We have reached the final race card of 2024. Thankfully I’ll be able to reset my stats for the new year!
Race 1: NW10000 in last 5 starts Trot
(1) ENOLA gets class and post relief, plus goes second-time Lasix for the Shane Tritton barn. Eight-time winner this year is overdue for another score, and finds a good spot to get it done. (3) B NICKING has good early speed which usually works to his advantage; he can sit a trip here and land a nice piece. (5) CRAZYLAND has clear ability but also a breaking problem; use caution.

Race 2: F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(8) BEE OKAY A has put in three solid efforts since the move to the Engblom barn and Bartlett will undoubtedly be firing from the eight hole. If the mare can make the front without too much trouble she may prove tough to overhaul. (2) LUCKY ARTIST A is a classy veteran making her 37th start of the season and while not on top of her game she is more than capable of beating these, especially from a good draw. Steve Smith is wrapping up a pretty solid season as a local catch driver. (3) TWO PISTOL ANNIE just missed last week, can be close again.
Race 3: F&M NW5406 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) FADE OUT returns locally for the Cullipher barn and is 4 for 14 here this season, mostly facing better than what she sees here. (1) AWESOME HILL failed at 30 cents on the dollar last week, no drops to the bottom and lands the rail again looking to make amends. (5) SUGAR BRITCHES makes her Yonkers return now in the Burke barn but those last two efforts over at The Meadowlands don't inspire a ton of confidence.
Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot
(6) RODEO HILL was a distant third when dropped to this level last week but it was a quick race for the class and the Virgil Morgan, Jr trainee does seem to have some more upside than others in here. (5) SWISS HOUSE ON FIRE has beaten better than these in the past and figures to offer value. (2) FANATIC gets Bartlett back in his local return and has a post edge on his main rivals but at 1 for 48 over the past two years it's tough to have him on top at a short price.
Race 5: F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) TONY'S MOM has been facing much better in all recent and from the rail she figures to be controlling the action. Can anyone catch her? (3) OKINAWA BEACH A dropped and popped last week at odds-on and the step back up a notch doesn't figure to slow her down that much. (4) TALENT TO SPARE A was a winner versus two classes higher than this not too long ago and that was with Napolitano driving.
Race 6: F&M NW10239 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) PROBERT has been off a few months but she qualified effectively at Saratoga and she ships back to Yonkers to rejoin the Stratton barn, where she's had some success in the past. Brennan gets the catch drive and could be ready right off the bench. (6) ATREACHEROUS A is another mare from these connections that has seen improvement after moving to the Engblom barn but she did fail last out as the favorite. (5) PARADISE ROCK L likes to hit the board and recently went over the $100K mark for the season. She figures to be a big price and could spice up the exotics.
Race 7: F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) FRONT PAGE STORY was a solid winner last week in her second start with Lachance and she could offer some value here looking to repeat facing a couple of sharp fillies. (4) PASS AND STOW has been on fire since the move to the Harris barn and the 3-year-old goes for five straight. (6) SWEET GAL has also been good but the filly is at a tactical disadvantage again.
Race 8: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot
(7) BELLISSIMO FACE S gets Bartlett back in his local return and they teamed up for four straight wins here a couple of months back. Expect the Engblom trainee to be moving forward off the gate and he could be an okay price due to the outside post. (2) P L NOTSONICE gets some needed class and post relief; mare is a $200K earner this year. (3) SAINT K steps up to face a bit better looking to repeat in his return from Philly.
Race 9: F&M Invitational Pace
(5) COACHELLABOUND N was a decent third last week at The Meadowland and gets Bartlett in her local return. She could end up with the stalking trip behind the likely favorite and she's more than talented enough to convert. (6) KOBE'S GIGI has always been good but she's really stepped up her game since joining the Burke Brigade. She's understandably assigned outside, but 2/5 on the morning line? Is she invincible? (2) LLOYD'S LOVES is back up at the top level and the 18-time winner this year will go over $200K on the season with any check, but a third would be nice.

Race 10: NW5391 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) DONTBOTHERMENONE N beat a field of NW7500's upon arrival and actually gets to drop while looking for three straight because he was eligible at time of entry; short price looming again. (3) MR DUNNIGANS was favored at Philly last week coming off the bench and was an okay third; he and (2) STRAIGHT UP COOL figure to be fighting for the board spots underneath the top choice.
Race 11: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot
(5) P L OSCAR recently added the trotting hobbles and has put in two solid efforts in defeat; I'll give him a chance to move forward again for the upset. (4) TEXSONG SOPRANO blew away lesser in his local return and will be favored to repeat. (1) DW'S POINT MAN drops back down a notch and lands the rail. Lachance trainee hasn't won in a while but figures to have a chance with a smooth trip.
