Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 10/30

MEET STATS: 189 - 556 / $952.10 (-$159.90)
BEST BETS: 31 - 53 / $102.80 (-$3.20)
Best Bet: MELADY'S MONET (7th)
Spot Play: TIGER BARON (2nd)
Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace
(4) MACHING TIME has put in three big efforts since dropping in for the $12,500 claiming tag and he has a post edge on his main rivals here looking to take another; short price looming in the opener. (6) ZOEZZ BOY HENRY was used hard early from the eight hole when up in class off the claim and he gave way in the stretch; he's back down at the proper level. (7) HIGHVIEW CONALL N was a clear second to the top choice last week off the Ruiz claim and he should be a player again despite the poor post assuming the trip is okay.
Race 2: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) TIGER BARON drops to the basement conditioned class and draws well for a barn that's had a sneaky-good meet; gelding looms large from this spot. (3) MCCLINCHIE N was a game second coming out of the same race as the top one and is clearly the main threat. (7) WAR DAN DELIGHT N added Lasix last start and raced well; post may be too much to overcome, however.
Race 3: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(4) MACH TIME N was a bit flat in his last two versus better but he was a good second to a classy rival three back at this level and this veteran should be a decent price versus some suspect foes. (1) MCARDLES LIGHTNING had no excuse last start but he does get another crack from the rail. (5) OZONE BLUE CHIP returns from Freehold and he was a winner at this level when last seen here; Bartlett picks up the drive.
Race 4: $12,500 Claiming
(8) TWIN B SPEEDO was claimed by DiDomenico last week coming out of a race where he never got involved at 74-1. He drops in price, which is never a good sign, and he draws a bad post again, but watch the board for potential signs of life. (1) STOLEN CAR is clearly the one to beat and certainly wasn't bad last week but at this stage of his career he's just not reliable enough to take at a short price. (2) ROCK ON PRECIOUS was collared at the wire last week in a much-improved try.
Race 5: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot
(4) THE VETERAN blew away the competition in his local return and he has the class to succeed again facing better. (1) HOMER HALL is fresh Shane Tritton stock and he should be ready to go coming off that Monticello qualifier. (3) THE LAST CHAPTER raced steadily along the rail last week facing one notch higher and he looks like the other main contender in here.
Race 6: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) DENVER SEELSTER just missed in his local return racing very well as predicted and I’ll stick with him here. (4) HEISMAN PLAYER gets class and post relief here now going for the Travis Alexander barn; Bartlett drives. (5) BLATANTLY BEST outraced his 70/1 odds last week and was only beaten a length; veteran should be a player again.
Race 7: Open Handicap Trot
(5) MELADY'S MONET was too far back to threaten last week but came absolutely flying home with an impressive late burst of speed. Ultra-classy trotter draws a nice midpack post which makes him the one to beat. (7) STORMY KROMER blasted down the road as expected last out but was run over at the wire by a longshot; Stafford trainee has been sharp for ages and must be considered again. (3) MISSISSIPPI STORM may be at his best a level or two down but he did finish well once getting racing room.
Race 8: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(2) BLACK CHEVRON N returns from Ohio and joins the Shane Tritton barn while landing in a seemingly live spot; he's missed some time but Stratton should still be looking to take these down the road. (5) SANTAFE’S COACH just missed last week and everything from the Lachance barn has been winning. (6) AMERICAN BOY N aborted a leave attempt last week and never got involved; perhaps Holland takes a shot off the gate tonight.
Race 9: NW21750 in last 5 starts Trot
(3) LEAN HANOVER didn't fire in last week's Open coming off a sick scratch but he’s right back in facing a bit softer; Toscano trainee seems to have a live chance tonight. (4) RICH AND MISERABLE has taken three of four out of town by open lengths (with a miscue sandwiched in) and the Team Buter charge has raced very well here in the past. (1) VAINQUEUR R P NO just missed in his last two facing a bit softer but he draws best for live connections and figures to work out a good trip.
Race 10: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(5) ROCKIN M returns from a failed stay in Ohio and he's been competitive locally with better than these in the past; Bartlett drives for the Andrew Harris barn and they get a weak vote in the finale. (2) SUNKEN TREASURE went wire-to-wire two back at this level like he was 2/1 and not 23/1 then had no chance from the eight hole versus better; drop and move back inside makes him a contender. (1) LUCIANO N may have lost a step or two but he's still got solid speed from the best post. I'll mention (8) WINDSUN RICKY, who arrives from Canada to join the Stafford/Ceraso barn and this might not be the best spot tonight, but keep an eye on him.
