Race 1 - NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) BETTOR REASON N skipped at the start last out and did finish up well but was forced to requalify (which he did effectively). Veteran lands in a winning spot versus a pretty soft field. (7) LONE RAIDER hasn't been in this cheap in quite some time and Brennan will be firing from the gate with the DiDomenico trainee; main threat. (3) BULLVILLE KYLE never wins but can usually be counted on for a share at this NW5000 level.

Race 2 - NW17500 in last 5 starts Trot

(3) EYE OFA TIGER AS returns locally for the Lorentzon barn and he was an eight-time winner here last season with over $256K banked. Gelding draws inside his main competition and is clearly the one to beat. (4) STORMY KROMER regained his stride in a hurry out of town and he's proven to be a legit Open-type here. (5) NEW HEAVEN didn't fire last start at Pocono when sent off at 100-1 from an outside post. Prior local start was good and he's another proven local commodity. (1) IN MY DREAMS beat up on lesser coming right off the break for Laterza but he figures for just a small share versus this tougher competition.

Race 3 - NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) NORTHERN SPORTSMAN is up in class but he looked very sharp beating lesser and he may be up to the task. (7) MAJOR CROCKER A also bumps up off a win and the import has plenty of back class to call upon. (4) ABRAXAS BLUES A beat these on the front end last start but he's always been a bit of an inconsistent sort and is tough to take a short price on.

Race 4 - Open Handicap Trot

(7) ELYSIUM LINDY made a speed break while barreling into the first turn last out; I'm not sold on the fact that he's a true "Open" horse but this field isn't especially strong and he may be worth a look at a price. (4) WARRIOR ONE has been in raging form and he's made his way to the top level; legit chance. (8) SWANSEA would be the clear choice here if not for the worst post. (6) MELADY'S MONET returns to the pari-mutuel wars off two winning qualifiers.

Race 5 - Open Handicap Pace

(7) JESSE DUKE N was dead-game for second to the well-rated winner when last seen at Yonkers and followed that up with a solid effort across the river; He loses his regular pilot Dexter Dunn and starts from a tough post but the import still deserves top billing. (6) AMERICAN MERCURY starts his 4-year-old campaign after banking over $700K last year and those qualifiers suggest he's ready to go; Bartlett gets the drive. (8) RAUKAPUKA RULER N looks for two straight at the Open level but is stuck in the worst post.

Race 6 - NW17500 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) ARTMAGIC is making his way back up the ladder looking for three straight; gelding is obviously feeling good and he does have plenty of back class. (1) FINE DIAMOND is also up in class after blitzing lesser and the horse he beat last start recently came back to win; best post helps. (4) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N hasn’t shown much recently but the Dilloian trainee is better than he's showing. (8) YAYAS HOT SPOT N was the victim of some bad luck last start and the bad luck continues with another outside draw.

Race 7 - NW17500 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) LESPNDNITETOGETA N ships in for Shane Tritton off a sick scratch but was a winner in his first two U.S. starts for connections that cannot be ignored. (5) HUDSON PHIL returns locally from upstate while on a good roll and he's faced better than these in the past. (6) MOHAWK WARRIOR was in distress in his last pari-mutuel start but followed that up with a solid qualifier and he's been a good local money-maker.

Race 8 - NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) ARQUE HANOVER has never been one of my favorites but he was a strong second in his last local start a few months ago and his recent Big M efforts haven't been all that bad; Marohn, Jr. gets the catch-drive tonight for Abbatiello. (4) STAR COMMANDER N gets Bartlett for his local return and he’s been facing some decent stock out of town. (6) CARLISIMO doesn't have great current form but he was Stratton's choice over a Shane Tritton trainee. (1) NATIONAL SEELSTER has fallen on some hard times but he does have plenty of back class.
