Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 11/3

Matt Rose|Nov 01, 2023
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2023 MEET STATS: 414 - 1161 / $2,162.70 (-$159.30)

BEST BETS: 61 - 108 / $201.90 (-$14.10)

BEST BET: DBLDELITEBRIGADE N (1st)

SPOT PLAY: TIMESTORM (2nd)

Race 1: F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(6) DBLDELITEBRIGADE N drops to the bottom conditioned class and almost has no choice but to put forth a more competitive effort. Import should be firing to the front. (3) AMERICAN TICKET also drops a class and gets major post relief. Four back from a similar spot she missed by a nose. (5) LARJON LEAH returns to Yonkers from a couple of unsuccessful tries out of town; Bucci trainee figures to be competitive here especially if Brennan can land her in the front flight of horses.

Race 2: NW15261 in last 5 starts Trot

(4) TIMESTORM has been successful in the past here facing similar, especially with Stratton driving. With any sort of reasonable trip he'll get the job done. (2) HOOLIE N HECTOR is a reliable speed player from the inside and will be prominent throughout. (3) PINEWOOD HANOVER gets post relief for connections (Bartlett/Engblom) that are tough to ignore.

Race 3: F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(7) COWGIRL LILLY has had a big season with almost $150K banked and after a dull stretch she seems to be coming around; she does have some speed and needs to get involved early for her best chance. (6) TUAPEKA JESSIE N is 0 for 21 on the year but has hit the board in 12 of those races; she goes now for Engblom off the claim and picks up Bartlett. (2) SHECOULDBEGOOD N drops from the $50K claimers and could be cutting the mile.

Race 4: NW10683 in last 5 starts Trot

(2) WARRIOR ONE goes for three straight as the trotter is making his way back up the class ladder; stick with him. (3) MISSISSIPPI STORM hasn't been at his best recently but this is a legit Open trotter when right. (4) ROSE RUN XTRA hasn't won in a while but he did hit the board in his last two, the last time with the owner in the bike. Good driver upgrade here to Kakaley.

Race 5: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot

(1) B MEDITHREE was no match to the winner last start but that rival was Warrior One, who we may see back in the Open before too long. DiDomenico trainee faces some shaky droppers in here and could offer a bit of value despite leaving from the pole position. (3) KOSHER MAHONEY drops from $50K claimers where he hasn't been awful but not that great; obvious threat here. (5) ABRUZZO has been on a 'breaking every other week' schedule so maybe the Bako trainee is good to go; he also drops and he picks up Kakaley.

Race 6: F&M NW11076 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) DELITFULCATHERIN N had a good effort three back but other than that she's been very disappointing recently; the fact that she's in to go every week may signal that she's fine and just needs to race herself back into shape. (1) TWIN B SUNKISSED moves back inside and the Burke trainee looms large; obvious contender. (3) I LOVE ONGAIT hasn't fared all that well in her last couple of Yonkers starts; Kakaley picks up the drive.

Race 7: F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace

(1) KARMA SEELSTER is going to take all the money here, and deservedly so. Classy mare is the one to beat. (3) UPTOWN HANOVER was a good second last week to the classy Racine Bell; main threat. (5) MAN DONTFORGET ME can go with these and will offer much more value than the top pair; not impossible.

Race 8: F&M NW20301 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) FADE OUT blitzed cheaper three and four back, then was saddled with poor posts in her last two when stepping back up in class. She faces some legit stock here but the 4YO could be up to the task. (1) MILIEU HANOVER has controlling speed from the rail with Pantaleano driving. (6) HEAVENS SHOWGIRL A will likely be ignored by the bettors but she can pick up a good piece with smooth handling by Siegelman. The other big names in here (#3,4,5) don't have much early speed and have been inconsistent.

Race 9: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot

(8) STICK WITH ME KID faces a very questionable field here and he's been the most formful, and does have more early speed than others. Can catch-driver Buter fire him out to get up close and surprise at a big price? (1) NEWSBOY has been very disappointing since being claimed for $50K six back. Landing the rail and picking up Bartlett should help. (5) LINDSEY'S PRIDE has lots of back class but no current form.
