Spot Play: WARRIOR ONE (6th)
Race 1: Italian/American Friendship Trot. NW5275 in last 5 starts
(5) SWISS HOUSE ON FIRE has good early speed and an experienced driver who should be able to utilize it. (2) HOOLIE N HECTOR has been reasonably competitive at the NW7500 level and the 4-year-old lands a good inside post. (3) HOBBS was second best in his initial start for Cory Stratton. Ex-Schnittker trainee had a big 3-year-old season but has been unable to transition to the older ranks.

Race 2: NW30000 in last 5 starts Trot
(4) I DA PRINCESS raced very well here in three starts in June after arriving from Canada and the Burke-trained mare returns into a spot where she can make the lead under aggressive Brennan handling. (2) VINNY DE VIE woke up in a big way taking two straight versus lesser; sharp sort can parlay that form into a nice share facing better. (1) LEAN HANOVER is no longer an Open-type competitor but she should be good at this slightly lower level; he's better than that tiring effort last out.

Race 3: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) LUC ROCKS has just been racing evenly since Jenn Bongiorno took over the training duties and he's lacked a real knockout punch. From the rail tonight and with Bartlett driving he's likely to be sent down the road, hopefully with different results. (8) SETTLEMOIR was claimed two back by trainer Bako and in his initial start for these connections he blasted from the gate with early speed not seen from him in years. He's stuck outside again but does Siegelman take a shot? (2) VIRGIN STORM has been underachieving of late; hard to take a short price.
Race 4: $40,000 Claiming Pace
(3) BLUEBIRD RECON always seemed to have some class to him but he's been a terror of late since returning locally and joining the Dowse barn. Bartlett will have him pointed to the front again. (2) GIVENUPDREAMING has hit the board in his last four races since moving to the Devita barn; he's also classy. (4) MY MIND IS MADEUP has been reasonably productive of late, including a 110/1 shocker a few starts back. He'll be off the pace again but seems capable of closing for a share.
Race 5: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot
(3) FOR A DREAMER went evenly in his first try for the Alexander barn after being taken for $50K. He stays at the same level here but the competition is arguably a bit weaker. (2) MISSION VOYAGE jogged last out at Pocono, his first start for Jenn Bongiorno. He's a major player here, but also likely to be overbet. (1) IM THE MUSCLE was second best versus similar three back and landing the inside ensures a close-up trip.
Race 6: NW20891 in last 5 starts Trot
(5) WARRIOR ONE has been a legit Open player this season so he should be able to flex his muscles versus this type. (1) MELADY'S MONET hasn't been at his best recently and surprisingly Bartlett opted off to #6, but Greg Merton knows what he's doing and this super-classy 13YO can't be counted out. (6) TOCCOA FALLS is up a notch in class off a nice win and Bartlett stays with the Engblom trainee.
Race 7: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) SHANWAY N has just one win on the season but he's been caught up in some fast miles recently versus better. Drop in class, inside post and return of Bartlett should spell success. (4) JESSE DUKE N has been a disastrous claim so far for $75K but this is obviously a good spot to awaken. (6) QUALITY BUD was good two back but otherwise mostly uninvolved recently while also facing better; Holland gets the drive tonight and he's capable with a good trip.
Race 8: $20,000 Claiming Pace
(3) PACING MAJOR N raced well enough to win in his last couple but he was just a bit short; overall the Pete Tritton trainee is going well, and I think racing on consecutive weeks recently may help out this lightly-raced veteran. (4) LOVE THE BLUES N broke last week but prior starts have been good. (2) HAPPY TRIO hasn't been all that good and he now drops below the level of his claim looking to awaken.

Race 9: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) LUCIANO N has had some tough trips recently but he now drops to the lowest conditioned class and the classy 11-year-old figures to be aggressively handled. (5) MACHEASY A also drops to the basement and gets modest post relief; Harmon trainee can be more involved. (6) LEVINE gets Bartlett in the bike tonight and he does have ability.
Race 10: $25,000 Claiming Pace
(3) PROVOCATIVEPRINCE N looked a little like the 'Prince' of old with last week's jogola score. He'll be odds-on to take these down the road again. (1) SWAGASAURUSREX debuts for the Camilleri barn off the claim and draws best; pocket trip to the top one? (2) NOAHS MILL was second best last start at the $30K level and now drops a rung in price while drawing well again; board threat.
