Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace
(3) ELECTRIC WESTERN got rudely treated as the odds-on chalk last week but to his credit he held in gamely for the duration; he has a post edge on his main rivals tonight and obviously can get it done with a better trip. (6) AMERICAN NITRO battled with the top one and held determinedly to the wire; he goes for a new barn tonight off the claim and stays at a winning level. (5) MILITARY MASTER A hasn't been seen in a few months after getting claimed by Blumenfeld but that qualifier was fine.

Race 2: NW15500 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) NEW HEAVEN usually prospers when able to drop in class and drawing inside will only help his cause; veteran is the one to beat. (4) A FANCY FACE was going nowhere in the Joie De Vie at The Meadowlands but her prior start here was good. (8) BLUFFINNER graduates from the NW lifetime conditions and he gets Kalakey catch-driving for Smedshammer. Post eight is a problem, however.

Race 3: $15,000-$20,000 Claiming Handicap Pace
(1) MACHING TIME has disappointed a bit in his two starts off the Devita claim and now he drops below the level of the purchase price. That gets him a good inside draw in this handicap race and I'm confident he'll be ready to fire his best shot. (8) BRACKLEY BEACH goes for another new barn tonight and he's been sharp recently without a win to show for it. Gelding has always appeared to have some talent. (4) MAJOR BUCKS has been a steady performer for Jenn Bongiorno and now he leaves that barn off the claim. If he can maintain that form he can land a share at a nice price.
Race 4: $20,000 Claiming Pace
(3) MARINER SEELSTER moves back to DiDomenico off the re-claim and he raced very well for that barn. Bongiorno picks up the drive tonight from a live post. (4) ELRAMA N was taken right back by Nick Clegg and while he's a bit trip-dependent he's proven that he can go (and win) versus this type. (5) RAPTORS FLIGHT N is back in for a tag for the Dowse barn. Will he suddenly turn things around?
Race 5: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) TULLOW N put in a very useful effort last week versus a notch better and the veteran should be ready to roll tonight. (5) OUR MAJORDAN A has really fallen on hard times, so much so that he may not even be favored in the bottom-conditioned class. What will we get from him tonight? (6) ARTMAGIC was taken out of his last for $20K by Milici and he needs to step up his game; 20/1 ML. Speaking of falling on hard times, what to do with (8) THE DOWNTOWN BUS? Wait for a better post maybe?
Race 6: MGM Springfield Stakes Elimination Pace
(7) PLEASELETMEKNOW is a freshman gelding from the people who bring us American Courage. He raced very willingly in a NYSS event up at Buffalo on debut and though the outside post can present some issues he figures to be aggressively handled with only the top two guaranteed to make the final. (1) AMERICAN ARTIST K was a nice second timed in 1:53 4/5 in his career debut at Philly and he draws favorably here. (6) KJ HUNTER also went well in the NYSS at Buffalo for the Messenger barn; he'os from the first crop of Huntsville.
Race 7: MGM Springfield Stakes Elimination Pace
(4) TE AMO BLUE CHIP qualified four times already and seemed to get progressively better each time; I like how his last qualifier was here at Yonkers, were he was second best to a classy horse. (3) GONE BEFORE DAWN should be ready for primetime action for the Harris barn off that good morning trial at The Meadowlands. (2) STRETCH THE LINE jogged at Goshen last week but those breaks in his pari-mutuel debut at Philly make me a bit nervous.
Race 8: MGM Springfield Stakes Elimination Pace
(1) WOLFTRAX paced a solid back half to win his pari-mutuel debut down at Philly; I'll give the Wellwood trainee a look here as long as he's not overbet, as there do seem to be plenty of live options in this competitive division. (4) HURRIKANE CHUCK raced pretty well in his career debut then followed that up with a solid score in NYSS action at Buffalo; he should be prominently placed throughout. (2) GREG THE LEG battled with Hurrikane Chuck in that NYSS race and held his ground decently late; Huntsville-sired Schnittker trainee deserves a look.
Race 9: NW22800 in last 5 starts Trot
(6) MELADY'S MONET hasn't won in a couple of months but he's still raced well in every start of that dry spell; drop in class and switch back to Stratton will help his cause. (4) THE LAST CHAPTER made an uncharacteristic break two back then didn’t fire last start; he drops from the Open as well looking to bounce back. (2) BARRY BLACK was hinting at better fortunes of late so last week's win was no surprise; perhaps he's sharp enough to land a share facing considerably better.
Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) WEONA SIZZLER A has shown renewed life since moving to the Jenn Bongiorno barn and he jogged last week in his local return. Bump in class won't be a problem. (1) CAVIART STETSON should have offered more two back upon arrival but he followed that up with a nice wire-to-wire score and he draws inside again. (6) GHOST DANCE gave it a rugged try last week before flattening to fourth; veteran can be considered.

Race 11: NW30000 in last 5 starts Trot
(3) HILL OF A HORSE drops in class after a long stay in the Open and he can grind his way to victory from this spot. (5) EYE OFA TIGER AS has loads of talent but lacks the consistency. He can win this if his mind is on business. (1) BLUE AND BOLD tries a new driver tonight with Holland sticking with the top one and he should be in line for a good trip.
Race 12: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) AMERICAN BOY N finally found a field he could beat as he pummeled low-level pacers at Philly; import has plenty of back class and may have some confidence coming off that win. (5) BETTING EXCHANGE was uncovered into a wicked back half last week and could not gain; he certainly fits with this type and must be considered. I've always been a fan of (8) I’M BENICIO A so of course I wasn't around last week when he scored off the barn change. Tough spot tonight, but he'll offer a big price.
