2024 MEET STATS: 28 - 89 / $187.60 (+$9.60) BEST BETS: 5 - 8 / $16.40 (+$0.40) BEST BET: MILLWOOD BONNIE N (1st) SPOT PLAY: BLUEBIRD JESSIE (7th) Race 1: F&M NW12301 in last 5 starts Pace (2) MILLWOOD BONNIE N was very sharp winning her last two and given all that back class she has I have no problem sticking with her as she bumps up to face better again. (4) MISS DOTTIE MAE took a little money on her return try but was never a player; mare drops again with a slightly improved post and I can envision Holland being aggressive with her tonight. (8) DRAGONS LUCKY LADY was also a solid winner last week and she gets to stay at the same level but obviously the move to the eight hole makes things more difficult. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M Invitational Pace, 1-5 drawn, 6 assgnd (2) EASY TO PLEASE seems to be firing on all cylinders again as she hikes back to the top level looking to take her third straight. Stratton trainee is capable with a smooth trip. (6) MIKALA cruised in her seasonal debut but that was from a cozy inside spot and clearly things become a bit more difficult with the outside post assignment. Can Brennan make the lead? (5) LUCKY ARTIST A didn't have much to offer last week in the race that #6 won but prior to that the classy mare had woken up in a big way when she was facing lesser. Speed try coming? [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (1) WHATINEEDISAWOMAN not surprisingly has raced well in three starts since arriving from Ontario to join the Engblom barn. Mare gets a bit more of a class test tonight. (5) IRON MISTRESS has raced very well in her two 2024 starts and though she was just 1 for 21 last year her lone win came from a similar spot. (2) TWIN B SUNKISSED has spotty recent form but the Burke trainee has been facing much better recently. Race 4: F&M NW22486 in last 5 starts Pace (2) MAN DONTFORGET ME has proven she can hold own with this type and figures to offer a good price on the bump in class in this wide-open affair. Mare does need a smooth trip but is versatile. (6) COACHELLABOUND N was treated rudely in her local return but still held well for a piece. Outside post again makes the degree of difficulty higher but maybe Holland can get one big late run out of her. (1) DELITFULCATHERIN N seems to have perked up in Canada and she's a legit Open-type when right. Race 5: NW10000 in last 5 starts Trot (7) SWEET SOUL DAVID raced well to be second best in his first start off the bench and now gets to drop to face softer. Drennan trainee looks best here despite the outside post. (1) VALI HANOVER steps up a notch looking to repeat; draws well again and Stratton picks up the drive. (6) TOP ME OFF has been right there in his last four over at The Meadowlands and Bartlett returns on the Engblom trainee. Race 6: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) EL'S ROCKER dropped and popped with authority last week as he blazed the way in a 1:53 3/5 mile. Similar effort from Joe B can take this. (5) ADAM CROCKER A has won three straight in frontrunning fashion and he too steps up a notch while in razor-sharp form. (1) FEELIN WESTERN is accustomed to facing better than these but he's been off more than four months and comes off of two qualifiers where he just tracked along. Stratton trainee gets Yannick in the bike and I suspect he'll need a start or two, Race 7: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot (4) BLUEBIRD JESSIE raced pretty well in his last two local tries and the veteran has had plenty of success over this oval in the past. This barn had a nice winner here the other night with Gingras in the bike. (1) WILLY WALLY gets Bartlett back in the bike after Per Engblom handled the duties himself the last couple of races at Freehold. Walner offspring still has plenty to prove but does seem capable. (3) EVERLASTINGFASHION gave it an aggressive try last week and was outfinished late; Trotter from the Bongiorno outfit deserves another look. Race 8: F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) MORNING HAS BROKEN had too far to come last week which is often the case when she's drawn outside; Bako trainee gets a new set of hands in Gingras, moves in a couple of spots and should be there right on the wire with a reasonable trip. (1) DELTA THREE N won at first asking for Blackler/Bartlett and the recent import will be favored to repeat. (2) AVF CLAIRE has been very sharp in his last four at The Big M and returns locally looking like a new horse. Race 9: NW15671 in last 5 starts Trot (5) J-S HOPSCOTCH could not have looked any better in his first start for the Alexander barn and facing a similar class of trotters he gets the call to win another. (7) GRINDER put it all together last week in a fine effort and obviously it gets tougher now with the outside post but that helps the price. (1) QUIKSILVR BLUECHIP was claimed for $40K when he finished third to #5 and he moves all the way inside in his debut for Adamczyk. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: F&M NW5086 in last 5 starts Pace (4) ON THE MONEY GB drops back to the basement conditioned level where the Burke trainee was second best last month; with the post edge on her main competition she gets top billing. (5) TWIN B ECHO is a rare Doug Dilloian trainee who hasn't been a factor in any recent races but this represents major class relief and I suspect an aggressive try is coming with Bartlett getting the drive. (7) CASH ROLL grinded out over $75K over the last 13 months for the Schnittker barn and she does her best work at these levels; post hurts, however. Race 11: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot (6) KASHA V has been a nice trotter since day one for the Tom Corelli barn and he returns from The Meadowlands at a greatly reduced level. If Stratton can get him involved early enough he can roll over these. (1) BEERTHIRTY K is a bonafide speed threat from the rail. (2) WINDSONG PIONEER finished close up last start with some traffic issues and his prior start was good. Stafford trainee gets another crack at this reduced level and he'll be a player.
