2025 MEET STATS: 391 - 1272 / $2,243.82 (-$300.18) BEST BETS: 65 - 123 / $209.96 (-$36.04) BEST BET: FRONT PAGE STORY (3rd) SPOT PLAY: IDEAL COVER (5th) Race 1: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot (2) MAZEPPA N has looked better since the hobbles were added and last week's effort was a solid step in the right direction. (7) WARRAWEE WHISPER returns to Yonkers at a much lower level than he's accustomed to facing and he lures Bartlett despite the poor post. Tough to play and tough to toss. (5) BARN CREDIT was too far back to get involved in his local return but did pass a few late. Could show more improvement in second start for the Scran barn. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) MC ANGEL used to be better than her seasonal record indicates, and she drops from claimers to this lowest conditioned class, also draws much better; put those two together and we could be looking at a recipe for success at a price. (6) I DREAM OF JEANIE was dq'ed last out at The Meadowlands in what would have been two straight wins; 4YO mare moves to the Tritton barn upon arrival and gets a big change to Gingras. Like the top choice, (3) HUNTS FLOWER drops from claimers after giving way on the lead last week; Blackler trainee just missed two back with Bartlett in the bike and she figures to take plenty of money. Race 3: F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (1) FRONT PAGE STORY moves from the outermost post all the way into the rail and that makes her an instant contender. Front end or pocket trip can get it done. (4) MY SWEET LILLY recovered from a break two back to wire a softer field last week. 3YO filly will need to show more in order to repeat. (2) GLITTERING HOPE added Lasix in her local return and closed crisply; consistent filly should be a player here. Race 4: MGM Grand Prix Trotting Series Leg #3 (6) SIR PINOCCHIO has looked better than ever in the first two legs of the series and drawing outside is not a problem for this speedster. (2) SOUTHWIND COORS has also raced well in the series though he did burn money with that third-place effort last week. Burke trainee gets post relief and is clearly the biggest threat to the top choice. (3) BLACKHAWK ZETTE gets a new driver in Holland and figures to be sitting midpack, where he can pick up a share. Race 5: F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) IDEAL COVER has raced well since Colin Kelly picked up the drive and though she was uninvolved last week from the tough post her prior two trips were solid and she figures to offer her usual value in this competitive field. (2) MIKKI SIXX was Bartlett's choice over two other legitimate contenders and she may be the one to catch. (5) EASY TO PLEASE went over the $100K mark in seasonal earnings with last week's runner-up effort. Unsure of the trip here but the classy mare has the ability. Race 6: MGM Grand Prix Trotting Series Leg #3 (2) ANTOGNONI S has been razor sharp for the Burke barn with his only defeat over his last three starts was a head loss to Sir Pinocchio. With the post edge on his main rivals again co-owner Gingras will almost certainly be taking control of these. (5) TAKE ALL COMERS is perfect in the series and has won three straight overall at Yonkers. He's clearly the main threat to the top one whether it's from on or off the pace. (4) ARI FERRARI J broke leaving last week after winning the start prior; he's capable of making things interesting in the early stages. Race 7: MGM Grand Prix Trotting Series Leg #3 This seems to be the weaker of the three divisions but still plenty of talent. #1 figures to attract all the attention but I'll try the Engblom trainee (4) CECIL HANOVER, who with co-owner Yannick driving I will hope for him to fire to the front and force the favorite in behind him. (1) DRIBBLING BI moves to the rail and picks up Bartlett (with regular driver Dube on the Svanstedt horse). Three back he was a strong 1:54 1/5 winner here. (5) KHAOSAN ROAD was third at a big price last week, maybe saves ground and can pass a couple of tired ones. Race 8: F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (5) ASHCULA MACHREE N added Bartlett last week and put it all together with a solid effort; Dilloian Jr trainee gets another crack at this level as the NW lifetime condition was stretched to 15. (3) DOUGS BABE A has trouble stringing good efforts together and also gets a new driver tonight. Do we use her in the top spots or toss her? (2) MY RED SEA clearly fits with these and deserves a long look. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot (2) OLIVER THE GREAT gets significant post relief after almost taking the field the distance from post seven; he's beaten better than these in the past and deserves top billing. (3) VINNY DE VIE has been good recently without a win to show for it and he double-jumps in class here but can move forward early and secure a live stalking trip. (4) DW'S POINT MAN has burned money as the chalk in three straight though he'll offer a better price tonight. Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot (3) GLOBAL ACTION S finally made his first start last week at The Meadowlands after some hiccups when he was scratched sick twice following his arrival from Sweden. It was a decent effort for second and now I assume the connections are comfortable with him on the half as he arrives into a live spot. (1) FULL OF MUSCLES has just been even recently but he drops in class and draws best again. Back in September he was an odds-on winner from the rail in a race two classes higher than this. (5) SEA CAN ships in with an impossible to ignore barn change to Burke. Will he be bet off the board? Will he need an acclimating start? These questions and more to be answered late Friday evening. Race 11: NW5312 in last 5 starts Pace (5) FORTIFY returned to Yonkers after an extended run in Canada and he was greeted with the eight hole. Veteran has a good local history and with the drop in class and post improvement should be ready to roll. (2) MR PROFETA draws his first good post in ages and figures to be taking advantage. (3) THE MIKI TAKER A hasn't raced in over a month but did qualify last Friday for the Shane Tritton barn and he picks up the leading driver. [DRF HARNESS: Follow me on X! @drfharnessmatt]
