Yonkers: Analysis for Monday 12/19

Matt Rose|Dec 16, 2022
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 445 - 1274 / $2,207.30 (-$340.70)

BEST BETS: 72 - 122 / $259.40 (+$15.40)

Best Bet: BRACKLEY BEACH (1st)

Spot Play: SAVE ME A DANCE (5th)

Race 1: $40,000 Claiming Pace

(1) BRACKLEY BEACH has banked close to $50K in five starts since being claimed by the Andrew Adamczyk barn and he stays at a winning level while drawing best. No reason why he shouldn't take another at a short price. (2) AMERICAN BOY N is back in for a tag off four consecutive on-the-board finishes and he should be pretty close to the frontrunners. (6) MACHIAVELLI has taken three straight, including in his local return last week. Veteran bumps up a notch in class.

Race 2: $50,000 Claiming Pace

(2) WICHITA LINEMAN was on fire recently at this level and gave it a shot up with the 75's but he drew the eight hole and that was that. Alexander trainee looks to complete a chalky double. (3) PURPLE POET has had bad luck recently with post draws but his race two back from the four hole was decent. (1) HUGHIE JUNIOR N takes another crack at this level but moves all the way inside and likely looks at a good stalking trip.

Race 3: NW15000 in las 5 starts Pace

(4) VELOCITY KOMODO did the best he could last week to pick up a fourth place check but he gets important post improvement and Stratton will have him in play at some point. (7) ALWAYS AND AGAIN gets significant class relief and has the leading driver back in the bike; only problem here is the post but he does have some speed in his arsenal. (2) B LIKE CRUISER had three consecutive runner-up efforts last month facing $75K claimers; this is also notable class relief, and a better post as well.

Race 4: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) AMERICANLIGHTNINGN went a solid clip in his local return and was gunned down late by a fresh Burke face; Tritton trainee faces softer off that effort and seems well overdue for a win. (5) QUALITY BUD has had some issues recently including another break last week but he's right back in the box which is good to see and he meets much softer tonight. (6) LEVINE has two solid seconds the last time he was in this low and he'll offer a big price; consider to fill out the exotics.

Race 5: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) SAVE ME A DANCE isn't as sharp as he was earlier this season (and career) but he gets major post relief and could took to take them a long way on the engine. (4) ARDEN MESSI N is one of two recent imports in here and the Andrew Harris trainee looked good in his two stateside starts. (5) THE REAL ONE was actually sent to the front last week and jogged from there; he faces better but can never be counted out.

Race 6: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) JACK'S LEGEND N faces better stock tonight after that going-away win last start but he should have a major tactical edge on his main competition by virtue of the rail draw. (4) SOHO LENNON A is feeling good again and could be put in play at a price in a field that seems to lack early speed. (5) NANDOLO N paid a nice price last week after his usual game grind; he's clearly talented enough to repeat with a favorable trip.

Race 7: $75,000 Claiming Pace

(7) OZONE BLUE CHIP is on a major roll with four consecutive wins at this level but he does get a major test tonight as he's drawn outside. If anything it helps the price significantly. (1) THE REGULATOR went down the road last week and is seemingly assured of getting away on the lead or in the pocket. (4) FEELIN WESTERN has been second best in his last three, all at the hands of the two aforementioned choices. Board placing is entirely possible here.

Race 8: $30,000 Claiming Pace

(1) LYONS JOHNNYJNR was forced to come uncovered with a second move last week and that factored in sealing his fate as he had to settle for a share of third. From the rail tonight there figures to be no such issues. (2) PLAY THE FIELD didn't get involved in his last two from tough posts but he moves back inside and could be sitting the pocket if nobody from the outside pushes. (6) BETTER B SWIFT looks as good as any to fill out the tri or super.

Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) SARANAC BLUE CHIP was second best the last two times he started from this post, using early speed to set up live trips; Gingras figures to be heading to the front from this spot. (3) JUDDY DOUGLAS A could not overcome trying to close into a rated pace in a tougher field; he'll take money and go well here. (1) SO MANY ROADS draws the innermost post for Lachance which makes this gelding a live contender.
