Race 1 - 12500CLM Pace
(7) P H KENNY has won here at Yonkers before and raced well in his return to the East Coast at the Meadowlands on 10-17. (4) ACTING OUT closed with some interest to finish third last Monday. He's shown more early foot in the past, so that gives Brennan some options. (1) DEERFIELD BEACH backed up his win two weeks ago with a solid second-place performance a week ago. He was claimed out of that race and now goes for the sharp Justin Sodano barn.
Race 2 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(5) SLIPPIN THE CLUTCH invades from the Iowa Fair Circuit having won their championship event. He has 23 career wins, but because they've been in fair races, they don't count for his total of pari-mutuel victories, allowing him to fit this class. That gives him a big leg up on the rest of these, and I expect him to get the job done. (1) FAKE OUT is the lone 2-year-old in here, but he rallied in 27 4/5 to finish third last Monday and gets the pole tonight. (7) FULL VIEW shipped down from Canada to Blackler and stepped up like many of his new faces from north of the border do. Buter has guided him to two straight wins at Pocono and gets another shot with him.
Race 3 - NW5000L5 Pace
(1) ZIGGY SKY lands an inside post for the first time in quite a while and has Bongiorno to drive again. I like both those factors in this fairly wide-open event and will give him a shot. (2) LUCAN HANOVER closed well last Monday to finish third in a NW7500L5 and drops tonight. He'll probably be the favorite and definitely has the most back-class of these. (5) MACINTOSH N also has class relief tonight after cutting the mile and finishing sixth in the same contest Lucan Hanover exits. He's been a contender against NW5000L5's in the last few weeks.
Race 4 - NW5000L5 Pace
(4) THISJETSABOOKIN shows just one win this year, but he's closed his last two miles in 27 and change and draws a much better post tonight than the eight-hole he had against better last time out. (2) NUCLEAR DRAGON held second last Monday after making the lead from post eight. That sharp win over NW9000L5's at Pocono back in August is a pretty big standout line against the NW5000L5's at Yonkers. (5) CHANGE STRIDE N thoroughly dominated the bottom level over at the Meadowlands most recently and was third in a NW10000L5 when last at Yonkers in late August.
Race 5 - NW4/50000LT Pace *$7,500 GTD Pick 5 Pool*
(5) MISTER REBBILY A was not Stratton's choice in here but really hasn't done anything wrong in this class and was a solid second to the red-hot Ideal Artillery most recently. (7) WESTERN VACATION switches trainers to Jenn Bongiorno tonight, and that's enough to get me interested in his chances. He's been at this level for a while without winning, but has hit the board several times. (4) CAPTIVATE HANOVER had a good enough season in Canada to make the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Series final, but he is winless on the campaign. Stratton stuck with the newcomer to the Hudson barn.
Race 6 - NW7500L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW5000L5 Pace
(4) DARK ENERGY N seems to do his best work in the NW5000L5 class that he won in last week, but I thought that was a sharp two-move victory, and he should offer some value on the step up in class tonight. (5) TYMAL PEACEMAKER looks like the one to beat in here dropping after finishing second in a NW10400L5 at Harrah's Philadelphia. The Lachance barn has been pretty hot lately, too. (6) HE'S ELECTRIC was a pretty solid third against NW8's last Monday and shifts back over to the NW7500L5 group tonight. He hit the board in a couple of chances against NW10000L5's last month.
Race 7 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(2) SOCIAL THEORIES made his debut at the NW4 level last Monday and was fourth from post eight. He moves inside to post two tonight and was Stratton's selection over a couple of others. (5) SO MANY ROADS could give Lachance back-to-back wins as he invades from Pocono. He was a strong second there against NW4's two back and then closed well after getting shuffled in a subsequent effort. (8) REDDING HANOVER gained in the final quarter a week ago to finish third. He's overcome bad draws at Pocono before, so maybe Buter can work something out and he can hit the ticket.
Race 8 - NW6/86000LT Pace
(2) IDEAL ARTILLERY saw his winning streak end last time out at Harrah's Philadelphia, but he did have to do the first-over work today. I'm going to hope Marohn Jr. works out a smoother trip and he can turn the tables on (6) NICHOLAS BEACH, who defeated him at Harrah's Philadelphia. This horse has been a monster run in Pennsylvania and makes his first start on a half-mile track tonight. I can't blame anybody for going to him, but I will attempt to beat him. (4) GLACIS gets a chance to race against NW6's instead of NW8's tonight as he fits under the lifetime earnings condition by $189. He was a gaining second to the sharp Mark Witha K last Monday.
Race 9 - NW10000L5/Winners in Last Start of the Base Class NW7500L5 Pace
(7) IDEAL JIMMY disappointed some last Monday when he made an easy lead and gave way to longshot Alta Leroy N in the last quarter. He gets some additional class relief tonight and hopefully will offer some value from this outside draw. (4) KEY ADVISOR has finished first and second in his last two appearances against NW10000L5's and both drops and draws better here. (1) IN SPADES was one of trainer Gil Garcia-Herrera's three winners a week ago and kept Siegelman tonight over another contender.
