Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 1/21

Matt Rose|Jan 19, 2022
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 11 - 31 / $57.40 (-$4.60)

BEST BETS: 3 - 3 / $9.60 (+$3.60)

Best Bet: ROCKIN JUKEBOX (7th)

Spot Play: OUR MAX PHACTOR N (4th)

Race 1: $20,000 Claiming Pace

(2) RISKY MILLION was a bit ambitiously placed last start at The Meadowlands. Prior to that the Cano trainee had some good efforts both at Yonkers and Philly. (3) WINDSONG JACK is a classy oldtimer who has been feeling good and he's certainly logical from this spot. (4) CASHNCAM gets moderate post improvement and also should benefit from racing back on consecutive weeks.

Race 2: NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) SON OF A TIGER N looked good in a couple of qualifiers after arriving from Down-Under then in his second pari-mutuel start he was aggressively handled and wilted in the lane; pacer gives the half a try now and could be a player from off the pace. (4) NOME HANOVER gets tested for class as he goes for three straight overall. (3) HESPOISEDTOPOUNCE A is another recent arrival in the U.S. and he came up a winner last out at Freehold; consider.

Race 3: NW5001 in last 5 starts Pace

In a field lacking much form, veteran (6) QUALITY BUD returned locally last week now in the Forte barn and he held for a board spot after a tough trip. He gets Brennan in the bike tonight and may be handled aggressively. (5) SIR PUGSLEY is one of the few Bako trainees that has not been firing of late; Kakaley is back in the bike as he's back in on consecutive weeks. (2) DAVIDS COMING HOME finds his easiest spot in quite some time and is definitely eligible for improvement.

Race 4: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(7) OUR MAX PHACTOR N has been second best in his last two after leaving hard from outside posts in both; he's got to fire out again for his best shot and is capable with a little luck. (4) WALTER MITTY arrived ready off the holiday break as he disposed of lesser; Stratton drives again looking to double up. (1) FLYINGEVENBETTOR N has been underachieving for the Alagna barn but the ability does seem to be there; innermost post helps the cause.

Race 5: $20,000 Claiming Pace

(6) SEAFARER finished well to be second best last week and if he can duplicate that effort from Dec. 10 he'll be tough; not much to get excited about in this field. (1) ROGERTHAT BLUECHIP is hard to gauge given his current form, but he does get Bartlett back in the bike for Harris and draws best. (7) APEX SEELSTER hails from a barn that has looked better with its stock after they had a race in coming off the layoff; tough spot but he'll be a big price.

Race 6: NW20000 in last 5 starts Trot

(5) NEXTROUNDSONME overcame missed time and a sick scratch to just miss in game style last week and the Jenny Melander trainee can build off that effort. (1) SKY CASTLES lands all the way inside and the new addition to the Megan Scran barn gets Bartlett to catch drive; local debut wasn't bad at 70/1. (6) FULL RIGHTS grinded over $100K last year for Schnittker and the gelding fits with these.

Race 7: 3&4YO $30,000 Claiming Pace

(6) ROCKIN JUKEBOX shipped up from Delaware to join the Pete Tritton barn and was solid in three local tries; if you're willing to toss that last effort back at Dover then this gelding looms large. (5) BOLT OF LUCK was a nice earner for Milici last season and he could be ready off those two qualifiers. (2) KEYSTONE NOLAN has taken two of his last three versus similar for Lachance.

Race 8: NW30000 in last 5 starts Trot

(2) STREET GOSSIP is an interesting Ohio shipper from the Virgil Morgan, Jr. barn and the now-4-year-old looked solid in two recent half-mile tries at Northfield. (4) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN toured the track last week in a needed start and he'll be much more involved tonight. (1) HILL OF A HORSE took the money last week and delivered a game win versus lesser; chance here despite facing better.

Race 9: $15,000 Claiming Pace

(4) BUGGER BRUISER never got going last week but now like many others he's back in on consecutive weeks and he's stubborn when he hits the front. (3) TEXAS TERROR N was a bit short in his seasonal debut; 14-year-old war horse drops a notch and can certainly rebound. (6) MACH TIME N turned things around with the barn change to Dilloian.
