SPOT PLAY: EMINEM HANOVER (2nd)
Race 1: F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(8) MILLWOOD BONNIE N looks like she's racing herself back into shape and she gets some class relief; obviously eight hole is no picnic but she can leave from the outside like last week. (3) PARISIAN BLUE CHIP also drops, picks up Bartlett from decent post. (6) RAPTORS WON is another Canadian shipper into the Lachance barn. She will make her presence felt, maybe as soon as tonight.

Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) EMINEM HANOVER dropped to this level last week and woke up with a much more aggressive try where he moved into a quick third panel. Holland drives again and I think he's ready to score. (4) KIMBLE A came on too late last start; needs to be kept closer to the pace. (6) UP THE CREEK has been racing reasonably well for Bongiorno and he left well from the outside last start.

Race 3: F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) TRUE BLUE HANOVER has been accustomed to facing better pretty much all year and has held her own; with the drop and move all the way inside Holland will likely be controlling the action. (2) HALLELUJAH HANOVER also drops with the top one and picks up Kakaley but at 1 for 30 on the season I'll use her second to complete a chalky exacta. (3) ONEDERFULBEACH was a going-away winner in local return and the sharp mare steps up a notch looking to repeat.
Race 4: MGM Grand Prix Trotting series leg #2
I thought (1) IT'S ACADEMIC had a legit chance in last week's Breeders Crown final and he didn't race badly at 20/1. Super-classy trotter from the Burke barn jogged in round one of this series. (5) ARI FERRARI J tired after an aggressive try in the BC and the Alagna trainee is clearly the main threat to the top one. (4) BESTFRIEND VOLO acclimated nicely in round one of this series before stopping in the BC. Takter charge has a chance here.
Race 5: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot
(1) OH BOY has raced well in his last two and the Alexander trainee picks up his main man Kakaley in the bike tonight picking up the action from the rail; he seems overdue for a score. (2) B NICKING was a no-match second best when dropped to this level and he figures as high tonight. (4) ALL STAR SWAN has not done much since arriving in the Engblom barn but she drops from the $40K claimers and co-owner Gingras is back in the bike looking to be more competitive.
Race 6: MGM Grand Prix Trotting series leg #2
There's no doubting that (7) CHAPERCRAZ has been the best of these this season with almost $500K banked and the Burke 4-year-old deserves the call again despite starting from the worst post. (4) TACTICAL MOUNDS passed a few in the BC final and had late trot in her last Yonkers try. With the post edge on much of her main competition Zeron figures to handle her more aggressively tonight. (6) TAKE ALL COMERS kept up well with It's Academic in round one but that was from the rail. Move outside makes things more complicated.
Race 7: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot
(5) BONTONI DEGATO S brushed and crushed in his last local try and Bartlett is back in the bike; top call. (3) HOOLIE N HECTOR has been consistent lately for a barn that's been going well. (1) WINDSONG PIONEER drops in class and moves all the way inside. Three back he was tons the best in an Amateur event.
Race 8: F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) DRAGONS LUCKY LADY has plenty of back class and it was surely on display last week when she jogged on the front end; Engblom trainee has a real chance to repeat here despite facing a bit better. (5) GOLDEN QUEST N is another classy mare in the midst of a solid season at age 9. She'll appreciate the drop from the top level. (3) TWIST LITTLE GIRL N is back in for a tag after easily disposing of her competition first out off the Quevedo claim.

Race 9: F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace
(7) SILK CLOUD A woke up with a much-improved effort last week when she left for a pocket and just missed to the favorite at the top level. Pete Tritton trainee may have a clear path to the front and could prove tough if she makes the lead. (2) DOUGS BABE A is tough to predict and she's been on a bad, good, bad schedule recently so I suppose she's due for a better effort. (5) EASY TO PLEASE is also back in fighting form but loses Stratton to the top choice. Kakaley picks up the drive.
Race 10: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot
(4) THE LAST CHAPTER looks to be showing his age but maybe the couple of months off did him some good. 10YO is a $600K earner and has always had good gate speed. (2) FIX A DRINK stopped badly from the eight hole in his first start for the Burke barn. Co-owner Yannick drives tonight and maybe he tries stalking this time. (1) THE AMERICAN EAGLE hasn't done much in his last couple of local tries but he had some decent Pocono efforts three and four back. Picking up Bartlett can't hurt.
