Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 8/28

MEET STATS: 145 - 419 / $764.90 (-$73.10)
BEST BETS: 22 - 39 / $70.70 (-$7.30)
Best Bet: SHNITZLEDOSOMETHIN (5th)
Spot Play: BLANTANTLY BEST (4th)
Race 1 - NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) ROCK N BLUE has raced reasonably well in his last two for a barn that's had trouble finding the winner's circle but this gelding should work out a live trip from this spot. (3) MAXDADDY BLUE CHIP returns locally and seems the one to beat coming off that sharp win at Tioga but he's always been an inconsistent type; be careful. (7) QUICK ASA TRICK N was a good second at this level three back.
Race 2 - NW17500 in last 5 starts Trot
(5) BARRY BLACK has been good in all recent starts and he could prove strongest late with some questionable speed types inside of him; Bucci double? (7) FASHION CREDITOR and (8) BUEN CAMINO are two very classy veterans who fit well here but obviously the post hurts both their chances; maybe one or both can sneak onto the ticket.
Race 3 - NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) KIMANI N comes off a rather strange performance when you consider he was odds-on; he drops to the basement level and seems to be running out of excuses. (3) ITSONLYROCKNROLL A returns for Stalbaum off a win upstate and gets Siegelman in the bike tonight; he fits well here class-wise. (6) COOL BLUES MAN raced well versus better three back in his first start after the shutdown then was nowhere in his last two from bad posts; he also drops in class and should be moving late to land a piece.
Race 4 - NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) BLATANTLY BEST gets needed post relief and I would expect Holland to try and take this field coast-to-coast. (4) HEAVENLY SOUND has just one win over the past two seasons so he's tough to endorse for the top spot but he can land a piece with a good trip; shows early speed? (5) BETTOR SPIRITS N drops in class and Stratton sticks with his brother's horse here over a few others.
Race 5 - NW25000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) SHNITZLEDOSOMETHIN jogged in his last two starts versus overnight foes and it's not like he's been awful when facing aged stakes competition; Stratton picked him over a Tritton trainee and this guy clearly deserves top billing. (1) OUR MAX PHACTOR N should come away no worse than the pocket and sit a live trip. (8) LESPNDNITETOGETA A steps up, draws outside and loses his regular driver but there's not a ton of early speed in here; does Dube take a shot and send?
Race 6 - NW17500 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) IDEAL JIMMY is feeling good again, lands the best post and will be aggressively handled from the get-go. (5) FLAMING FLUTTER did the best he could last week into that stepped-up back half; Shane Tritton trainee is an obvious big threat here. (4) AMERICAN BOY N likely needed last week's start and he should be a decent price in here.
Race 7 - NW17500 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) TIGER BARON was going nowhere last week from the outside post last week but his prior two races were solid efforts at nice prices; he could offer some value here again in a race with no standouts. (6) YAYAS HOT SPOT N hasn't raced in almost a month but I'll be kicking myself if I didn't include a Tritton import with Stratton driving. (3) ART HISTORY was no match in a fast mile last out but overall the Laterza trainee has been going well.
Race 8 - NW25000 in last 5 starts Trot
(3) MISSION ACCEPTED was second best here three back chasing a 1:53 3/5 winner and he followed that up with a solid win on Hambo day; Burke trainee has a post edge on a couple of his main rivals. (4) OBRIGADO has been super since returning to Yonkers and the 10-year-old looks for his third straight. (5) RICH AND MISERABLE gets an interesting driver change to Zeron, subbing for Tyler Buter.
Race 9 - NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) MACHIAVELLI was an easy winner versus lesser two back and raced well out of town in his next start; Brennan can take control early from this spot and go the distance with the DiDomenico trainee. (1) BETTING EXCHANGE needed last week's start and should be tighter this time around. (5) OHOKA JOHNNY N hails from Tritton/Stratton…enough said.
