2021 MEET STATS: 20 - 50 / $97.30 (-$2.70) BEST BETS: 2 - 5 / $6.60 (-$3.40) Best Bet: P H KENNY (3rd) Spot Play: SOHO LEVIATHAN A (8th) Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace (5) GUNPOWDER N hasn't put in a bad effort in ages as one of the top $12,500 claimers on the grounds. Pete Tritton trainee gets the post edge on his main rival tonight and should come out on top again. (7) SEELEY MAN has been battling with the top one every week, including last week's narrow defeat where he was coming late. Could he complete the exacta again? (1) TWIN B IMPRESSIVE never got involved from the bad post last out but moves all the way inside and the veteran can pick up a piece. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot (2) AFTER ALL PAUL got that long-awaited win two back and followed that up with a sharp finish to be second best at a big price with Lasix added. Lance Hudson trainee is entered under the NW7 also eligible condition here facing more seasoned rivals but he should be competitive here. (2) CASH ME OUT seems to be a bit off his game but this speedy veteran could take these a long way if put on the front end. (1) KINDA LUCKY LINDY closed willingly two back then was uncovered and outkicked last week; smooth trip gives him a chance to hit the ticket. Race 3: $15,000 Claiming Pace (3) P H KENNY was racing well here towards the end of last season and he maintained his sharpness at Freehold with a couple of wins and a second. Veteran returns locally into the winning spot. (2) PEMBROKE JOEY steps up a notch off a win and Holland sticks with him. (1) IN THE HUDDLE has good speed and the best post but he's been lacking late in his miles; drop in class should help. Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace In a very difficult race to figure out, (4) HE'S ELECTRIC has been racing decently over at The Meadowlands and he was facing better when last seen here, with some moderate success. (6) RAPTORS FLIGHT N drops to the basement conditioned level but without much current form. Obviously the talent is there judging by that effort four back at The Big M. (1) SPORTSKEEPER won two races here last year and fits well with this type but the missed time is a concern. Race 5: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (8) YANKEE ROLLER A was perfectly classified by Burke last week as he found a soft spot at Northfield and won easily at 5 cents on the dollar. He ships east looking for three straight but does land in the eight hole; don't take too short of a price. (6) LOCKTON LUCK A has some issues with just nine starts last year but if right he should be a player for the live Lance Hudson barn. (2) IN SPADES likely needed last week's start and he gets class and post relief tonight. Race 6: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) JACK'S SHADOW N rallied nicely from the eight hole last week to finish third as the lukewarm favorite and now the DiDomenico trainee drops to NW5000 and moves in a few slots. He’s clearly the one to beat here. (1) TULLOW N returns from Ohio, draws inside and has plenty of local experience. (3) CAMPORA N looks best of the rest from this spot. Race 7: Open Handicap Trot (8) STORMY KROMER pretty much picked up where he left off last season with an easy front-end score in that abbreviated field last out. Post eight is no picnic but he deserves top billing, at what should be a decent price. (2) WINNERUP has jogged in two straight since the Burke purchase and the NY-bred does have local experience. (5) LEAN HANOVER almost always offers up a good effort and almost always offers decent value. Race 8: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (5) SOHO LEVIATHAN A never really got into the action last week facing better at the NW10000 level; Vallee trainee gets Marohn back in the bike and they've teamed up for good efforts in the past. (2) MCARDLES LIGHTNING looms a main contender but he's been very camera-shy of late. (1) LUCIANO N has good speed from the best post and Holland will likely be looking to take these down the road. Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot (4) MAX returns to Yonkers for the Burke barn and he's had some solid efforts across the river facing similar-type stock; trotter has won here in the past. (5) RICH AND MISERABLE took a little action from the outside last week but never got involved; this seems like a better spot tonight and he should be in the thick of the action. (1) NEW HEAVEN will likely be set up with a nice trip here and he should hit the ticket. Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace (3) ON THE VIRG dropped and popped last week; Stafford trainee is back up in class looking to take another and this barn has been solid so far in this young season. (1) RANCOUSY has good tactical speed from an inside post and he'll be on or near the lead throughout. (4) EPIC ACE responded nicely to the class drop last week; he moves back up a peg and will have to go a bit faster; use underneath.
