MEET STATS: 167 - 452 / $940.30 (+$36.30) BEST BETS: 23 - 46 / $72.30 (-$19.70) Best Bet: MAGICAL JOURNEY (2nd) Spot Play: TAP TAP TAP (5th) Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace (1) RANSOM DEMAND has raced reasonably well here in the past at these lower levels and he gets Holland in the bike from the best post for his local return. (4) GRAND MASTER was better last week in his second start since moving to the Jenn Bongiorno barn. (7) CINNABAR DRAGON was off slowly last out in another erratic effort but when right he can beat these, even from the poor post. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Preferred Trot (3) MAGICAL JOURNEY took the money last week and was put on the front end but got nipped by the trip-sitting New Heaven (who has been good all season); trotter can take this with similar tactics from Dube. (5) THE LAST CHAPTER has good speed which always sets him up nicely to give him a chance but he is sometimes lacking in the late stages. (4) KINDA LUCKY LINDY stayed in facing Open foes in his last race but he faces softer here and he does have a strong closing kick. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: $20,000 Claiming Pace (1) MARINER SEELSTER was stuck in the pocket last week as the leader was quitting so I won't hold that against him. Prior efforts for this veteran have been good and he can take this with a little more racing luck. (2) PEMBROKE JOEY was tons the best last start beating $15K claimers and he deservedly bumps up a notch tonight. (7) CONTROL TOWER picked up shares in his three starts for the Rhoades barn but he wasn't particularly sharp; he moves to the Hunter Oakes barn tonight and is reunited with Holland. Definitely worth considering at what should be a decent price. Race 4: $12,500-$15,000 Claiming Handicap Pace (4) PLAY THE FIELD goes for another new barn tonight off the claim (Adamczyk) and he moves in a few slots after three consecutive eight holes. With a post edge on those entered for the higher tag in this handicap race he certainly deserves consideration, especially if anywhere near his 15/1 morning line. (1) DO YA THINK doesn't have much of a lifetime record and he's missed time but he arrives from Pennsylvania now in the Devita barn, and anything from that outfit deserves respect. (6) TASTE OF HISTORY collapsed on the front end versus better last week but he drops back to the level of the recent claim. Race 5: $20,000 Claiming Pace (4) TAP TAP TAP was an interesting claim by Burke last week and he's raced pretty well in his last few despite tough trips; Brennan will likely have him closer to the action tonight. (6) VICTORIAS MAVERICK has taken his last two in the Devita barn winning by open lengths; sharp sort from sharp barn must be included. (3) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A was hammered at the windows off the Bongiorno claim but he tired badly from the pocket; veteran drops back down in class. Race 6: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) SPORTS BETTOR drops back down to NW5000 and he's taken his last two at this level with Brennan driving. (1) EPIC ACE also drops in class after pretty much going through the motions in his last few from outside posts chasing better; main player. (4) VANQUISHED N has also done little while facing better but he can wake up in this spot. Race 7: Open Handicap Trot (4) LEAN HANOVER hasn't won at this top level in quite some time but overall he's been racing really well and this feels like a good spot for the Toscano trainee to convert. (8) MISSISSIPPI STORM has been razor-sharp but it may be hard tonight from the eight hole especially with a speedy type right to his inside. (2) HILL OF A HORSE just missed last week to Melady's Monet and he gets Holland back in the bike tonight. Race 8: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (1) MY MIND IS MADEUP went a solid mile in defeat first out for the Jenn Bongiorno barn and he draws the innermost post tonight giving brother Joe tactical options. He faces a better field overall than he did last week but seems good enough to get it done. (4) IMSTAYNALIVE beat a classy horse (Shneonucrzydiamnd A) in 1:51 3/5 last week for Lachance. How often does a bottom-level race go that fast? Obviously he can double-up here. (7) ANTHEM N is always a threat to leave the gate. If you think Stratton will get him in play early then obviously include him. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot (1) LINDSEY’S PRIDE went down the road to beat lesser last week and the bump in class doesn't really scare me as he was an Open winner back in February. Short price looming on this Andrew Harris trainee. (3) ARMAGEDON SEELSTER raced well for third last out in that watered-down Preferred; he can sit a trip behind the top one and take his shot late. (6) PATRIARCH HANOVER came up second best as the odds-on favorite at Philly but the Burke trainee was a winner here the start prior. Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (1) RETOUR AU JEU looked great when he first hit town for Laterza, then tailed off some, but he's feeling good again. He can grind his way to another victory tonight. (6) FOREVER FAV has been unable to close the deal in his two starts off the Jenn Bongiorno claim but he figures to be aggressively handled again and he has a legit shot. (5) FIREBALL didn't fire at all last week after a big win the start prior; he loses Stratton to the top choice but at least the price will go way up on this veteran.
