2025 MEET STATS: 369 - 1203 / $2,011.98 (-$394.02) BEST BETS: 61 - 117 / $199.74 (-$34.26) BEST BET: HUNTINTHELASTDOLAR (6th) SPOT PLAY: MOSSDALE BEN N (3rd) Race 1: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) OPTICAL ILLUSION N is one of a few class droppers but this one seems like he has the most to gain by facing softer competition because he gets significant post relief as well. Regular driver Holland has a better chance to be more aggressive here. (4) ESCAPE TO AMERICA also figures to be put in play at some point tonight, something he's failed to do of late. (7) MR HUGGINS ships down from Saratoga where he's been racing well, and Stalbaum calls on a catch driver tonight as Todd McCarthy takes the lines. Post is tough. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: $40,000 Claiming Pace (6) MUSIC HALL has 14 wins on the season and has performed well for multiple barns. Tonight he's back to Dilloian Jr. and picks up Bartlett while staying at the winning level. (3) PYRO is a proven winner with this type and is always live when drawn on the inner half of the gate. Always offers value, as well. (1) HAMMERING HANK steps up in class off a couple of sharp efforts with Gingras driving, draws best. Race 3: MGM Grand Prix Pacing Series Leg #2 (2) MOSSDALE BEN N gets significant post relief for his second start in this series and the Borgata champ is in one of the softer divisions. Time to shine. (3) ENDOFSTORY is unproven versus the cream of the crop but the 4YO picks up the leading driver tonight along with a much more reasonable post. (5) THE GREEK FREEK was a good second in round one and he too has something to prove; needs an alert getaway for his best chance. Race 4: NW31271 in last 5 starts Pace (1) NONE BETTOR A has quietly been racing very well and the move inside makes him a contender with an upset chance. Oldtimer needs a perfect trip to make it happen. (6) CHRISTOPHER DANCE N has won convincingly in his two local starts and with the AE condition now at NW13 races lifetime he gets another free pass at this level. (3) ROCKNROLL RUNA A returns locally for Stalbaum, gets Todd Mac and is way overdue for a win at the non-stakes level. Race 5: MGM Grand Prix Pacing Series Leg #2 (4) DESPERATE MAN gets away from Coaches Corner tonight after finishing a distant second last week. He's back in on consecutive weeks now and a big effort can be expected. (1) SOHO FIRESTONE A fired home in :27 from the pocket in round one, has another inside post looking to make it four in a row. (7) REDWOOD HANOVER draws the worst post again after only being able to muster a third-place finish in leg #1. Can he make it to the front tonight? Will be tough. Race 6: MGM Grand Prix Pacing Series Leg #2 (4) HUNTINTHELASTDOLAR was run down by one of the best horses in North America in round one of this series, and no such foe exists in here. Engblom trainee is clearly the one to beat. (7) CATALPA RESCUE A probably needed last week's race and he could be tighter tonight. Import has been very impressive overall since arriving and McCarthy may be looking to fire from the gate. (3) SOHO DOW JONES A was going nowhere last week from the eight hole so needless to say this is a better starting spot. Race 7: MGM Grand Prix Pacing Series Leg #2 (5) COACHES CORNER finally found a spot where he could dominate, and he didn't disappoint. He meets a very worthy opponent tonight in (2) CAPTAIN ALBANO but I'm giving him the chance to string a few together. The latter also won in his local return and is clearly the main threat in a good matchup. (6) VERDUN is very unlikely to reach for the top spot, but can rally for third. Race 8: 3-6YO $30,000 Claiming Pace (1) ALWAYSCUTTINSCHOOL is a proven winner with this type and he draws best while his main competition has plenty of question marks. (2) TWO FACED qualified effectively but he's got just one regular start over the last six months and it was a poor one. Good draw and top trainer/driver is why I'll include him. (6) DONTLIKEITLEAVE was a big upset winner last week and he's an off-the-pace player again. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) THENU CAME ALONG A is another Scott Blackler import making his local debut with Bartlett off a winning qualifier. These types are routine selecting. (1) DANCIN SANCHO has been sharp and is the obvious main threat. (2) HIMSELF N was in a tough spot last week when he double-jumped in class. Veteran drops and draws better. Race 10: $30,000 Claiming Pace (4) PERFECT PROMISES made his local debut from the eight hole and was 75/1 but managed to pass a few and pick up a check. Tonight he moves back to the inner half of the gate and gets a big driver change. (1) HEAVEN ON HIGH N has a new trainer listed but let's assume he'll race similar to his last two starts, which puts him right there with these. (2) SARANAC BLUE CHIP isn't the worst longshot out there and he can easily hit the board with a good trip, like he did last week.
