2023 MEET STATS: 490 - 1387 / $2,569.70 (-$204.30) BEST BETS: 71 - 131 / $233.20 (-$28.80) BEST BET: SHINE A LIGHT (2nd) SPOT PLAY: IM A POWERPLAY A (11th) Race 1: 3-5YO $50,000 Claiming Pace (2) LOUS THE ATTITUDE blitzed a similar field last week and the 3YO is certainly in a live spot to repeat. (1) STRIKING IMPACT failed to make an impact coming out of the same race as the top choice but that was from the seven hole. Tonight with the move all the way inside he figures to be the main threat. (3) KOUNT BLASTER was bet strongly into #2 last week but could not sustain a run. Tonight saving ground and looking to shake free can give him a chance to hit the ticket. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW13026 in last 5 starts Pace (1) SHINE A LIGHT lands the rail for the third consecutive start but the difference is tonight he figures to take control of this softer group and go the distance. Could be a chalky Bartlett/Engblom DD. (2) HAMMERING HANK lasted for a share of the win when down in class last start and overall he's been competitive up and down the class ladder; Bongiorno trainee looks like the main threat, especially if there are no outside leavers. (5) ROLLING WITH SAM hits the board with relative consistency, including eight 3rd place finishes this year. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: 3YO $30,000 Claiming Pace (5) BIG DREAM FELLA brushed and crushed in his second start after moving to the Burke barn and he stays at a winning level. (2) GANDOLF THE BLACK has raced very well in two starts for these connections after arriving from Ohio. (4) JUST ENUFF STUFF tailed off last week after being used early but was a winner the start prior at the NW4 level, his debut for the Bongiorno barn. Race 4: $30,000 Claiming Pace (5) ALOTBETTOR N takes an important drop in class to the $30K claiming level and that could help to wake this veteran up. (1) REAL PEACE has been favored in his last four but has only been able to win once; he may be vulnerable again. (3) ARTIST BEST was a nice 8/1 winner last week and lands in the same post again. Race 5: $40,000 Claiming Pace (6) PAT STANLEY N made a long-awaited return to the Yonkers winner's circle last week as he easily disposed of a NW5000 field. Connections now place a $40K tag on his head and he meets a pretty soft field for this level. Veteran may be ready to string some winning efforts together. (4) BILL HALEY N is still shut out on the season but his last two weren't bad. (3) PEDRO HANOVER has missed a couple of weeks with an injured scratch last week but he's back in now and doesn't drop in class. Maybe he's good to go. Race 6: 3YO $30,000 Claiming Pace (4) URIEL BLUE CHIP arrives from Canada to make his debut for the Engblom barn and while he does meet a good, competitive group the barn change plus the addition of Yannick (who was also listed on the Burke horse) could spell win for this lightly-raced 3YO. (3) ALL ATTITUDE failed at the 1/5 chalk last week and will look to make amends at a much-improved price. (1) PANETTONE HANOVER drops back to the level of his dominating win three back. Race 7: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) LOU'S SWEETREVENGE is a grinding type and his success often depends on the pace of the race. He should be an honest price and is one of many in here with a legit chance. (7) IDEALSOMEMAGIC A gets to drop from the Open ranks as he closes in on $400K for the season. He is capable of firing from the gate, which Brennan may do to overcome the outside post. (4) CERTIFIABLE has been a certified money-maker in this class and his tactical speed always gives him a chance. Race 8: Open Handicap 1-2, 3-7 drawn Pace (3) DESPERATE MAN brushed and rolled last week to a sharp 1:51 3/5 score. With the best post of the 3 thru 7 draw I'll give him the chance to repeat, but it won't be easy. (4) COVERED BRIDGE lands a much-improved post and the $500K earner this year is the one to beat. (6) SEMI TOUGH will have to be fully tough to win from this spot, but it's not impossible. Take at least double-digit odds if you like him to repeat. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: $40,000 Claiming Pace (2) OSTRO HANOVER had some traffic issues last week and was a good rallying second in his prior start. Veteran pops up with a big winning effort from time to time. (3) TUGGIN ON MY HEART failed to convert at 1/5 in the same race as the top choice; that's a lot of money he's burned lately. Obviously he remains capable. (5) MICKY GEE N has Bartlett driving again, needs a trip. Race 10: 3-5YO $50,000 Claiming Pace (1) SHAKESPEARE is back in the Daguet barn after being reclaimed for the third time. He's back on the rail, Brennan's back driving and he looks to get back in the winning groove. (2) RJ SPORTS IMAGE looks for three straight and Bartlett gets the call with Gingras on the Burke trainee; looks like the one to catch unless #4 is intent on the front. (4) MY MIKI BEACH has also won three straight and the last two were in dominating front-end fashion. Jimmy P is back in the bike. Race 11: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) IM A POWERPLAY A recently moved from the Lachance barn to Dilloian and he cruised in a race at Freehold. I don't think anyone will be surprised to see him double up in his Yonkers return. (1) IMA HAPPY FELLA GB had the seven hole facing tougher in his Yonkers return. This is obviously a better spot. (6) HEISMAN PLAYER has been off a few months but he qualified back nicely and he's got plenty of class. [DRF HARNESS: Follow me on Twitter! @drfharnessmatt]
