 3: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(8) TIGER BARON takes a much-needed major drop in class tonight and despite drawing the eight hole I expect Bongiorno to get him in play. He'll need some help with the trip but should offer value in the wagering. (1) TOM ME GUN N was a strong winner when last at this level and Kakaley drove that night as well. (3) PEPPER GUY drops out of claimers and picks up Dexter Dunn.

Race 4: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) PATRIOT NATION took a road trip to Patriot Nation and picked up a win at Plainridge; he's back locally and ends up with the rail due to the early scratch of #1; Harris trainee could be a good fit with this type and may be a bit overlooked in the wagering. (6) FLYING FINN N lands outside of his main rivals but he's been very sharp in his last two. (5) DIAMONDBEACH closed very crisply last start, but that was three weeks ago.

Race 5: $40,000 Claiming Pace

(4) AMERICAN WIGGLE has been going okay lately for Burke and he draws midpack in this competitive affair while trying Gingras in the bike tonight; couldn't fault anyone for using him on top. (1) GINGER TREE PETE is back up in class off the Shane Tritton claim and he looks for two in a row. (3) BRAVO TEX N has been third best in his last two versus similar.

Race 6: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) MOONSHINE KISSES is at his best on or near the lead and MacDonald may have a clear path to the front tonight. (5) NONE BETTOR A just got nipped on the engine in last week's Open and he should be a big player again. (6) CAPTAIN BARBOSSA is another in here coming out of that same Open race and he had too much ground to cover; will it be the same case tonight for the Alagna-trained 4-year-old?

Race 7: $75,000 Claiming Pace

(4) BIG SIR has transitioned from NW5000 failure to $75K claiming winner in a matter of two months; he picks up Stratton tonight and has every right to repeat. (3) AMERICAN BOY N has been sharp for a while now and he gets needed post relief. (5) FOREVER FAV upset last week with Yannick on the catch drive and he's in a similar spot tonight.

Race 8: $100,000 Claiming Pace

(2) WHITECOOKIE was hammered to 50 cents on the dollar last week and the Burke trainee failed miserably; Gingras drives tonight looking to rebound, at a much better price. (3) TELLITSABB saw his winning streak snapped last start when he gave way to increasing pressure; he moves back inside and is an obvious player. (4) SOHO LENNON A is having another solid year at age 11 and the super-classy import was an off-the-pace upset winner last week.

Race 9: $40,000 Claiming Pace

(1) DINA BOLT N lost contact badly last week when 104/1 from the eight hole but he was claimed out of that race by Jenn Bongiorno. Solid effort two back makes me think he can go with these. (3) JOJO'S PLACE jogged at the $30K level off the Bako claim then faltered at this price last start, but the connections keep him priced for $40K perhaps hoping for better things. Kakaley can send this one to the front. (2) LATE MAIL N has proven to be quite reliable at landing on the ticket when he's drawn well.

Race 10: Open Handicap Pace

(7) TATTOO ARTIST took a week off but he's back looking to grab the front and dominate these. Short price looming again. (3) BEE TWO BEE is an interesting proposition to complete the exacta. Burke-trained 4-year-old was a decent third last week in the Open at the Big M. (6) FUNATTHEBEACH N has been sharp in practically every start since the Gillis claim a few months back.

Race 11: $75,000 Claiming Pace

(4) ALEX TYE has been a good claim for $40K so far for the Chris Height barn, as he's moved up to this level and has quickly proven himself; Kakaley is back driving and he's had success with him in the past. (1) MONEYMAN HILL goes for two straight and should work out a live trip from this spot. (6) DELIGHTFUL TERROR was another odds-on Burke trainee on last Monday's card that failed. Obviously the price goes way up now.

Race 12: $50,000 Claiming Pace

(4) DARK ENERGY N is on a roll having scored three straight; Garcia-Herrera trainee makes the obligatory rise in class going for the grand slam. (5) TONY TOO TALL basically toured the track in his debut off the Gillis claim but he does get some needed post relief here; unsure what the trip will bring as there is speed signed on inside of him. (2) HEISMAN PLAYER also gets post relief and could be close enough to strike.
