MEET STATS: 47 - 170 / $223.10 (-$116.90) BEST BETS: 6 - 16 / $22.40 (-$9.60) Best Bet: MACH N CHEESE (2nd) Spot Play: STREET GOSSIP (8th) Race 1: NW15665 in last 5 starts Trot (1) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN is clearly a much different horse when he draws well. Drop in class and move inside makes this classy veteran the one to beat. (4) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN also drops in class in his second start after being claimed by the Dowse barn and early speed has always been his best weapon; he should set up nicely on the lead or in the pocket from this spot. (7) CHAMPAGNE ON ICE ran out of gas last start in a disappointing effort at odds-on; price goes way up tonight and the Bongiorno trainee can be a candidate to hit the ticket. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) MACH N CHEESE showed some life last start and he's back in on consecutive weeks again; there's some positives now with this classy gelding. (2) ALOTBETTOR N was used hard last week and tired badly; prior couple of starts were good. (1) MCSPIDEY was decent at both ends last out and he's another classy veteran that seems to be trending in the right direction. Race 3: 3-5YO $30,000 Claiming Pace (5) LOUIE LOUIE gave a good accounting of himself in his local debut when second best to a sharp winner; Burke trainee seems like he'll be a good fit with this type. (7) MOONLIGHT SHADOW has been solid in his last couple and now goes for the Bako barn off the claim; he's a must-use despite the post. (2) KEYSTONE NOLAN has suddenly become popular at the claim box though he hasn't been that great in his last couple; inside post helps. Race 4: NW21830 in last 5 starts Trot (5) HEY LIVVY was aggressively sent to the lead and was setting a fast pace when she jumped it off in her Yonkers return; she qualified back effectively and deserves another chance. (2) NO MAS DRAMA has been away since November but she's a borderline Open-type trotter who deserves respect right off the bench. (4) EUROBOND was a winner upon arrival but was set down to second so that enables him to stay at basically the same level. Race 5: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) HEAVEN'S GAIT returns locally off a failed try at Pocono and he was racing pretty well here despite not finding the winner's circle in quite some time; Devita trainee fits well here and gets the call. (2) ITSMYCHECK GB is feeling good again and bumps up looking for two straight; veteran will be the likely pacesetter again. (5) LIKE CLOCKWORK seemed a tad overmatched in his last couple at The Meadowlands and he gets the catch-driving Marohn back in the bike. Race 6: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot (6) B NICKING was outmuscled late in a good speed try for his new barn upon arrival from Ohio and he may be even sharper tonight. (2) ETHAN T HANOVER took money in his seasonal debut but didn't get involved; trotter is coming off a solid three-year-old season and lands a much better post here. (1) THE LAST CHAPTER picked up a minor share in a needed start last week and he's always a board threat when drawn well. Race 7: $12,500 Claiming Pace (3) WINNING LINE broke last week but his prior start wasn't all that bad and these connections have done well with these recent shippers; worth a look at a price in a field loaded with question marks. (2) LOTTERY WINNER never got close to the runaway winner in last but at least he's been behaving himself, with three straight "clean" efforts. (1) COACH CAL drops back down to the $12,500 claiming level looking to awaken and the 13-year-old draws best. (5) MISSISSIPPI STORM was aggressively handled here two back before tiring and he followed that up with a winning trip to Dover; Fanning trainee looms very large here. (7) WARRIOR ONE was last week's Open winner with a solid off-the-pace score and he's got the early speed to overcome the outermost post. Race 9: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (4) FLYINGEVENBETTOR N is 0-for-ever at Yonkers and he hasn't even been particularly competitive in many of those races but the Alagna barn keeps sending him out here rather than try a different venue which I find interesting. Maybe he's sitting on a big effort? (2) HUNDIE N took a strange route to the winner's circle last week when he pulled pocket and drifted wide but kept coming to beat a notch lesser. He's probably the one to beat again. (8) WEONA SIZZLER A has not been at his best recently but he's way better than these if he can figure things out.
