2024 MEET STATS: 16 - 54 / $121.00 (+$13.00) BEST BETS: 3 - 5 / $11.00 (+$1.00) BEST BET: MIKALA (2nd) SPOT PLAY: COACHELLABOUND N (8th) Race 1: F&M NW7891 in last 5 starts Pace (2) COWGIRL LILLY lacks the current form of some others in here but she's got plenty of back class and surely will appreciate the class and post relief. Holland should be able to step around the rail horse and set up with a live trip. (4) MILLWOOD BONNIE N is also loaded with class and is the deserving favorite off last week's sharp 2024 debut. (3) BOLT OF BEAUTY returns locally for the Erv Miller barn and her lone win here last season was at the $50K claiming level. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M Invitational Pace; 1 assgn, 2-5 drawn (2) MIKALA ended her season on a down note as she wilted badly in the FanDuel at The Meadowlands but she's back after a couple of months on the shelf and finds a good spot to make her 2024 debut. (4) TONY'S MOM returns to Yonkers on the strength of a sharp pocket-sitting score in the winners over at The Big M; main threat. (3) LUCKY ARTIST is back in fighting form and the veteran fits with these when on her best. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) NOWHERE CREEK A has not been making much of an impact at this and comparable levels recently but he does gets the services of Kakaley again in this soft field and this barn had a couple of upset winners the other night. (5) JOHNNY BADLANDS was a bit short upon arrival but it was an improved effort and the recent addition to the Burke barn could have more to offer. (3) BIG SIR has been a disaster since being claimed for $50K early last year but he gets Bartlett in the bike tonight who has historically has done well for the Blackler barn. Race 4: NW11739 in last 5 starts Trot (6) ROSIE'S WAR BONDS raced well last week in his local debut and could have much more to offer making his second start for the Engblom barn. Only concern is the speed to his inside. (5) THE LAST CHAPTER goes for three straight as he works his back up the class ladder. (4) GRINDER has raced pretty well in his last two as he tries to pay some dividends off that $50K claim last November. Race 5: F&M NW5301 in last 5 starts Pace (3) WHATINEEDISAMAN makes his third start for Engblom after coming down from Canada and he raced well from tough outside posts in his first two. Seems like very logical selecting tonight. (2) ROCKNROLL ANNIE makes her second start at this reduced level and the Bucci trainee is a speed threat with Brennan. (5) CASH ROLL was used to secure the pocket last week then was bottomed out. She's better than that. Race 6: F&M NW11461 in last 5 starts Pace (6) MORNING HAS BROKEN gave it an aggressive try and was understandably outfinished in a needed start last week. Bako trainee has upset potential with a reasonable trip. (2) HEAVENS SHOWGIRL A was buried last week in her 9YO debut and finished with pace once clear. She looks tough with another inside post. (7) LAURIE LEE faces much better here and moves to an outside post but she was so dominant in that recent win so maybe she's sharp enough to sneak into the tri or super. Race 7: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot (1) EUROBOND clearly has loads of talent but is erratic as they come, as evidenced by last week's break. I'll give him another chance and hope he isn't too overbet. (2) BLACK TIE BASH finished well in his last start for Lachance and looms for a big piece again. (3) SWEET SOUL DAVID cruised in that recent qualifier as he looks to get his 6YO campaign underway; figures to show some speed. Race 8: F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (6) COACHELLABOUND N was on a major run at the top levels here in the second half of 2023 and she has a recent win over at The Meadowlands as well. Bucci trainee draws outside but she has speed and Holland isn't bashful about firing from the gate. (1) EASY TO PLEASE looked like she may have been ready to take that next step after a big 4YO campaign but it never really materialized that way. She woke up with a nice win last week however, so we'll see if she builds off that. (4) NO WIN NO FEED A returns off a win at Meadowlands for co-owner Gingras, (5) ALEXA SKYE is a classy vet. Interesting race. Race 9: NW5771 in last 5 starts Trot (3) HAZYSHADEOFWINTERS hasn't done anything of note recently at The Meadowlands but she was second best versus similar at Yonkers back in December; tepid call here. (6) AFTER ALL PAUL qualified effectively and knows his way around this surface. (7) SCUBADAN shops in from The Meadows with a barn change to Alexander and Kakaley picks up the drive. Maybe he sneaks into the number at a big price and keep an eye on him for future starts. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: F&M NW17401 in last 5 starts Pace (1) BOORAA N was turned away last week by a classy rival and now she drops a notch and Cushing will likely be looking to take this field down the road. (2) MAN DONTFORGET ME closed a ton in her seasonal debut and the $225K-plus earner from a year ago is versatile and a huge threat here, but will likely be overbet. (4) DRAGONS LUCKY LADY needed last week's start and lands a much more reasonable post. Race 11: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (2) YNOTTHISHOS fired down the road over a sloppy track at Freehold and sizzled in 1:54 4/5. Clearly he lacks the class of others in here but may be sharp enough to do some damage. (3) SLING SHOCK is finally starting to come around after that high-priced claim back in early December; Vallee trainee returns off a win across the river and Bartlett drives again. (5) QUALITY BUD starts up his 11YO campaign off his most prosperous season where he banked $136K; veteran is always a threat at these lower levels. Race 12: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot (3) DW'S POINT MAN has raced reasonably well from poor posts in all recent starts for Lachance and five back he jogged on the front end at Freehold out of the three hole. (2) VALI HANOVER was even-money and never a threat against better last week. Big earner from a year ago may have needed that start after being off over six weeks. (4) PERFECT VIXEN hails from good connections and drops from the same race as #2. [DRF HARNESS: Follow me on Twitter! @drfharnessmatt]
