Best Bet: SWEET N FAST N (5th)
Spot Play: MINNIE VINNIE (10th)
Race 1: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) BENHOPE RULZ N got a long-awaited and likely confidence-building win last week at Philly; he returns to Yonkers to face somewhat better and seems capable of taking another. (7) JESSE DUKE N shipped in last week, was tagged for $50K and got claimed by DiDomenico. Import gets to face much softer on the drop back into a conditioned event. (3) FLYINGEVENBETTOR N continues to be dropped in the box here by Alagna despite still being winless. This may be the best spot he's seen in a while.

Race 2: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) CAVIART LUCA found a softer spot last week at Philly and the millionaire took advantage with a nice pocket-sitting win. Yannick's back driving and he figures to be controlling the action here. (7) FLYING FINN N gets to drop in class in his second start off the Bongiorno claim but he needs to generate some early speed for his best chance from this outside post. (6) SHINY BLACK BEAMER is up in class again going for three straight overall.

Race 3: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) BELMONT MAJOR N failed to get involved in last week's Open but that enables him to drop into this softer spot; import seems the one to beat and should be aggressively handled. (8) ON THE CARDS N draws another poor post but he's been very sharp for Burke and he does have proven early speed. (3) SOMEBADDUDE was bet down to even-money last week but failed to fire; he should have a chance here at a much-improved price.
Race 4: $40,000 Claiming Pace
(4) DESIRE'S CAPTAIN raced in a bit more relaxed fashion in his last couple of starts and was not involved; this feels like a spot where Bongiorno can get more aggressive. (2) VELOCITY KOMODO had little to offer when up in class off the DiDomenico reclaim; he drops back to a winning level and moves inside. (3) REAL SURREAL invades from Canada and joins the Dowse barn; mixed feelings until I see one.
Race 5: $50,000 Claiming Pace
(5) SWEET N FAST N bumps up in class again looking for three straight after being claimed for $23K by the Bako barn; expect Kakaley to be sending this one to the front. (3) TOPVILLE OLYMPIAN was reclaimed by DiDomenico after last week's start, where he closed in with good late pace. (1) CHANGE STRIDE N also goes for a new barn (Ruiz) and moves back up to the $50K level despite losing at odds-on in his latest.
Race 6: $75,000 Claiming Pace
(3) BELTANE A has taken two in a row on the front end after moving to the Bako outfit and Bartlett figures to point him to the front again trying to pad this trainer's already gaudy stats. (1) ROBBIE BURNS N missed from the pocket to the top one last week and could be in line for a similar trip here. (6) BLACK CHEVRON N is back at Yonkers after getting hung out at Philly; he fits with these but figures to be at a tactical disadvantage.
Race 7: $100,000 Claiming Pace
(2) OAKWOODNITWNIT IR proved last week that he belongs with this type by storming home to narrow the gap on the top two. He moves inside tonight and is worth a try. (8) JOESSTAR OF MIA A was outbattled by the classy Western Fame last week, no shame in that, He's got the speed to help overcome the outside post. (3) WHITECOOKIE is a rapidly improving four-year-old from Burke.
Race 8: $75,000 Claiming Pace
(6) MACH DORO A had some disappointing efforts when first returning to Yonkers but he's now reeled off two straight at this $75K claiming level and he can take another if not used too hard in the early stages. (1) BEACH BOOGIE lands the rail after a no-chance effort from the eight hole last out; Gingras picks up the drive. (5) UPTOWN FUNK has had a heck of a 2021 season after not earning a single penny last year; versatile gelding can hit the ticket with a smooth trip.
Race 9: Open Handicap Pace
(7) TATTOO ARTIST has faltered in his last two but he faces a bit of a softer Open tonight with a couple of the heavy hitters out of town; Dexter Dunn is back after Dave Miller subbed last week. (2) WINDSUN RICKY has been sharp practically all year and he earns a trip to the top level. From this inside post he can save ground and emerge with late pace. (8) FUNATTHEBEACH N has turned out to be a sharp claim by Gillis but unfortunately he's stuck outside again without a ton of early speed in his arsenal.
Race 10: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) MINNIE VINNIE has had some excuses in his last two but overall he's shown serious ability since arriving from the Iowa fair circuit; worth a try moving inside. (2) CAN B PERFECT gets major class relief and hasn't been racing all that badly with better. (4) SHNEONUCRZYDIAMND A figures to be put in play tonight after two consecutive eight holes.

Race 11: $40,000 Claiming Pace
(5) ROCK N TONY had no realistic chance from the eight hole last week when reclaimed by Zeron/Scran. Post relief should give him a legit shot at a decent price. (2) GINGER TREE PETE also gets away from the outermost post and he was a solid second two and three back from similar spots. (1) GHOST DANCE gave it his all before tiring last out; trip should be better tonight.
Race 12: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) MELODIES MAJOR dropped and popped last week; he's up a notch in class but doesn't catch a particularly strong group. (2) ROCKIN M went a big trip after taking all the money in his debut for the Bongiorno barn; obvious contender. (6) MISTER DONALD A just missed to Melodies Major from the pocket; he does have some early speed if Holland elects to use it.
