2025 MEET STATS: 54 - 179 / $342.70 (-$15.30) BEST BETS: 8 - 17 / $24.40 (-$9.60) BEST BET: BUCKTOBER (11th) SPOT PLAY: NO DRAMA PLEASE (8th) Race 1: F&M NW15731 in last 5 starts Pace (4) TAKING THE MIKI A returns from The Meadowlands for the Cullipher and she's been much improved with Lasix added. Lightly raced the last couple of seasons but she does have a 1:54 mark here in 2004. (1) GOLDEN QUEST N was unable to make a serious dent last week after beating softer with ease in her prior start. Classy vet lands the rail and figures to be more aggressively handled. (2) INTOTHEMYSTICMOON is solid Burke stock with Gingras and she missed a head last out; mare will be close throughout. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M NW5001 in last 5 starts Pace (3) CHILLIN BYTHE POOL hasn't exactly been a winning machine but she's been competitive in recent tries while facing better and she returns to Holland with a decent draw; worth a look in a dull race. (1) TWO PISTOL ANNIE will attract plenty of attention but she just hasn't been finishing; by default she's the one to beat but there are better favorites out there. (2) CRUISE ALERT was second best from a similar spot last month. Race 3: F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (6) LYDEO proved an easy wire-to-wire winner last week out of the six hole and Bartlett drives again. She's got back class so the step up to face better may not derail her. (3) CHIAPANECAS is two heads shy of a four-race winning streak for Engblom and co-owner Gingras; obvious player again. (2) ULTIMATE SPEED gets some needed post relief and she figures to be an early speed presence in here. Race 4: NW11151 in last 5 starts Trot (2) MYCROWNYKINGDOM beat similar from well back three starts ago then was saddled with awful posts in his last two and raced evenly. Stafford trainee gets to move inside tonight and faces a field with unreliable speed. (5) RITSON was decent in defeat last week after winning his prior start; Noel Daley trainee steps up again and gets a new driver in Gingras, with Holland on #2. May have more upside than the rest. (3) B NICKING figures to be heading to the front but he loses ground and positions late in the mile practically every start. Race 5: F&M NW7821 in last 5 starts Pace (2) TRICK OF THE LIGHT is down in class again (along with others) but she has a post and tactical edge on most of these and new driver Brennan figures to have the mare up close to the front. (4) EASY TO PLEASE gets significant post relief and she's the class of the field; if she repeats the effort from four back she's a winner. (5) VILLAGE JADE successfully dropped and popped last week; will be tough to repeat but she's certainly worthy of a board spot. Race 6: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot (3) TORRONE was a decent third last out facing a couple of tough ones and Holland sticks with the Fanning trainee from a spot where he can get away on the front or in the pocket; trip can get it done in this competitive field. (5) UNEVERGONNAGETHIS is still searching for his first 2025 win after banking almost $160K a season ago and the Gillis trainee fits well with these. (2) WINDSONG PIONEER gets a new driver in Kakaley and he's raced well enough to win in his last couple but came up a bit shy. Race 7: F&M NW33541 in last 5 starts Pace (1) LLOYD'S LOVES was bet to odds-on with the drop in class last week but she managed to not be a factor. Tonight the 19-time winner from a season ago figures to be aggressively handled from this spot looking to get off the seasonal schneid. (4) ELEKTRA A took the money upon arrival from Dover and did not disappoint; Cullipher trainee faces a little better but is clearly a threat to repeat. (7) SILK CLOUD A is stuck outside yet again and will be a price despite being as talented as any in here; maybe Stratton can sneak her into contention. Race 8: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot (2) NO DRAMA PLEASE returns to Holland and was a winner in this class with this driver back in December. Veteran draws decently facing a field that's been relatively camera shy recently. (6) ABRUZZO steps up notch off a loss but gets a driver change to Gingras; maybe that helps and he should be a fair price. (4) P CHICO returns from The Meadowlands and picks up the leading driver. Race 9: F&M NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) COACHELLABOUND N was hammered to odds-on last start when dropping from the invite but after being used brushing to the front she gave way. With an easier trip I think she's talented enough to rebound at a much better price. (4) CHERYLS SHADOW has good early speed which can set her up nicely. (5) MILLWOOD BLISS N is the 'X' factor here as she's another talented import who closed with pace in her initial two Meadowlands tries but she burned money there and will take money here. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) LUCKY ARTIST A raced well in her last two and the classy veteran is clearly close to a return to the winner's circle; drop in class could get her over the top. (1) LINEMUP KNOCKEMBACK had some traffic in her local return, also drops, moves inside and picks up Bartlett. (5) TWIN B SUNKISSED appeared a bit overmatched last week but can land a share with these. Race 11: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot (3) BUCKTOBER recently shipped in from Canada and joined the Bako barn, then overcame a break and tough trip to just miss in his local debut, also with Lasix added. Trotter can get over the top tonight. (4) R NO MERCY is another Canadian shipper arriving in the Lachance barn, and he qualified nicely. Appears ready to go at first asking. (2) J S HOPSCOTCH drops in class again but with little current form; he did bank almost $100K last year and maybe needs to face softer in order to turn things around.
