Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 7/5

Matt Rose|Jul 03, 2024
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2024 MEET STATS: 210 - 710 / $1,160.00 (-$260.00)

BEST BETS: 30 - 61 / $110.60 (-$11.40)

BEST BET: JIVE DANCING A (2nd)

SPOT PLAY: DOUBLES N BUBBLES (8th)

Race 1: F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) LIT DE ROSE gets serious post relief as she faces a bit softer; classy mare is pretty obvious here so that means not much of a price, but this is the spot to get it done. (6) PURE SILKY has been sharp off the Bako claim with two straight easy wins; she steps up here and should be considered. (4) TONY'S MOM hasn't offered up much in her last few but figures to turn things around eventually; good spot for an aggressive try from Bartlett.

Race 2: F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(6) JIVE DANCING A simply did not produce in the Devita barn so connections move her back to Camilleri and faces the softest field she's seen in ages. Lots of positives here. (1) MISS CHANTILLY N was a sick scratch last week at The Meadowlands but she's right back in to go and she also faced much tougher when last at Yonkers. (3) ELISES DELIGHT gets some post relief and can land a piece with the catch-driving Joe Bongiorno.

Race 3: NW10251 in last 5 starts Trot

(1) HOOLIE N HECTOR gets a combination of class and post relief; last four times from a good inside post resulted in three silver medals and a bronze. (4) EPOS OSTERVANG DK has just gone evenly of late but the veteran from Engblom drops and figures to show more. (6) P L OSCAR found a field he could wire last week and he's very likely to be sent from the gate again.

Race 4: F&M NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) ULTIMATE SPEED has been right there in all recent but hasn't won since back in May; Alexander trainee is 1st or 2nd in 15 of 21 races this year and is a legit presence from this spot. (1) HELLO YES HI has also been a model of consistency since arriving for Burke and draws the rail. (6) SUGAR BRITCHES has awakened since Bartlett returned to the bike and she can be good for a share at an honest price.

Race 5: F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) DIXIE DREAM acclimated pretty well in her Yonkers debut for Burke after arriving from Hoosier and she figures to offer some value with #3 attracting much of the attention. (3) MIGHTHAVTIME N was a winner in his U.S. debut for the Blackler barn and now Bartlett gets the call with Brennan on #2. (5) TRUE BLUE HANOVER has some speed to potentially land close up and she can save ground from there and land a piece.

Race 6: NW15501 in last 5 starts Trot

(1) CRAZYLAND rolled to a handy front-end score last week and the Engblom trainee gets another crack at this level under the NW8 AE condition; one to catch at a short price. (3) DW'S POINT MAN was a good third two back facing better and the move back inside makes him a major player. (6) TEXSONG SOPRANO successfully dropped and popped at 1/5 odds; Buter drove that night and he's in the bike again.

Race 7: F&M NW8801 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) FADE OUT was a winner at a comparable level back in March and she woke up with a much-improved effort last out at Philly, though she did burn money. Cullipher trainee can strike from just off the pace. (2) JENDEN STRIKE A raced very well versus better in her last Yonkers race and the Cushing barn is always competitive here. (6) MACHS LEGACY A makes her U.S. debut off a sizzling qualifier at Monti.

Race 8: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot

(4) DOUBLES N BUBBLES looked like a new horse first-time out in the Gillis barn and she ships down to Yonkers getting a bit of a class test but this 4YO may have more to offer second-time on the barn change and second time on Lasix. (5) ANGELIKI is also now in a new barn as she arrives now with Travis Alexander; instant respect. (1) NO TURNING BACK drops for the fourth consecutive start and lands the rail while picking up Bartlett.

Race 9: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot

(3) KASHA V is a legit talent who has proven he's capable of picking up his game at any time; price should be right to give him a chance. (1) PEDAL ON METAL makes his local debut for the Lorentzon barn and he's been racing decently at Philly. (4) IMMANUEL K S drops again but must be respected from these connections however his form has been spotty.

Race 10: F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(5) ONEDERFULBEACH has not been functioning all that well recently in the Engblom barn so the connections move her to the Stratton barn. Maybe she clicks at a decent price. (4) SWEETEST BELLE had a solid 3YO campaign but just hasn't figured things out this year as she's 0 for 12 and counting, and has burned money along the way. Use caution. (2) BRI EXPRESS N gets serious post relief and should show more.
