MEET STATS: 227 - 640 / $1,269.60 (-$10.40) BEST BETS: 31 - 63 / $100.30 (-$25.70) Best Bet: IDEAL SON (4th) Spot Play: PEMBROKE JOEY (5th) Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace (4) ROCKIN RAMBARAN hit town last week from The Meadowlands, raced pretty well for a board spot and was predictably claimed; he stays at a winning level for his new connections. (1) WAVES OF FIRE A hasn't really panned out after being taken for $15K by Garcia-Herrera but back at the basement level the veteran fits well. (5) SLUGGEM N stopped badly last week when claimed again and now drops back in below that sale price in hopes of awakening; prior races here were all solid. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW15400 in last 5 starts Trot (1) FASHION CREDITOR was left uncovered to grind last week and was outfinished in the late stages, though beaten only half a length; classy trotter draws well again and is in a spot to control the action. (7) WARRIOR ONE went down the road to beat lesser in his local return and if Brennan can get him away from the gate in good order he can line up a perfect trip. (2) STINGLIKE A B K is a bigger win threat a level or two down but the DiCostanzo entrants have done well here this season; use on the bottom of the ticket. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: $15,000 Claiming Pace (1) ELECTRIC WESTERN raced gamely in defeat in his last two, including getting beat by a sharp rival who came back to win again; he's up a notch off the Milici claim but seems capable of tripping out from this spot. (6) PLAY THE FIELD blasted down the road last start and stays at the same level, almost certain to be claimed. New driver Bongiorno could be emptying the tank again looking to repeat. (3) SHOREVIEW was disappointing in his local return but he goes for a new barn now off the claim and he's capable of better. Race 4: $15,000-$20,000 Claiming Pace (2) IDEAL SON looked razor-sharp in his last two local winning efforts and he absolutely deserves top billing here. (4) RUTHLESS DUDE goes for Renaud now off the claim looking to win a second straight; he appears to be the clear main threat to the top one. (1) ASTAIRE is much-improved in his last two, finishing third at big odds both here at up at Tioga; he can save ground and land another nice piece. Race 5: $20,000 Claiming Pace (4) PEMBROKE JOEY was taken out of his last race for $20K by DiDomenico despite being in for $15K a few starts back. He gets needed post relief and should be firing to the front. (5) DESIRE'S CAPTAIN blew way a weaker field last out for Team Bongiorno and he seems sharp enough to be a player with these. (3) COOL BLUES MAN also finds a better post and was Stratton's choice here, going with his brother's horse. Race 6: 3&4YO Open Handicap Pace (5) SPLASH BROTHER fired down the road last week in 1:50 1/5 with Buter picking up the catch-drive. Schnittker trainee faces some serious talent tonight but deserves the edge to repeat. (1) CHIEF MATE has had bad luck all season long, dating back to the Borgata series. He generously gets to draw for posts 1-4 and lands the rail; I would like to see some aggressive handling here. (6) DRAGON SAID has gone from Freehold afterthought to odds-on Open Handicap winner for Jenn Bongiorno in a short period of time. His presence here makes this race very intriguing. Race 7: NW30000 in last 5 starts Trot (2) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN has his ups and downs but year after year he's a proven moneymaker. A repeat of that effort two back will be good enough to beat these. (3) PATRIARCH HANOVER miscued last week but his prior start the Burke trainee missed a nose in the Open. (1) HILL OF A HORSE took a shot off the gate from the eight hole last week and almost pulled it off; Erv Miller trainee moves back inside and gets Stratton in the bike tonight. Race 8: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) JOJO'S PLACE raced well in defeat last start when dropped to this level; Lance Hudson trainee seems most logical here but probably won't offer much in the way of value. (2) ALBERT A' SCOOTIN raced steadily at Philly with Lasix added but he's 0 for 24 and counting this season. (8) OUR CORELLI N drops to a new low but he needs an alert getaway from the worst post. Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot (2) HOBBS has generally shown improvement since moving to the Schnittker barn and despite missing some time the trotter seems to be in a good spot here. (1) KANDY SWEET was second best from start to finish last out versus similar and she draws inside for good connections; logical. (6) LADY EAGLE has found her stride recently for Garcia-Herrera and she's sharp enough to grab a piece on the class hike. Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (3) SPORTS BETTOR drops to a lower conditioned level where he's always most successful and he's capable of a big effort here. (2) REIGNING DEO has plenty of local experience and he's generally been facing better recently in Pennsylvania; Marohn picks up the catch-drive. (7) DREAMFAIR CHARRO was claimed for $30K out of his last start by DiDomenico and he fits this NW7500 level; he'll need a good trip and some form improvement to make an impact here. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 11: NW21000 in last 5 starts Trot (5) THE LAST CHAPTER exits a good speed try where he came up second best to Melady's Monet; Brennan picks up the drive tonight and I have to believe this veteran will be forwardly placed. (2) NO MAS DRAMA raced very well in his last two Yonkers races. (1) A FANCY FACE was wildly overbet when last here but did come away with the victory, beating the classy New Heaven. Race 12: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (8) SPEED MAN N drops in class again but that is kind of offset by drawing the worst post. Price should be decent if he can get involved. (2) WARDAN EXPRESS A has generally been racing well and this feels like a good spot. (6) BRAEVIEW BONDI A should fit well with these but he faces an uncertain trip.
