2024 MEET STATS: 134 - 445 / $732.30 (-$157.70) BEST BETS: 20 - 38 / $72.40 (-$3.60) BEST BET: SWISS HOUSE ONFIRE (5th) SPOT PLAY: BEERTHIRTY K (9th) Race 1: F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (1) LYONS MIKI was in a different zip code last week but the start prior she was a pocket-sitting winner at Freehold in 1:55 1/5. Lachance trainee is back on the rail and could work out a similar trip. (4) NITE TIME DEAL is back from The Meadowlands and has been a victim of tough posts lately. Moves in to the four hole, picks up Bartlett. (3) CATIE FAYE HANOVER finished close last week at a big price; similar effort puts her right there. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M Invitational Pace (4) COACHELLABOUND N is back from that stakes engagement at Philly where she was a nose shy of finishing second to Twin B Joe Fresh (though about 100 lengths behind that winner). Now third-time Lasix she may be ready to win. (2) MAJORCA N is back from Delaware and has won three of five at Harrington. She finished second here twice last season. (3) SILK CLOUD A has been razor-sharp for the Peter Tritton barn. Race 3: NW15951 in last 5 starts Trot (1) THE GRUFFALO is now 2 for 2 since adding the hobbles, one of my favorite angles. Harder trainee did have a win here as a 2YO in a NYSS event. (7) P L OSCAR drops in class and is reunited with Holland, who will likely be looking to fire off the gate. (3) DIAMONTE TRIO IT broke last week but won easily the start prior with Brennan in the bike. Race 4: F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) GOLDEN QUEST N could not make a serious impact last start at the Invitational level but the classy mare is most comfortable at this optional claiming level; she can go on or off the pace to get it done. (4) NO WIN NO FEED A has been a cash machine this year at this level and Bartlett will look to head to the front with the Engblom trainee. Note that four back she charged home from the rear to just miss; versatility is an added bonus. (1) JIVE DANCING A seems to have tailed off in her last couple but she still deserves consideration, especially with the move inside. Race 5: NW5071 in last 5 starts Trot (4) SWISS HOUSE ONFIRE has had success here in the past generally facing better and he does have some early speed to play with. He can stalk (1) WINGSONG PIONEER and roll by late. The latter has been faltering late in all recent miles, needs to work on his stamina. (5) DRACO S was a no-match 3rd at odds-on when dropped to this level; at least the price goes up tonight. Race 6: F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) TALENT TO SPARE A was a good second to #5 last week and now with the post edge on that one maybe she can turn the tables. (5) SUGAR BRITCHES, like #3, turned things around last start with a strong effort. Engblom trainee can certainly build off that race. (7) MAN DONTFORGET ME continues to drive me nuts. Two weeks ago I finally jumped off her and she jogged from the outside post. It does look like there's a little more speed inside of her tonight. Race 7: NW10000 in last 5 starts Trot (3) HAT TRICK MARLEAU is another Bucci trainee who finds a softer spot tonight and will look to take advantage of the opportunity. He should be close up throughout or could be sent to the front. (4) VALI HANOVER picks up Bartlett in his local return and he's got a solid local history. (6) B NICKING was much better last week as he ran second to the classy Warrior One. Race 8: F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) TRUE BLUE HANOVER came through last week when it looked like she was in a live spot and she gets a free ride at this level by meeting the NW8 condition. 4YO looks to repeat. (1) A GIRL THAT TWIRLS is 0 for 9 since arriving at Yonkers but she has finished second four times; Engblom trainee will need to pick up her game to come out on top. (3) CELIA B MONEY took it easy last out and finished with pace in :27 4/5. Does the Burke trainee build off that improved effort? Race 9: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot (6) BEERTHIRTY K has always been a nice trotter and he rolled from the eight hole second-time in the DiDomenico barn. Sharp sort can repeat bumping up. (1) BAR COINS has regressed in his last two after that good finish three back at the $40K claiming level. Lachance picks up the drive on the class-dropping Bongiorno trainee and he lands the rail again. (5) THE LAST CHAPTER bounced back quickly from that debacle in his last start and he's got too much class to ignore. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: F&M NW21161 in last 5 starts Pace (2) LISA LANE gets a big driver upgrade to Yonkers regular Jordan Stratton and maybe that gets this 4YO over the top. (1) PEMBROKE SOUTHIE has been right there in every start this year and is a candidate to take these a long way on the front end. (4) CHERYLS SHADOW is best a level or two down but she does get post relief after finishing close from no-mans land last week. Race 11: $30,000 Claiming Pace (3) GENIUS MAN hasn't done much for these connections since being claimed for $30K but he was bet hard last week from the outside post and never got involved. Maybe with the post relief he can show what he's capable of. (4) SURFSIDE BEACH goes to Laterza via claim and he faces mostly similar in this open (not age-restricted) claimer. (1) KERFORD ROAD A has been a model of consistency but is also off three weeks; use caution.
