Yonkers: Analysis for Monday 11/9/26

Matt Rose|Nov 06, 2026
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2026 MEET STATS: 337 - 1059 / $1,846.85 (-$271.15)

BEST BETS: 62 - 111 / $211.92 (-$10.08)

BEST BET: STRIKEM N (9th)

SPOT PLAY: EVER M (6th)

Race 1: $40,000 Claiming Pace

(1) HAMMERING HANK has been much better of late and seems to have found a home at this $40K claiming level; Holland drives again and this veteran should be live from the rail. (3) ULTIMAROCA gets major post relief and returns to Bartlett, who won with this Engblom veteran last month in his first start after returning from Ocean Downs. (7) THEFLYINGROCK put in a solid two-move effort from the eight hole after stepping up in price off the Adamczyk claim. Unfortunately he's poorly drawn again.

Race 2: $15,000 Claiming Pace

(1) IM A POWERPLAY A is just 1 for 23 on the season but that one win came with Holland driving for the Laterza barn, and they team up from the rail in a pretty soft field. (5) SAWYER'S DESIRE returns locally and he has won here in the past; veteran was a winner the last time he was tagged for $15K and it can't hurt to pick up Bartlett. (4) GOTHIC ROCK is a camera-shy veteran but a strong candidate for a board spot.

Race 3: $50,000 Claiming Pace

(7) BE DAZZLED LOU A was a strong winner in his local return and debut for the Bako barn; veteran is a five-time winner at Yonkers this year and though he draws poorly and is unproven at this $50K level he can offer a big price and be worth a try. (4) CAPT KARMA drops in class and is a live and logical favorite for Bongiorno but he has been outfinished in his last few and will probably be overbet. (6) WATTSUP SUNSHINE A won his first two for the Dilloian Jr. barn then was a victim of bad posts and tough competition. Driver switch to Bartlett and will be interesting to see how aggressive he can be at the outset.

Race 4: $15,000 Claiming Pace

(5) KARLOO BRADLEY N was a winner last week off the Laterza reclaim and he's right back in at the level where he fits best. Goes for his third straight overall when Holland drives. (4) LAST BEACH has taken two straight and stays in the same class off the Adamczyk claim. (3) DISMAS was second best two back at a big price and should offer value again.

Race 5: Invitational Pace

This race is made more interesting with the appearance of Ruthless Hanover but (4) SWEET BEACH LIFE with the post edge is likely the one to beat. Alexander trainee saw his long overnight winning streak snapped last out but he's primed to take control from this spot and can go the distance with new driver Stratton. (5) CHASE H HANOVER always gives an honest effort and his tactical speed always sets him up well. He's destined for pocket trip. (6) RUTHLESS HANOVER makes his Yonkers debut and rare appearance on a half. He's lost a step or two over the years but is still a major talent and often the headliner wherever he races. Interesting choice to enter here though because I believe his only race on a half he broke when barreling into the first turn (at Northfield).

Race 6: 3-6YO $30,000 Claiming Pace

(5) EVER M gets a bit of post improvement in his second start off the Dilloian Jr. claim and he also picks up Bartlett. Recent form is nothing to write home about but maybe he tries a more aggressive approach tonight. (1) COALFORD TOPGUY GB just needs to maintain his current form for his new connections and he'll be right there at the wire. (3) THE WICKED ONE was a close second at this level three back and can offer some value underneath.

Race 7: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) HP MOMENTUM is just 1 for 21 this season but he's been facing better in all recent and is never that far off. Last time he dropped to a lower level he dominated on the front end to pick up that lone 2026 win. (5) BRUTALLYHANDSOME A was overmatched in $40K claimers last week but raced well his prior three tries and those were with Bartlett steering the Cory Stratton trainee. (1) GANNON'S VELOUCITY drops back to the level of his recent second-place finish and moves back to the rail.

Race 8: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

Interesting race with two recent imports on the inside of the gate and a proven stakes player outside, but I'll go in a different direction with (4) YOUNG BLUEY A. The Bako trainee draws a much more reasonable post than he's seen recently and he's got more of a chance to get involved. Stratton's choice over #2 was an easy winner a couple of months back from a similar spot and he may get overlooked in the wagering. (8) HUNTINTHELASTDOLAR was Bartlett's choice over one of the imports and there's no doubt that he's the one class-wise but he was off his game a little at Scioto and is greeted with the eight hole in his local return; tough to gauge. (2) MENEMSHA A broke in his lone pari-mutuel try but qualified back just fine and will a much better price than #1, who is already proven here.

Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) STRIKEM N has two wins and a good third so far in his North American career and moving back to the rail gives him a chance to control the action, something he was unable to do last start when he had to come uncovered into a rated pace. (3) SMOOTH DREAM has been live in practically every local start as a 4YO and now debuts for the Lorentzon barn off a winning qualifier. (6) MAJOR HOTHOOVES N was a winner second time out with Lasix added; faces tougher, could have more to offer at a price.
