Yo Y Me seeking fourth straight victory

Yo Y Me will seek his fourth straight win Saturday in the $30,000 Lost in the Fog Juvenile at Turf Paradise, and his strategy might have been decided at the post-position draw. Yo Y Me landed post 1 for the 6 1/2-furlong stakes that drew a large field of 11.
The circumstances may dictate that Yo Y Me get out and go under regular rider Ry Eikleberry. The two used the same tactics last out, when Yo Y Me broke on top and kept going for a seven-length win in the $37,000 Arizona Breeders’ Futurity on Dec. 10 at Turf Paradise.
The Lost in the Fog is one of two stakes on the program Saturday. The other is the $30,000 Arizona Juvenile Fillies, which is also 6 1/2 furlongs. The Arizona Juvenile Fillies field includes multiple stakes winner McKenzie Honey.
Yo Y Me began his streak in his fifth career start, winning an Oct. 17 maiden race at Turf Paradise. He proceeded to win the track’s $96,000 ATBA Fall Sales Stakes on Nov. 5, then took the Arizona Breeders’ Futurity.
Yo Y Me will be moving back into open company for the Lost in the Fog and will be racing beyond three-quarters of a mile for the first time. He gets pedigree support for more distance as a son of Dixie Chatter, a Grade 1 winner at two turns at 2. Yo Y Me also is out of a Bertrando mare, Miss Ballard.
Kevin Eikleberry co-owns and trains Yo Y Me, who boasts the field’s best last-race and career Beyer Speed Figure, a 73 for his Arizona Breeders’ Futurity win. The horse also races for William Matthews.
Others set to start include Howdy Kingkowboy, who was second to Yo Y Me in the ATBA Fall Sales Stakes in his last start Nov. 5. Howdy Kingkowboy was making his stakes debut and dueled to the late stages. Scott Stevens has the mount for trainer Molly Pearson.
McKenzie Honey enters the Arizona Juvenile Fillies off an eight-length romp in the $63,000 fillies division of the ATBA Fall Sales Stakes on Nov. 5 at Turf Paradise. It was her second stakes win at the track, following the $53,000 ATBA Spring Sales Stakes on May 8 – a race in which she defeated the colt Yo Y Me. Jorge Bourdieu has the mount for co-owner and trainer Jonathan Nance.
Kingsley debuted in the $36,000 fillies division of the Arizona Breeders’ Futurity last out and was prompt chalk, with a three-quarter-length score Dec. 10 at Turf Paradise. She became the sixth stakes winner produced by the mare French Debutante. Others include full siblings Uh Oh Bango, a Grade 2 winner and earner of $691,512, and Top Fortitude, a Grade 3 winner and earner $200,900. Kingsley also is a half-sister to Ez Dreamer, a multiple stakes winner who banked $533,948.
Kory Owens trains Kingsley, a daughter of Top Hit, for her breeder, Triple AAA Ranch.
