Race 1: NW7771 in last 5 starts Pace
(7) SPEED MAN N has had back luck recently both in races and at draws; oldtimer is still capable with these and I have to follow him again at what should be a very reasonable price. (1) POINTOMYGRANSON was used hard and gave way in his local return so he can be excused somewhat for his off-the-board finish; veteran looms the one to beat from the rail. (5) CHANTEE hasn't been all that bad for Lachance and the class drop should enable him to be more involved.

Race 2: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace
(6) SEMI TOUGH picked up Gingras last start and the veteran responded with a solid front-end score; moderate bump in class and less favorable post shouldn't be a major problem in his quest to repeat. Taking a stab as the likely third or fourth choice in the wagering. (3) HEMSWORTH N is also coming off a nice win where he sprinted home in :27 to nail the leader; big chance to repeat. (2) CHURCHVIEWFRANKL IR was collared by #3 after rating that mile last week and he gets the post edge again on his main rivals; chance to redeem himself.
Race 3: NW10511 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) MY ULTIMATE BYRON A hasn't won in a while but he does have six tallies on the year and a solid 22 for 37 on the board; Bucci trainee drops for the third consecutive start and moves all the way in to the rail. (5) TWIN B RISENSHINE has been close up in his last few and could be the main speed from the midpack post. (4) YOROKOBI N powered home last week as one of Lauren Tritton's two winners on the card; she drives again but faces tougher now. Consider underneath.
Race 4: NW15041 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) COVERED BRIDGE was second best to a good one last week who was also dropping. Gillis veteran drops another notch and draws well with Marohn on the catch drive. (1) TICKERTAPE HANOVER also gets a new driver as Kakaley takes a seat after a failed pocket pull last start. Another aggressive steer again expected from the rail. (7) VICI steps up and draws outside so it's seemingly tough for the Bongiorno trainee to repeat but he's sharp enough to sneak in there for a piece.
Race 5: $50,000 Claiming Pace
(4) TASTE OF HONEY goes for four straight after beating optional $60K claimers last start; he's got some speed inside of him but he still figures to make the front if that's what co-owner Gingras chooses to do. (2) SURFSIDE BEACH was unable to get involved last week when hiked to this level but he gets another crack at similar and now moves inside. Lachance gets the drive with Stratton not here and he can stay close and show late pace. (3) LUCKBEWITHALEX folded last start after winning the week prior; Hudson/Napolitano has been a good combo for a few months now.
Race 6: NW22921 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) ACT FAST went over $200K with that effort last start in the Grand Prix and the Burke-trained 4-year-old should be forwardly placed with the post edge on (6) BACKSTREET SHADOW. The latter has to wait an extra week to race as he was scratched ineligible in his last start. He's the class here and will find a way to be involved. (4) LEONIDAS A is no longer a top pacer but still a mighty good one. He was a winner four back at this level.
Race 7: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) AARDIES FLASH N powered away in his U.S. debut and the Engblom import figures to be ready for more. (4) HEZ ALL THE RAGE N dropped down last week but could not last; he steps back up a notch and figures to be forward off the gate again. (1) GREG THE LEG gets needed post relief after being stuck outside in his last two. From inside posts he's always a player.

Race 8: Invitational Pace
(3) ROCKNROLL RUNA A rolled down the road on last week's class drop and he lands a favorable post here on his return to the top level. Stalbaum can easily make it two straight with the $334K seasonal earner. (1) WHATS STANLEY GOT A raced well in the Grand Prix series and gets the rail in this open draw; big player. (4) ADMIRAL HILL is an interesting shipper for Engblom from the Kentucky stakes scene. 4-year-old obviously likes to win but we'll see how he likes the half.
Race 9: $30,000 Claiming Pace
(5) TWIG raced perfectly well to be second best in his debut off the Quevedo claim and the speedy gelding can take these the distance if he can find the front. (2) MOONLIGHT SHADOW could not prosper off an uncovered grind in his Blumenfeld debut but I'll give him another look with the improved post. (1) KEYSTONE DASH is going well now and steps up a notch while landing the rail again; he'll clearly be in the pace mix.
