Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 10/27

Matt Rose|Oct 25, 2023
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2023 MEET STATS: 414 - 1161 / $2,162.70 (-$159.30)

BEST BETS: 61 - 108 / $201.90 (-$14.10)

BEST BET: CHUPPPAH ON (1st)

SPOT PLAY: X O X O (9th)

Race 1: F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) CHUPPPAH ON drops in class to this conditioned event after a long run at the $50K claiming level and she picks up Bartlett in a spot where she can rush to the lead; classy mare can take these a long way. (5) OURLITTLEMIRACLE has faltered in her last two after she also dropped from the claimers but they were improved efforts. Bako trainee appears capable and she will offer value from this spot. (1) JODY was no match for the winner last week and the Burke trainee is just too inconsistent to use on top at a short price.

Race 2: $30,000 Claiming Pace

(4) MACHIAVELLI gave way on the front end in his Yonkers return but he drops in class to a more comfortable spot and should be able to handle these. Camilleri/Bartlett double? (2) FLOW WITH JOE needs to stay pacing (which hasn't been a given recently) and he can land a nice piece in this short field. (1) ON THE VIRG was overmatched last week so the drop and rail draw can put him in position to tag along and pick up a small share

Race 3: F&M NW15311 in last 5 starts Pace

(3) TONY'S MOM returns locally from a trip at The Meadowlands where she charged late to just miss. This class is right in her wheelhouse and she gets Bartlett back from a good post. (2) CENTURY JAMILA is an interesting shipper from Canada where the filly has had a solid season. As she moves to the Cullipher barn the missed time is the only concern. (8) DELITFULCATHERIN N is best here and it's hard to deny that but she's stuck outside again as she tumbles down the class ladder. She deserves to be considered.

Race 4: F&M NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace

(8) DOUG'S BABE A dominated last week at 1/5 in her local return and despite facing better from the eight hole I don't see a ton of speed to her inside and I think Siegelman will be blasting. (2) MCMARKLE SPARKLE has just been 'okay' of late but her win two back was with Bartlett in the bike. (4) DEWITT FOR JOSIE trailed the mile last week at Harrington but was a solid presence in prior starts at the Open level at The Meadows.

Race 5: NW7500 in last 5 starts Trot

(2) ROSALINE steps up for the third consecutive start after winning her first two for these connections; Engblom trainee likely has more to offer. (6) WARRIOR ONE finally found the winner's circle when dropped to the bottom class and now the Burke trainee starts the ascent back to the top level; veteran is a player here for sure. (1) THE LAST CHAPTER qualified okay last week and has plenty of class; maybe he's good for a small piece.

Race 6: F&M NW30000 in last 5 starts Pace

I liked (4) OKINAWA BEACH A to close for a share last week and that's exactly what she did when she flew home for second at 52/1 (though I didn't select the winner). Lachance catch drives again and he's been live recently in the sulky. Should be another good price here. (1) MAN DONTFORGET ME moves all the way back inside and is in line for a winning trip. (6) RACINE BELL took care of business in her local return and is an obvious threat to repeat.

Race 7: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot

(1) BARRY BLACK gave way on the engine last week after brushing to command but that's not his preferred trip. Veteran import steps up in class but doesn't face anyone threatening and he's upset from spots like this in the past. (2) BRIDGE TO VICTORY returns from Pocono off a win in the slop and he figures to be on the lead or just off it. (5) B NICKING drops to face softer and he also figures to be forwardly placed.

Race 8: F&M Open Handicap Pace

(3) SILK CLOUD A lacks the accomplishments of others in here but she's been razor-sharp her last two and has a post edge on her main rivals. (4) LIT DE ROSE is an ATM machine for Lachance and will make money again tonight. (5) KARMA SEELSTER was nipped by #4 last week and I'm uncertain what the trip will be tonight. She is capable from on or off the pace, however.

Race 9: NW5000 in last 5 starts Trot

(3) X O X O returns from an extended stay up in Quebec and she's had plenty of local success here in the past generally facing better than she meets tonight. I guess we can look for signs of life in all of the multi race will-pays. (1) STICK WITH ME KID has speed, the rail and a return to Bartlett. (6) PERRON was a bit better last week and now drops another class for the Forte barn.
