Race 1: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) DAVIDS COMING HOME hasn't really clicked recently but there were excuses - facing much better and poor posts. He moves inside now versus lesser and this barn has been going well. (1) ORILLIA JOE is an obvious threat to take these wire-to-wire but he's not that reliable anymore in his old age. (4) ST LADS NEPTUNE was a decent third last out when dropped to this bottom level.

Race 2: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) SOMEBEACH BARON has been a disappointment since that $35K claim a few months ago but he faces a bit softer here from the best post and Marcus/Erv went three for three the other night.(4) YAYAS HOT SPOT N has class to him bit is off plenty of time. (2) FLYINGEVENBETTOR N was 0 for 19 last year but did have some decent runner-up efforts.

Race 3: $20,000 Claiming Pace

(1) RISKY MILLION returns locally now in the Paul Fusco barn and draws best in a very suspect field; form hasn't been bad and Bartlett gets the call. (6) AUTHENTIC HANOVER arrives from Northfield and enters the Cory Stratton barn; this worked some time back with Venier Hanover. (2) MCARDLES LIGHTNING qualified okay and is proven with this type.

Race 4: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot

(2) CHAMPAGNE ON ICE qualified sharply with the hobbles added, one of my favorite angles. (3) STICK WITH ME KID is up the class ladder again while razor-sharp; not sure what the trainer change is about. (6) EMOTIONS RICHES has been super in his last three for Laterza; closing threat?

Race 5: $15,000 Claiming Pace

(3) TEXAS TERROR N keeps chugging along at his advanced age and he gets the call despite his main competition drawn inside of him. (1) TASTE OF HISTORY finally put it all together with that blowout win; sharp enough to repeat. (2) WELL DONE SON plunges in price and is off since 12/17 but he's hard to discount from this barn.

Race 6: NW30000 in last 5 starts Trot

(4) HEY LIVVY has really tailed off in Canada so she returns to Yonkers looking for the wakeup call; she was a two-time Open winner here last year. (1) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN could be the controlling speed from this spot. (5) EYE OFA TIGER AS seems to do his best work with Bartlett in the bike.

Race 7: $20,000 Claiming Pace

(1) SOUTHWIND ONYX likely needed that last start and more can be expected from the recent addition to the Stratton barn. (3) SEAFARER has proven himself at this level and as previously mentioned these connections are hot. (2) TIME OUT I'M TIRED hasn't been awful since the claim for these connections yet they drop him in for a lower price willing to take a loss; proceed with caution.

Race 8: 3-5YO $30,000 Claiming Pace

(3) KEYSTONE DASH moved to the Dowse barn for his last start and was much improved, missing just a neck. He can take the next logical step forward tonight. (1) ROCKIN JUKEBOX returns from a failed try at Dover but was solid in three December starts here. (2) KEYSTONE NOLAN has won two of his last three for Lachance yet will still likely offer good value.

Race 9: Open Trot

I like the fact that (1) STORMY KROMER took advantage of last week's cancellation and went to stay fresh with a winning Big M qualifier. When right he's a rock-solid speedy Open-level trotter. (7) WARRIOR ONE ends up outside in this open draw but the Burke trainee has the early speed to overcome the post. (2) HAYEK has one big move in him and can be a legit threat if he minds his manners.

Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) ISLANDSPECIALMAJOR looked to be in too tough recently at The Meadowlands but he had competitive races here versus similar and slightly better than these; he draws best and lures Bartlett. (3) PARMESAN N paced a nice back half last week and can build off that effort. (2) TIGER BARON has tailed off recently, unable to get the job at the lowest conditioned level; he still is too classy to ignore.

Race 11: $12,500 Claiming Pace

(2) BUGGER BRUISER has controlling speed for the Stratton brothers and does his best work at this $12.5K claiming level. (7) FASHIONONTHEBEACH will surely be firing from the gate looking to set up a close-up trip. (1) LOTTERY WINNER looks atrocious on paper but he does hail from a live barn.

Race 12: NW20000 in last 5 starts Trot

(2) HILL OF A HORSE seems to have responded to the addition of Lasix and he should be close enough to grind by these late. (1) FULL RIGHTS had no chance in his last two from the seven hole but the Schnittker trainee moves all the way inside. (6) SO LONG HANOVER didn't fire upon arrival from Delaware but maybe the switch to Brennan helps out.
