Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 10/22

MEET STATS: 364 - 1089 / $1,942.20 (-$235.80)
BEST BETS: 50 - 102 / $155.60 (-$48.40)
Best Bet: LOU'S SWEETREVENGE (10th)
Spot Play: TALENT SOUP (1st)
Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace
(1) TALENT SOUP finished okay after having to circle stalled cover in the final turn and if Brennan can keep his close enough to the speed he can mow them down late. (4) FAST ON THE DRAW drops below the level of the recent claim looking to bounce back from that poor effort last start. (3) OPUS BLUE CHIP has been competitive recently facing similar-type stock up at Plainridge; interesting shipper definitely worthy of consideration.
Race 2: NW15000 in last 5 starts Trot
(3) NEW HEAVEN gets his first good post in ages and also drops to face a bit softer; seems like a recipe for success. (1) LINDYS BIG BANG shipped in from The Meadows, joined the Travis Alexander barn and easily disposed of lesser; he faces more of a test tonight but could be up to it. (4) SEVENTIER wired a field of age-conditioned types last out and he bumps up to face more seasoned foes while losing the catch-driving Siegelman; Smedshammer is back in the bike and would need to offer more value than that 2/1 morning-line suggests.
Race 3: $15,000 Claiming Pace
(4) BLUEBERRY HEAVEN is 0 for 31 on the season but he closed very nicely in his last two starts and he meets some shaky speed rivals in here. (3) EFFRONTE A hasn't been finishing off his miles recently so the connections drop him in class again; he was favored in $50K claimers just four starts back. (5) CINNABAR DRAGON is facing better coming off the DiDomenico claim and he was a sharp winner last out.
Race 4: $15,000 Claiming Pace
(3) RUTHLESS DUDE tired last week after chasing a fast pace but he was right there in his prior three starts when facing better. (4) TEXAS TERROR N was claimed last week despite being 13 years old and having limited starts over the past couple of years; he is right back in the box for new trainer Bako looking for three straight. (6) CARRACCI HANOVER is another veteran who was claimed last week and he's had plenty of success over this track in the past; Brennan now drives for DiDomenico.
Race 5: $20,000 Claiming Pace
(1) BEVANS CULLEN N was beaten off the gate last week but sped up into the turn to hold position and ultimately he drew clear with authority to break a long winless streak; he stays at the same level for DiDomenico while drawing best again and he gets the call to repeat. (3) BETTOREVER has been competitive down at Harrington and now he returns locally for new owner/trainer Dowse; veteran seems like a player. (6) TODDLER TANTRUM was going nowhere from the eight hole in his first start off the Jenn Bongiorno claim; Joe is driving tonight and he's capable of better.
Race 6: $20,000 Claiming Pace
(3) STARK HANOVER finished second in his last two starts after the DiDomenico claim and he faces a rather formless group here. (2) KEPT UNDER WRAPS A moves back inside for driver Jordan Stratton and trainer Cory Stratton; barn has been good. (4) EGOMANIA also gets an improved post and should be more involved.
Race 7: NW30000 in last 5 starts Trot
(3) NO MAS DRAMA was third recently in the Open and he drops back to the level where he usually does the most damage. (1) LEAN HANOVER disposed of a notch lesser last out as he's started his march back up to the Open ranks; Toscano trainee is an obvious main contender. (2) ALL CHAMPY never got close in last week's 1:53 1/5 mile; post relief obviously helps his cause.
Race 8: 3&4YO $30,000 Claiming Pace
(6) WELL DONE SON was second best last week in the $50K version of this conditioned claimer and he's one of only a couple in here who are established at this level. (1) SAILBOAT HANOVER was claimed away from Burke despite having plenty of gait issues; if Laterza can figure him out he'll probably win here. The rest of this field seems awfully weak considering the generous $32,000 purse…maybe Northfield shipper (4) WHAT THE LUCK will take a liking to this surface; barn has been good here recently.
Race 9: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace
(1) RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN N and (2) LUCIANO N seem to tower over the rest in here, and they draw the two inside posts. Who else is going to challenge them? (7) LA PLAYER A has been a disappointment since arriving from Down Under. He is intriguing as a price option underneath, however.
Race 10: 3&4YO $50,000 Claiming Pace
(1) LOU'S SWEETREVENGE had good finishing pace last week but way too far to come. Burke trainee gets Siegelman in the bike tonight subbing for Brennan and is the one to beat. (3) FOLLOW YOUR HEART was a winner first out off the Temming claim then tired on the front the following week. He'll probably be back in a stalking spot tonight and can threaten. (2) BET ON BLAKE seems to be getting progressively faster for Dowse and now he enters for this tag; post ensures he'll be close-up throughout.
Race 11: NW20000 in last 5 starts Trot
(5) HILLEXOTIC overcame a miscue last start and rallied nicely to be second best; obviously if he behaves himself the Smedshammer trained and driven trotter can beat these. (2) GLOBETROTTING fizzled out on the front end in her last two; I suspect she's better suited coming from off the pace, which she'll probably do tonight. (1) STICK WITH ME KID enters the Alexander barn after being claimed last week for $50K; trotter is in a good spot to recoup a nice chunk of that investment.
Race 12: NW7500 in last 5 starts Pace
(3) BIG BAD BILL gave way on the front end last start and overall this Gillis trainee's form hasn't been too good but he drops out of claimers into what seems like a softer spot and perhaps he can awaken. (1) LATISSIMUS HANOVER was recently second best to a sharp rival who already came back to win; Milici trainee has controlling speed from the best post. (4) LIKE CLOCKWORK ships from Philly for Abbatiello going for two straight and he should fit well here.
