Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 6/3

MEET STATS: 188 - 590 / $946.10 (-$233.90)
BEST BETS: 31 - 54 / $131.30 (+$23.30)
Best Bet: MELADY'S MONET (2nd)
Spot Play: FIZZING N (1st)
Race 1: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) FIZZING N was facing better in all recent Yonkers efforts, and that race two back was particularly good. Brennan is back driving and he should get aggressive from this spot. (6) GAMBLING ADDICTION enjoyed a smooth trip last start but did finish with good pace to make it close at the end. Harris trainee drops to the basement and will be heard from. (2) DA GHETTO WIZARD was a good second at this level three back.

Race 2: NW22580 in last 5 starts Trot
(1) MELADY'S MONET had a huge 2021 season at age 12 and he's back at his favorite venue and reunited with Bartlett. The win three back at Philly seems to indicate that he's still got the goods. (2) LIFETIME ROYALTY has been much-improved in his last couple and he seems capable of grinding his way onto the ticket. (3) PLUMB returns locally for Jenn Bongiorno and she won the Brennan consolation when we last saw her.

Race 3: $40,000 Claiming Pace
(2) SOUTHPORT BEACH steps up to the $40K claiming level for Dowse off an easy win and he faces a pretty soft field for this level; top billing. (8) MARINER SEELSTER was a solid winner at this level last out and the 13-year-old is in the midst of an extended form spree. (4) I GET THAT never got involved last start but was a solid winner the start prior and he does move in a couple of slots.
Race 4: $20,000 Claiming Pace
(7) MACHIAVELLI was a winner at the $40K and $50K level earlier this year before hitting the skids. Dowse trainee returns at a reduced level and is reunited with Bartlett. (3) SPORTSKEEPER dropped to this level for his last start and put in an improved effort with that third-place finish. He draws well here and can be a part of this. (4) CASHNCAM has raced well in two starts after being claimed by DiDomenico.
Race 5: NW17640 in last 5 starts Trot
(4) JUSTLIKEHIM has had some breaking issues since being claimed by the Dowse barn but that was a solid effort in defeat last out at Pocono with Bartlett driving there and he returns locally into a seemingly live spot. (3) SWANSEA is still having problems finishing his miles and therefore is tough to use for the top spot but his early speed always sets him up nicely. (1) THE LAST CHAPTER also has good speed from the best post and the veteran figures to trip out for a share.
Race 6: $15,000 Claiming Pace
(1) LETTUCERIPRITA A has been rock-solid in practically every start since Gillis took over the training and this 12-year-old veteran is clearly the one to beat again. (3) TEXAS TERROR N was reclaimed three back by the Jenn Bongiorno barn for $25K and after two poor outings he's in for $15K. Are the wheels finally falling off this 14-year-old? (4) ZOEEZ BOY HENRY had no chance in his first start off the DiDomenico claim but he gets needed post relief and has upset possibilities if the speed of the field comes back to him late.
Race 7: $12,500 Claiming Pace
(2) CAROLINA MAGIC basically went through the motions in his last two starts from outside posts but he now moves inside and faces a very questionable field. Young driver Braxton Boyd has proven he can compete with the 'big boys'. (5) HERE COMES SWIFTY has been looking good recently at Monticello and he gets Kakaley back in the bike. They teamed up for a win here back in March. (8) BAKERSFIELD has clearly found a home at this level but has to overcome the eight hole.
Race 8: NW30000 in last 5 starts Trot
(1) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN absolutely jogged in his last two at Freehold after being claimed here by Burke for $50K. Veteran just went over the $1.2 million earnings mark and it seems pretty obvious what Brennan's strategy will be. (8) GHOSTINTHESHELL S was aggressively handled by Dube upon arrival and the Svanstedt trainee paid a square price. There will be some value to be had again starting from the eight hole. (2) NEW HEAVEN made a very uncharacteristic break last start but prior to that he had been racing well. He can sit close up and garner a nice share.

Race 9: NW7865 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) FOX VALLEY INFERNO found a soft spot to 'drop and pop' last out. Gelding bumps back up a notch but has the back class to take another. (8) SARANAC BLUE CHIP is interesting here. He's stuck in the eight hole but faces much softer and we've seen speed from him in the past. (2) GUMPTION laid over a soft field two back at Philly and he's done okay here in the past.
Race 10: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) JIMS PERFECT TEN has shown little in three starts since being claimed by Bongiorno for $40K. He's 0 for 17 and counting this season but does find his easiest spot in some time. (3) DELIGHTFUL TERROR comes out of the same race as the top choice at The Meadowlands, where the winner went in 1:48 3/5. He was facing tons better here in prior starts. Wakeup call? (4) MAROMA BEACH gets Holland to drive tonight and we know he does well with longshots; gelding does have a recent win at Philly.
