Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 11/20

Matt Rose|Nov 18, 2020
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 206 - 623 / $1,067.70 (-$178.30)
BEST BETS: 35 - 60 / $113.30 (-$6.70)
Best Bet:
ORILLIA JOE (2nd)
Spot Play: WAR DAN A (8th)

Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace

(1) ACTING OUT went down the road rather easily off the Izzy Estrada claim and he stays at the same level while moving inside. Repeat is likely but at a shorter price. (4) P H KENNY has been solid since returning to the east coast and this veteran looks like the main threat to the top one. (5) RECORD YEAR gets a big driver change to Bartlett in his local return; pacer has been going well up at Saratoga.

Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(5) ORILLIA JOE hasn't been able to make an impact in his last few but that was against better stock; veteran drops back to the NW5000 level and was a winner when last seen this low. (1) VELOCITY KOMODO paced home steadily in his local debut and he figures to be a bit tighter off that needed start. (4) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A was a winner last week for the Lachance barn and sizzled home in 1:54 3/5 over the Freehold oval.

Race 3: $15,000 Claiming Pace

(4) TWIN B SPEEDO has been a good claim for DiDomenico so far, with two wins in three starts; no reason to think he can't win again. (1) IN THE HUDDLE moves all the way inside and figures to be on or very close to the lead. (5) NIHILATED TRUTH doesn't win often but has hit the ticket in four of five.

Race 4: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

I can't remember (4) CAPOZZO ever being at this low of a level and it's not like he's been bad recently while facing better; looks like he's only got (1) CONTROL TOWER to fend off. The latter also is loaded with back class and he moves all the way inside. (5) MILLIONDOLLAR WAVE showed a hint of improvement last week; maybe consider underneath.

Race 5: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace

(2) NATIONAL SEELSTER has never been one of my favorites but he’s managed to grind out over $400K in earnings and this just feels like a good spot for this veteran. (7) LYONS KING recently moved to the Shane Tritton barn and makes his second start for those connections coming in off a decent race at The Big M. (5) SAPPHIRE CITY is still winless on the year but he's done some of his best work over at Yonkers through the years.

Race 6: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) ARCHANGEL THREE has shown little in his last three races but note he went off at big odds from tough posts in all of them; he drops, draws better and returns to Bartlett. (2) TOM ME GUN N seems to be getting closer and closer to that elusive win; big chance. (5) KERFORD ROAD A drops a bit and seems capable of showing more.

[DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Yonkers card at DRF Bets.com!]

Race 7: Open Handicap Trot

(2) STORMY KROMER was collared deep stretch in a solid front-end try last week; he gets a great post in this 1-6 draw and Dube figures to be heading down the road again. (6) RICH AND MISERABLE was too far back to threaten last week but closed belatedly; he figures to be a bit closer to the action tonight. (8) MELADY'S MONET has been back on top of his game and should be fresh after taking the week off but obviously the eight hole presents a major problem.

Race 8: NW7500 in last 5 starts

(3) WAR DAN A burned all the money with last week's break but I'm inclined to give the Shane Tritton trainee another chance. (1) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N was a little better last week and takes another drop in class while drawing best and picking up Bartlett. (6) AMERICAN BOY N hasn’t won in ages but he's got plenty of class and some early speed to boot; he may be worth a peek at what should be a good price.

Race 9: NW15150 in last 5 starts Trot

(3) LEAN HANOVER was second best to Obrigado last week and he's been knocking on the door for some time now; tonight seems like the Toscano trainee’s turn. (6) TWO AM returns here off a win at Pocono and the Team Buter charge should fit well with these. (4) HILL OF A HORSE has a nice move in him; needs a good setup.

Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(4) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN found the perfect spot to 'drop and pop' last week; he faces better tonight but he should be able to hit the front again and can steal this if well-rated. (8) I’M SOME GRADUATE took money last out but failed to get involved; Burke trainee gets to drop in class again but is also stuck outside again. Let's see if Brennan can coax some early speed out of this veteran. (2) BENHOPE RULZ N hasn’t done much recently but he also drops and draws better.
