Yonkers: Analysis for Friday 10/15

Matt Rose|Oct 13, 2021
Yonkers Logo 1.5

MEET STATS: 344 - 1004 / $1,845.00 (-$163.00)

BEST BETS: 46 - 94 / $145.40 (-$42.60)

Best Bet: A FANCY FACE (9th)

Spot Play: MOXLEY (8th)

Race 1: $12,500 Claiming Pace

(3) NOBLES FINESSE didn't fire in his last two local efforts but neither have most of these recently; veteran does have five wins on the season and if he can revert back to that Freehold form he'll be competitive. (6) TEXAS TERROR N took command from the outset and was never in doubt last week; classy oldtimer still has what it takes to get it done. (2) GRAND PRIORITY stopped badly in his debut off the Jenn Bongiorno claim; brother Joe drives tonight.

Race 2: NW15000 in last 5 Trot

(1) WHAT CHAPTER always seems to underachieve at Yonkers but he gets needed class relief while moving inside; if he rides a smooth trip he can be freshest late. (6) KINDA LUCKY LINDY would be better served with an improved post but he's a proven entity with this type. (5) LEVITATION wired a NW10000 field in his local return when Siegelman hopped aboard and he drives again tonight.

Race 3: $12,500 Claiming Pace

(4) PANTHEON HANOVER was favored in his last start when he shipped over from the amateurs at The Meadowlands but his bid fizzled out; he figures to be a nice price in this crapshoot of a race. (3) ER VEGAS has probably been the most consistent of these lately. (7) COACH CAL has been going well and figures to be gaining in the late stages.

Race 4: $15,000 Claiming Pace

(2) CARRACCI HANOVER has a good local history and has always liked to win, as the freelegged pacer has ten tallies on the season; he returns from Monti and will probably be looking to wire these. (3) THEREISAPACEFORUS bumped to $20K claimers off the Dicostanzo claim and went off 106-1 from the eight hole; he's back down in class from a much better post. (6) BETTOR CAT also drops down a notch off a no-chance trip.

Race 5: $20,000 Claiming Pace

(4) MCNULTY Z TAM was a good second last start after cutting the mile and he takes a logical step up off the Ruiz claim; gelding figures to be forwardly placed again. (2) KIMANI N drops in for a tag for the Harris barn and Bartlett is back driving again from a good post; veteran should fit well here. (8) EGOMANIA was claimed for $30K a couple of months back by the sharp Bako outfit and he finds himself at a reduced level after underperforming; tough to say if he'll ever get involved here but he's worth including underneath.

Race 6: $20,000 Claiming Pace

(2) I GET THAT flashed good early speed last week but had some traffic issues so it's hard to say what could have happened; he stays at the same level after being claimed by Dowse and he draws better with Bartlett picking up the drive. (3) IT’SGOODTOBEDAKING was well-meant in his initial start for DiDomenico but was collared at the wire and had to settle for the heater; only problem backing him tonight will be the lack of value. (4) WESTERN REDHOT is another oft-claimed pacer who lands in a better spot debuting for the Alexander barn.

Race 7: Open Handicap Trot

(8) MISSISSIPPI STORM eclipsed the $200K seasonal earnings mark with last week's second-place finish, where he tried to wire the field from post eight. If he can hit the front again without too much trouble he could be tough to catch this time around. (7) MELADY'S MONET has failed to hit the board in his last three but it seems he was more a victim of circumstance more than anything else and he's right back in to go this week. He can never be discounted, especially at what should be a good price. (4) MAGIC VACATION could try firing from the gate to be one of the early leaders at a big price; consider underneath.

Race 8: 3&4YO $30,000 Claiming Pace

(3) MOXLEY steps up from the $12,500 claiming level to this age-conditioned event but his recent races at the basement level are on par with everyone else in here, so why not race for this massive purse? (2) ROLL WITH JR didn't show much upon arrival from Indiana; seems capable of better. (5) BOLT OF LUCK has been a steady check-earner of late for Milici.

Race 9: NW20000 in last 5 starts Trot

(1) A FANCY FACE returns from Ohio where she had just limited success in stakes action but she's two for three over this surface this season; logical chalk. (5) AFTER ALL PAUL takes a needed drop in class and he figures to be more involved in the outcome. (4) HOMER HALL gets away from the eight hole and he's also a logical candidate to complete the exacta and/or triple (and/or superfecta).

Race 10: 3&4YO $50,000 Claiming Pace

(3) KEYSTONE DASH was in a tough spot last week but managed to pass a few; from this improved post he figures to fire to the top. (2) TERRITORY transitions back to the age-restricted claimers and though he's up in price in theory this should be an easier group. (5) LL MYSTRO faltered in his debut for the Jenn Bongiorno barn but he clearly deserves another look, especially with Joe B back locally to drive.

Race 11: NW30000 in last 5 starts Trot

(4) D P ROCKET shipped in to join the Alexander barn and was a solid winner facing lesser; mare gets a big test tonight but may be sharp enough to get it done. (2) CHAPTIAMA drops from the Open, where he's always right there but hasn't been able to polish it off lately. (3) SWANSEA is a legit Open talent but loses Brennan, who sticks with the Smedshammer trainee.

Race 12: NW5000 in last 5 Pace

(1) MCERLEAN seems like he's been around since the Reagan administration but he can still get it done when he's in the right spot; Cassar trainee goes for two straight. (5) MISTER SPOT A isn't the most reliable horse out there but he hails from good connections. (3) BURNING MIDNIGHT arrives from Monticello and he seems capable of landing a share here.
