2025 MEET STATS: 369 - 1203 / $2,011.98 (-$394.02) BEST BETS: 61 - 117 / $199.74 (-$34.26) BEST BET: PERICULUM (7th) SPOT PLAY: KIERKEGAARD K (6th) Race 1: NW7601 in last 5 starts Trot I love the fact that (2) BARRY BLACK is still out there racing at 14 years old, and the French import for that trotting series many years back (remember that?) is still plenty competitive. He should appreciate both the post and class relief. (3) JUSTASIAM AS is just 1 for 14 on the season but gives Yonkers a try for a barn that has success here. (6) GO HAVE FUN recently added Lasix and the Stratton trainee has looked good in her last couple. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace (3) BONITAS BEST BET is fresh Burke stock shipping in and the 4YO has had a solid season with over $150K banked. Gingras picks up the drive and figures to be live. (1) MY RED SEA has been a model of consistency lately for the Bongiorno barn and is in a spot where she can do some damage. (5) ASUSHLA MACHREE N didn't fire last out trying to gain into a rated pace; Zeron catch drives tonight and I think she'll prove to be capable with this type. Race 3: F&M NW10961 in last 5 starts Pace (8) MY SWEET LILY is a lightly-raced but talented filly from the Takter barn and the 3YO now has to face more seasoned foes from the worst post in order to win again. Normally I stay away from these types but I'm not in love with anyone else in here and with Bartlett driving again I'll go with her. (6) JK PEARL STONE is another filly in here and she also was impressive in her last, her initial start for the Dilloian Jr. barn. She's likely to have more to offer. (1) BRI EXPRESS N returns to the East coast after a stay in Ohio and she moves into the leading trainer's barn while landing the rail. Race 4: NW10000 in last 5 starts Trot (1) YANK MY HALO came down from Canada and was very game in defeat at Pocono in his first race for the Burke barn; Gingras drives tonight in his Yonkers debut and draws into a favorable spot. (3) DW'S POINT MAN was unable to capitalize on last week's drop in class and now he's down another notch. Lachance trainee looks like the one to beat. (5) RITSON tries Zeron tonight, could be a late threat. Race 5: MGM Grand Prix Trotting Series Leg #1 (4) SIR PINOCCHIO hasn't been able to replicate his magical 3YO season but he's done fine this year through 16 starts with $172K earned. Local trotter prepped nicely last week for this series and I suspect he'll do well. (1) ANTOGNONI S is an insane 8 for 11 at Yonkers this year for Burke and co-owning driver Yannick Gingras. He's off a month but I doubt that's a concern. (5) KEG STAND is tough to endorse for the top spot having drawn outside the top two but he likes to hit the board and could pick up some pieces here. Race 6: NW15301 in last 5 starts Trot (2) KIERKEGAARD K didn't get involved from post seven in his local return but the Svanstedt trainee now moves inside and retains the catch-driving Dube. (7) FADEAWAY HANOVER had some success in the NYSS and returns to NY now in the Engblom barn. 3YO gets Bartlett and could be ready to make an impact right away. (3) SFORZA is a fresh face arriving from Plainridge, where he's been camped out at their top level for an extended period of time. Driver change from their locals to Gingras. Race 7: MGM Grand Prix Trotting Series Leg #1 (3) PERICULUM returns to Yonkers for the first time since being stuck in traffic in the International Trot. Melander trainee is a legit Aged Trotter of the Year candidate and is hard to look past from this spot as the deserving favorite. (7) CECIL HANOVER has won nearly half of his 15 Yonkers starts going back to the NYSS days and he's done nothing wrong this season over multiple surfaces. Gingras figures to have him in play early. (6) KHAOSAN ROAD returns locally for Svanstedt off an overnight win at Philly. Big price from live connections to consider underneath. Race 8: MGM Grand Prix Trotting Series Leg #1 (7) SOUTHWIND COORS is another talented horse on the card with a tough post but he'll almost certainly be marching forward off the gate and if not too roughed up he may outclass these. (1) DIRE STRAITS has the speed to secure a potential live stalking trip and he can land a nice piece. (4) TAKE ALL COMERS is back from The Meadowlands where he passed some horses from a tough spot in the FanDuel final. Todd McCarthy drives again and he's got plenty of local success. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: F&M NW20206 in last 5 starts Pace (4) COACHELLABOUND N won last week for the first time in a while and she's certainly capable of stringing multiple winning efforts together; McCarthy with the catch drive as Bartlett chose the invading #5. (1) DOUGS BABE A is inconsistent, as shown by that sharp win two back then that break last week. Live draw gives her a chance. (5) FEARLESS BETTOR ships in for Alagna and owner Sam Bowie. Not sure how the 4YO fits here but as mentioned Bartlett chose this gal. Race 10: F&M NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) MALUKA MISS A was collared late by a classy rival last week in a good try with co-owner Gingras in the bike. He drives again and has the speed to make the front. (1) DANDY'S MERCY was a 1/9 winner last out in a softer spot and it wouldn't be much of a surprise if she repeated. (3) STRUTSVILLE is a 3YO filly who last seen picking up a check in the Matron at Dover. Youngster had a couple of prior local efforts that were okay. Race 11: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot (6) I GET IT was a winner at Philly in his second start back off the seven-month break and he was facing better when last at Yonkers. DiDomenico trainee still fits the lowest conditioned level and can double up. (3) MYSTICAL WYNN crushed last out at Pocono in a form reversal; connections bring him in to Yonkers and let's see if he can build off that effort. (5) SEVENSHADESOFGREY used to be good but it's been a long time. Maybe new driver McCarthy helps awaken him. [DRF HARNESS: Follow me on X! @drfharnessmatt]
