Race 1: $30,000 Claiming Pace
Welcome back to the first of 240 racing nights! (3) HASH TAG SWAG found the going a little too tough up in class but he's back at the $30K claiming level and should be much more competitive. Stratton trainee was a winner from a similar spot back in December. (5) MARINER SEELSTER was reclaimed by the Alexander barn and was doing good things for that outfit a couple of months back. As is the case with many of these horses on tonight's card fitness could be an issue as most are off three weeks or more. (1) SOHO WALLSTREET A should benefit from a recent race at The Meadowlands and he's got good early speed.

Race 2: $40,000 Claiming Pace
(2) ELWELL has been on quite a form spree for the Dowse barn and he looks like the controlling speed again at a short price. (5) CHANGE STRIDE N had no chance in two of his last three and his odds reflected that as he went off at big prices. Veteran generally gives a good accounting of himself and with some racing luck he can spice up the exacta. (4) MELODIES MAJOR had a recent qualifier at The Big M and he's coming off a decent comeback season last year; Gingras picks up the drive.

Race 3: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) JESSE DUKE N was a blowout winner in his last two and if he can maintain that form then the bump in class won't be a problem. (4) ITSMYCHECK GB is perfect in three starts since moving to the Cory Stratton barn. He gets tested for class here but seems sharp enough to be a serious player. (2) HERRICKROOSEVELT N closed out 2021 with a couple of decent third-place finishes; Bartlett is back driving.
Race 4: $50,000 Claiming Pace
(8) ROBBIE BURNS N takes an important drop down in class and he does have the early speed to get involved from the outside post; it's a barn change as well to Dowse so he's worth considering if a good price. (2) AMERICAN BOY N is second time on the drop and he draws well; veteran should be a factor. (1) ALOTBETTOR N is the other one in here getting class relief but his last two were weak.
Race 5: $40,000 Claiming Pace
(2) GINGER TREE PETE raced well in his first off the Shane Tritton claim but regressed last start when facing tougher stock. He can trip out from this good inside post. (5) LATE MAIL N has hit the board in his last five without a win to show for it; at just 2 for 33 last year don't take too short of a price on top. (1) REGAL SON goes for another new barn tonight and has raced well despite being shuffled around.
Race 6: $75,000 Claiming Pace
(6) BELTANE A is back up in class after taking two straight and four of five overall since joining the Bako barn; Dube gets the drive tonight looking to be forwardly placed. (2) I'M SOME GRADUATE is back in for a tag for Burke and he's been consistent in all recent starts. (4) LOU'S SWEETREVENGE closed crisply last start and he's been pretty good for an extended period of time.
Race 7: NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) MICKY GEE N has burned plenty of money recently but he doesn't project to be the favorite tonight and we know he's capable of a vicious late rally; Zeron catch-drives tonight. (5) FUNATTHEBEACH N has tailed off in his last couple but he did go tough trips at the Open level; facing softer should help his cause. (2) SHANAWAY N never threatened in his last few but if he can revert to that winning effort from Nov. 2 he'll be a big player here.
Race 8: $100,000 Claiming Pace
(2) WEONA SIZZLER A raced at The Meadowlands 10 days ago when most others (except #3) have been on the bench; veteran does have a win at this level back in October and the Gillis trainee could be fresh and ready to fire. (4) FOREVER FAV took a life mark at The Big M first start off the Alexander claim; Yannick drives again. (6) JOESSTAR OF MIA A showed some versatility with that off-the-pace win last start.

Race 9: Open Handicap Pace
(2) SAVE ME A DANCE has looked very impressive in two starts after Travis Alexander dipped in for $100K plus allowances; he lands the two hole in this handicap race where only the rail was assigned and he figures to take full advantage of the generous post. (5) SEMI TOUGH returns locally for Burke after a solid run across the river and he still seems sharp enough to make an impact here. (3) SHADOW CAT is unproven at this top level but he has a recency edge on these with that solid runner-up finish to a good one at Philly.
Race 10: $30,000 Claiming Pace
(6) BEVANS CULLEN N was a good second in his first outing off the Cory Stratton claim and Jordan drives again; hoping for some early aggression in this field loaded with question marks. (3) JIMS PERFECT TEN has just been going evenly of late but he did finish close up in his last couple. (7) MAGRITTE found his stride in a HUGE way when trainer Camilleri had him and he's now won two straight off the Dowse claim; only problem is the post.
Race 11: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) REDBANK BLAZE A seems to have regained his stride after dropping to face softer competition and the veteran finds a good spot for his local return. (4) LIKE CLOCKWORK was overmatched in that last one at The Big M; Abbatiello trainee was racing well when last at Yonkers. (6) REVELRY put in two solid efforts recently at Philly and he's stayed on a pretty regular schedule with those races; closing threat.
