Race 1 - NW50000 in last 5 starts Pace
(6) ST LADS NEPTUNE hails from a low-percentage barn but he's got some hidden class and looked good in that qualifier with Bartlett driving. (5) HEAVENLY SOUND has just one win over the last two seasons but he's been facing better of late across the river. (4) TYMAL PEACEMAKER will take plenty of money but the Lachance trainee is running out of excuses.
Race 2 - NW17500 in last 5 starts Trot
(1) EYE OFA TIGER AS was a bit steppy chasing the streaking Stormy Kromer in his last local start but assuming the Lorentzon trainee has his mind on business he should be tough to catch. (2) WINNING SHADOW was no match for Obrigado last week and as previously mentioned he needs to find some more late stamina. (4) THE LAST CHAPTER certainly has license to contend with these; Bongiorno picks up the drive tonight.
Race 3 - NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) FOO FIGHTER N is another recent Shane Tritton import and he did face much better in his one local try; he's got a post edge on his main competition here and deserves top billing. (5) PASSA GRILLE BEACH hasn't shown much in recent Big M tries but anything resembling that effort from five back makes the Cullipher trainee a big player. (4) TOM ME GUN N was no match for the trip-sitting upset winner last out but it was a much-improved effort.
Race 4 - NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(7) SOHO LENNON A is accustomed to facing much better than these and I would expect the veteran to make his presence felt against this type; watch the board for signs of life. (3) BETTERLATETHNNEVER returns from Saratoga off two good tries in their Open; he gets Bartlett in the bike tonight and looms the one to beat. (5) SUNKEN TREASURE is back up in class off a blowout win versus softer.
Race 5 - NW25000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) ELWELL generally fights for smaller shares when at these upper levels but the Laterza trainee has been razor-sharp and should offer some decent value versus some tough competition. (7) SOMEWHERE IN L A obviously needs no introduction and he's reunited with Bartlett tonight; only problem is the post. (5) ROLLWITHPAPAJOE is a bit inconsistent but the 4-year-old Jenn Bongiorno trainee certainly has the talent.
Race 6 - NW25000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) TOOKADIVEOFFDIPPER seems to need the front to be most effective, which should be the case tonight from this spot. Price should be decent with the likes of (3) MICKY GEE N around. The latter drops from the Open with the top choice and he can fly home with the best of them. (6) SKYWAY QUINTON ships in sharp for the live Travis Alexander barn; small share maybe?
Race 7 - NW17500 in last 5 starts
(4) YAYAS HOT SPOT N gave it a big try from the eight hole before wilting in his last local try; I'll give the Tritton import another chance. (3) MCARDLES LIGHTNING has been a model of consistency since shipping in for DiDomenico and adding Brennan. (7) ORILLIA JOE isn't what he once was but he can still be effective with this type and he does have some early speed in his arsenal; consider for a share at a big price.
Race 8 - NW25000 in last 5 starts Trot
(3) LINDSEY’S PRIDE was no match for the likes of Stormy Kromer and Swansea but he did trot a steady mile in behind them last week and the prior start was a well-rated win; from this post he deserves top call. (5) CASH ME OUT had been very good prior to last week's sick scratch; player. (8) RICH AND MISERABLE may be the most talented in here but may also be done in by the eight hole.
Race 9 - NW17500 in last 5 starts
(1) LESPNDDNITETOGETA N is another Shane Tritton import I'll take a shot with tonight. He faces some legit rivals here but should set up with a winning trip. (2) ARCHANGEL THREE was just okay last start following a live flow; post relief helps. (3) MACHIATTO A gets Joe Bongiorno back in the bike and they teamed up to win at this level two back.
