SPOT PLAY - WAR DADDY (1st)
Race 1 - 12500CLM Pace
(4) WAR DADDY delivered impressively in his second start for trainer Justin Sodano over at Monticello, and I'll hope he can build on that here at Yonkers. (1) REASONABLE FORCE made front on 12-4 but was pressured in the middle-half and ended up third. I think we can expect aggressive tactics again tonight from the pole position. (6) AMRCANBOOTSCOOTA A is now with Williams Hernandez off the claim, and he's been sending out live horses both here and at the Meadowlands.

Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(1) MAGNIFICENT SEVEN raced well two back at the Meadowlands against NW4's, then had an outside post and could never get involved in a subsequent effort. This is easier company than he's been in against recently, and I'll use from the pole position. (4) CASA PALMERA has just one win this year, but it came at Yonkers, and she was George Brennan's choice. (7) GEMOLOGIST was favored in the Open at Saratoga as recently as 11-2, so the bottom level at Yonkers would seem to be a good spot for him, and he showed plenty of early speed at The Big M last time out.

Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(8) GENERAL WARD owns two wins over NW3's down at Harrah's Philadelphia and may offer a bit more value than he ordinarily would given he's starting from post eight. (5) SALT LIFE came up just short after cutting the mile last Monday. He gets another chance against NW2's here and picks up Jordan Stratton's services in the bike. (4) REIGNING BILLS has back-to-back runner-up finishes at this level and has beaten NW2's here in the past.
Race 4 - NW5000L5 Pace
(3) MACHIAVELLI gets considerable post relief tonight after starting in the eight-hole and the seven-hole in his last couple, and that should allow Brennan to be more aggressive with him. (1) BARGAIN SHOPPER also slides inside after three consecutive post seven draws. He also drops down from the $15,000 claimers. (4) FAST ON THE DRAW improved on December 4 on the move to the NW5000L5's from $15,000 claiming company and sticks in the same class here.
Race 5 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(4) BRAZEN BRAZILIAN kept his good form going in his first try against NW4's despite getting totally ignored by the bettors. I think he might end up on the lead or in the pocket again, and while I don't think he'll be 45-1 this time, he could offer a decent price. (8) ILLBEWATCHINGU won impressively in both attempts at the NW2 level for Hudson after the qualifier on 11-11 and overcame post eight to win by open lengths last time out. (5) SCRAPPIN GOLD kept the hot driving Matt Kakaley in the bike and has been competitive in this class. He also owns a win against NW4's at Pocono.
Race 6 - NW5000L5 Pace
(6) CHACHING HANOVER is winless in 2020 but retained Dube over another one, and maybe Danny takes a shot and sends him like the one race at Freehold back in late October given the lack of early speed in this race. (4) MCARDLES LIGHTNING finished second and third in a couple of chances against NW5000L5's in October and grabbed three checks against better foes down at Harrah's Philadelphia lately. (2) IMSPORTY is sure to get a lot of attention given the rally from eighth to third on 12-4, and given he was on the lead at Saratoga prior to that, Jim Marohn Jr. has some options with him.

Race 7 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(6) DINA BOLT N won stylishly from first-over in his U.S. debut on 11-30, and though he steps up a level tonight, I'll give him a chance. (4) GENIUS MAN has finished second in both tries since joining the barn of Ricky Bucci and gets away from a couple razor-sharp rivals he's faced in those two contests. (2) CALIBER was Kakaley's pick in here off a front-stepping win in this class last Monday.
Race 8 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5 Pace
(7) DON DOMINGO N didn't have much luck at the draw, but I think this is the class relief he's been looking for and Marohn Jr. has been doing well when given a chance to partner with Lance Hudson's horses, including a win on Thursday night. (4) LORD WILLOUGHBY A is the opposite of my top pick as he moves inside after having post seven and post eight in his last pair. He was able to gain from eighth to fourth in the last quarter on 12-4. (8) NUMBERED ACCOUNT hasn't been at Yonkers since testing NW8's back in July but has scored all three of his victories in 2020 since adding Lasix in late September.
Race 9 - NW8/100000LT Pace
(7) TITO ROCKS remains stuck outside again tonight, but was a good second to Globaldomination N on 11-16, and then faced the red-hot Dojea Gizmo after that. I think this is a slightly easier group, and I'll put on top. (5) CAVIART ROCKLAND gets out of the eight-hole tonight. He had to do the hard work from first-over a week ago but gets a chance with Todd McCarthy since Joe Bongiorno isn't here, and maybe he can get him a smoother trip. (2) SAWYER'S DESIRE shipped east from Harrah's Hoosier Park after their meet wrapped up, and Burke has done well with another invader from that part of the country in Dojea Gizmo. This horse showed the ability to finish fourth to Cattlewash in a stakes event in Indiana on 11-6.
Race 10 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5 Pace
(3) TYMAL PEACEMAKER ships back over to Yonkers tonight after two efforts at the Meadowlands. My affinity for the Pat Lachance barn has been well documented in this space, and I'll go back with him here. (6) HIGHLAND TARTAN drops out of the NW15000L5's and gets another chance to be driven by Bartlett. (2) PACING MAJOR N took advantage of some class relief to the NW7500L5's to prevail last Monday. He's got plenty of back-class to handle the step back up and should have some confidence.
